Location, Location, Location This family friendly vacation…read morespot. Has it all. Inside, all the comforts of home. Kitchen, laundry and space enough of family and friends. We use the hide a bed and have returned every year with our sons and their friends. Outside from sun rise to sunset you have the most remarkable views. Great restaurants are footsteps away. The beach is just across the street and visible from every back deck. A diving reef and activity (walking, biking, roller blading) trail just outside your sliding glass door. Blue Surf Unit #2: Reservation: Always easy with VRBO…read more(simply pick your time if it's available) Communication: Owners will say that messaging on VRBO is not their preferred method of communication. Location: Excellent spot next to the public beach and Pompano Joe's--this is our fifth stay at Blue Surf! Blinds: There have been many negative comments about this issue already! A street light kept us awake all night in the upstairs bedroom (resulting in poor sleep), and downstairs lacks privacy (a bit unsettling). Additionally, there are missing slats in the living room blinds, all of which really affects sleep quality and personal privacy (spoils a vacation). Wi-Fi: Upstairs, where we use the internet most, the connection is terrible. The signal is weak throughout the unit. Consider upgrading the Wi-Fi or relocating the modem upstairs. Carpets: The carpets are very old and stained. A thorough steam clean would be a good idea. Stairs: There's a hole in the wall near the stairs, covered only by a flimsy plastic plate--not very classy. TV: The TV in the upstairs bedroom doesn't work well; cable service is spotty. Stationary: There were no facial tissues provided, and we found there wasn't enough toilet paper. Outside Hose: Other units have hoses for cleaning feet and beach items, which could help preserve the carpets. Unfortunately, our unit was missing this amenity. Additional Fan: The extra fan provided didn't work properly; the motor was loose in the frame, making it unsafe to use. Extras: This unit is quite basic, lacking any worthwhile extras. Some units offer snacks and toiletries, but here we found rubber bracelets instead. Bathrooms: Seemed semi-remodeled but towel rack upstairs was falling out of wall and upstairs bathroom floor had low spots/flex. Downstairs faucet was pouring water too close to rear of sink making even washing hands awkward. Other Blue Surf units we've stayed at which were way better: #4, #9, and #12.

It has a mixture of cabin/cottage rentals and rv sites. I don't believe they offer tent camping. It was clean, quiet, and the amenities didn't disappoint. The pool was heated and refreshing after a day at the beach. Our pull-thru site was perfect. Lots of trees and shade. Loved that Publix was appx 5mi away, easy to do my shopping upon arrival. Fishing is brackish water but had a cleaning station. You can brong your boat and golf cart (check with office on rates and rules). All the staff was super nice and helpful. We did have a long-term rv next to us but they were quiet like everyone else. We will definitely visit again!

We landed well before 3:00 so we had to kill about five hours before checking in. She allowed us to leave our bags in a room off to the side while letting us check out bikes which we rode to get something to eat. We came back and she let us use the clubhouse bathrooms to change into our bathing suits to go to the pool. Then she texted us that our room was ready around 2:30. In Magnolia House, we had our own pool that everyone's balcony has a view of, and the beach is a short walk on a trail through the dunes behind the pool. There is also another beach access area by the other pool where you can either walk down the road or walk across a small bridge over a pond-like body of water. That is the beach you want to go to since it is on the gulf. The other beach is in the bay and while still really nice, the beach is smaller and the water is a little less clear. Our room was spotless when we walked in. They had some laundry detergent, dish soap, a sponge, and detergent for the dishwasher. There were more than enough towels for us too! Getting into the rooms is super easy as long as you don't forget your code. The lanai at the front of every room is great for leaving sandy stuff out there to bang off so you don't track it into the condo. We had a great time, the only concern would be for an older couple or if someone has young children because of the location. *NONE of this is an issue if you rent a car though!* Destin Pointe is at the end of the road, kind of back by itself. We rode our bikes around for breakfast, but utilized Lyft when going to the Harbor Walk. From Magnolia House to Cracking's breakfast restaurant was about a 2-2.5 mile bike ride. I would definitely stay here again in one of the houses just to be able to swim late at night. The pool closed at 10pm and that is when "quiet time" started. I would've loved to have our own pool to use later than 10pm but it was no problem at all. Highly recommend Destin Pointe for people looking for a beach vacation. If you don't mind using Lyft a few times and riding a bike to eat a couple times then you will love it. We used Instacart to deliver our groceries and after adding it all up for the week, we saved money by not renting a car. Again, the service from the blond lady at the front desk (sorry for not remembering her name) and the younger girl who helped us get our bikes was above and beyond and we really appreciate them for all they did!

Well equipped kitchen and best suited for 4-6 people. Wonderful weather and close beach access was a great plus. When traveling with kids, staying in close proximity to supermarkets is a great advantage, bcoz you are running to one often. This condo is tucked away nicely from busy streets and you only see residential traffic. So its safe for kids to go to the pool, tennis courts or beach. The property has tennis courts and heated swimming pool which are accessible to residents only.
