Please bear with me on this review. Being from LA, you find the real deal authentic tacos, from hole in the walls, taco trucks, and to 5 star Mexican restaurants. And having visited Mexico, I know what a good taco consists of. I guess MS doesn't have as much hispanic population and restaurants are more Tex-mex style, which greatly differs by incorporating cheddar cheese, flour tortillas, and hard shell tacos. So let me say, Señor Taco is not bad for when you get Mexican food cravings, I was actually impressed at the quality and flavor of the tacos. My favorite was al pastor which even included big chunks of pineapple. Salsas were decently spicy too which you can add to your preference. I guess I can say the lengua taco was dry and lacked flavor. Prices: let's say tacos were above $3 which to me is pricey since on average tacos in Los Angeles are about $2.25. But I'm just comparing again. Service could improve but overall would recommend. And I'm glad they have dessert, their tres leche cake is the perfect way to finish off your meal. read more

So I've been dying to try Birria tacos since Yelp included them in the 2021 Food Trends list. I noticed them mentioned in reviews at Senor Tacos, so I had my heading. I tried calling to place a to-go order 4 times, to no avail and no answer (kept going to voicemail). I checked the hours of operation on multiple platforms and confirmed that they were in fact open, and had my heading. (I refused to be deterred) Call-in order fail aside, the tacos were freaking fantastic! I mean, FANTASTIC. So, super tasty. I 100% get the hype. It's warranted. I had to wait 45 minutes for the order, which was another bummer, but desperate times call for desperate measures. This review is for the Woodrow Wilson location. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food. Ordered a few dishes since it was our first time. The chimichanga plate was good, guac was fresh. Good portion size also. The accompanying rice and beans, however, whew...I only took three baby bite sized bites and the bubbles were forming. Would hate to see what happens from the full portion. The plate also comes with a 32 oz drink. Baby that red kool-aid is delicious! Lemon pepper wings were ok. Wouldn't order them again. Saw after coming in there is a drive thru...will definitely use that on our next trip. read more

I prefer it to the vast majority of taco shops we have in town. they only have 5 tables inside and most people get it to go, but we love eating inside bc it is quick and quiet. The best tacos we've had in the area so far! We were living in Southern Cali so accustomed to bomb tacos. The meats are great- tender juicy and flavorful. They have a big salsa collection but the sauces are a little watery and I wish they had cucumbers or something pickled on the side. The prices weren't exorbitant but did seem a little high. But also used to Cali where you can get a plate of good tacos for a few bucks. Plus inflation. Anyways, I highly recommend this little hole in the wall. The al pastor was my favorite. I was really excited to go here after one of my closest friends pointed it out to me. So we decided to go here after reading the basically raving reviews. After searching the menu, we decided to get the 3 tacos each. I ordered one Barria taco and the others were just regular from the menu, after ordering and waiting maybe 5 minutes, we got our food...or someone else's food. We only ordered 3 tacos but got 9. I'm sure any smart person would jump for joy but none of them were what we ordered except for maybe 2 tacos and we couldn't tell what kind of meat each was. Nothing was labeled and after telling them we got the wrong order it didn't really seem to matter to them so we just ate anyway. Then I realized none of our sides were given to us (pico/avocado/and sour cream). After 3 tries of getting avocado and pico, they gave me guacamole, which I guess is technically the same thing but my friend hates Avocado so we were gonna split the pico. First time trying out Senor Taco. They're in the old La Guadalupe building on Old Canton. Upon walking in we were greeted right away. You order in the front and take a seat. The place is small, but cute and very clean. If you like a HUGE sandwich, that's stacked high, stuffed and a little messy, this is the sandwich for you. Asada was cooked perfectly, fries were well seasoned. The bread was thicker than my liking, but soft. I really enjoyed every component on my barbacoa plate. The cuts of meat in my Barbacoa was slightly fattier, which made it a tad too greasy for me... but the rice, beans and meat was good. The salsa had a nice little kick, I enjoyed it. Now this is what I know folks would go crazy over. Get this, they have oreo churros! No it's not oreos sprinkled on top of churros, it's actually oreo churro batter! It's a tad more dense than traditional churros, but it's good. Would go great with some milk though . read more

Wow! I just had breakfast here and it was fantastic! The Value for the money is excellent. The salsa alone is worth the trip and worth the price of admission. This food is made with love and care and absolutely delicious. Took me back to my Mom's kitchen when I was a kid and authentic Mexican was my daily staple. So far I've had al pastor, Barbados, chicken fajita, and carne guisada. Never had carne guisada before. It's like the best pot roast and gravy ever in a taco. Huevos Rancheros $12+ gets you 2 overcooked eggs (when I asked that they be cooked soft, 1 paper thin bacon strip, re-fried beans and guess what was not included THE RANCHEROS sauce. They think their cold red salsa is rancheros. I've struggled with writing this review a bit as I'm not a fan of throwing around the race card but I think it has to be said. I went into Senor Taco a few nights ago and I took a date with me. We go inside and an employee was standing by the counter and we were trying to figure out if we were supposed to order or sit down but the employee definitely made no attempt to point us in the right direction. We ordered our food (birria tacos) and sat a table to wait. I decided I wanted a queso with chorizo and so I got one (a large). While we're sitting there we notice that the guy who was on the register was engaging the other customers who were all white while mostly acting like we didn't exist. After about 10 minutes my date asked where the queso was and he told us that he thought we were ordering to go. Maybe it was a simple mistake but he never asked if it was for here or to go. We also came in as a couple and sat down so it would be a bit odd for us to be ordering to-go plus Senor Taco has a to-go window. Either way a few minutes later he brings our tacos and queso...all packed to go. I personally felt as though we'd told him we were actually dining in with enough time for them to have actually plated the food but it wasn't a complete deal breaker but all of this is a moot point considering that 1. The tacos were soggy which defeats the purpose of a birria tacos because the concept is that it's a crispy taco that you dip. 2. The tacos were bland 3. The dip was bland 4. The to go queso cup was small and wasn't even filled all the way. However the actual dine-in bowl of queso that another customer had looked like a more reasonable amount. There was definitely a direct correlation between us being dissatisfied with our meal and the takeout/dine-in mix up because it led to the smaller portion of queso and the tacos being in a box led condensation and the tacos being soggy rather than crisp. However, I would like to reiterate that the food could have been EXCELLENT and I'd still never go to this place another day in my life because they treated me like I was at a segregated 1950s lunch counter by catering to the needs of the white customers and being extra chummy with them while acting like we weren't there, screwing up our order, and then still bringing out the food as takeout despite having been told that it was dine-in. Imagine us in a restaurant with everybody else eating off of plates and we're sitting there eating out of to-go boxes. It was an all around bad experience and in conclusion if I want Mexican I'll go to Green Ghost or Valdez Market where I don't feel like I have to use the back entrance. #respectourblackdollars read more
