We stayed 8 days in the upstairs apartment at the Sea Bird Marina during Christmas 2024. We had a wonderful time and had plenty of room for the five of us. What a disgrace to humanity the staff at this location is... Yesterday my brother and I were out riding our PWC, all the sudden his machine turns off and starts taking in water, Luckily we see this marina on gps and we head over to find a safe spot. We get there and here we are thinking ok we are safe, to our surprise we were declined entrance to the marina because we were in PWC??? Really we have a emergency lady, we offered to pay whatever she wanted and no told us to get out... We had to deal with a half sunk ski to another place... Unreal I really hope u don't need any ones help ever lady, u know who u are... Karma comes back. Any decent human being should not ever spend a dime at this location, they don't deserve your hard earned money. read more

We had an amazing time at the Seabird Marina. Stayed in one of their rental units with a water view. Took out one of their rental boats for a fishing trip and loaded the cooler. This is a family owned and operated business and they were amazingly friendly and accommodating. Had everything we needed for a fantastic week. Highly recommend! read more

This marina deserve less than one star, a horrible customer service, unfriendly staff (all family members) they even didn't allow us (family with twins of 4y old) to use the bathrooms when our boat shower suddenly stop working, but to clear explain how bad they treated us, staying at the marina a north wind of 25 mph was predicted by forecast, they approached to me and clear says that we have to leave the marina because they don't want to put to much stress on their poles, anything you do there they look after you like you're not welcome, very rude , if you planning to go there be advice and read all the reviews!!! Rented a 23 ft walk around fishing boat- great experience. Boat was in great condition. Owner and her son shared tips on locations to fish and snorkel. Went fishing every day. Caught mangrove snapper, yellowtail, hogfish, porgies and a Goliath grouper! read more

We had a terrific stay at the Seabird Marina! The family was nice and helpful. We were able to do laundry here which was helpful. It was relaxing, our room was very clean and we had everything we needed in our room. It's small and quiet and that's what we were looking for, and the view outside our door was beautiful! Very nice people. We forgot our boat keys at home and they were able to rent us a pair of spare keys so we wouldn't have to drive back home. The store is very clean as well as the restrooms inside. The place has a rental unit that's very nice. In our day back home the tide was at the lowest point so we had issues taking the boat out of the ramp. They offered help with their truck for a fee. We were able to go home early enough to avoid the heavy traffic on a Saturday. We are thankful for all the help. read more

Gave no direction over phone for rules of boat rentals. FYI have to be over 30. Very aggressive and rude staff or owners. Immediately says whoever took your reservation is an idiot you aren't renting a boat today. Immediately got aggressive didn't even ask if anyone else in the party was over 30. No professionalism. My parents just recently bought a boat. We came down to the keys for a week vacation. We stayed up the street at Lime Tree Bay Resort. We needed somewhere to launch the boat and keep the trailer at for a week. We found Sea Bird Marina and we are very happy we did. Very friendly people and very helpful. The grounds are very well kept and it's a breeze to launch the boat! Unfortunately our boat blew a pump the last day we were there and really wanted to go to the lighthouse to snorkel. Luckily, Sea Bird Marina had a boat for us to rent! Very reasonable prices for boat rental, trailer storage, and items in the store! We have kept our sailboat in the marina since December and have really enjoyed our experience. The family that owns it is friendly and are quick to give advice on great locations for snorkeling, swimming, fishing and more. The price for a bigger sailboat is much better than other marinas in the Keys and the fact it is a small business makes supporting them that much better. This marina is truly a hidden gem for your cruising sailboat - as long as you don't have over a 5.5' draft. Fortunately ours is 3.5' so we could check this place out and spend longer than planned in Long Key. Love it! read more

I would give less than one star if I could. We had a HORRIBLE experience trying to launch our boat at this marina. They are incredibly rude to customers. We got out of our car and didn't have masks on because we didn't know you needed them to stand outside. The son told us to put them on with an attitude, which we complied with. Then he told his parents that we were arguing with him about it. The father came over and screamed at us, harassed us, threatened us, and finally kicked us out. I was holding my one year old son while this exchange happened and asked them to repeatedly not speak like that in front of my son. Then the owner's son made shocking comments about my child. I am in disbelief. We have never been treated like this at any marina before. We have learned that we are not the only people who have had a bad experience at this establishment. If I could do less than 1 star, I would put -5. Dealt with two different staff members, and neither one of them made us felt welcome. We put our boat in 5 hrs before they closed and they told us we should go somewhere else if we planned on staying out longer. We travelled here by boat from Cape Coral and stayed a week. We had an excellent experience. The slips were nice and all the docks have been recently rebuilt. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and had cold AC. The kitchen was well equipped and there were TVs throughout. The location is perfect to boat from, as it is close to Robbie's, Bass Pro, Alligator Reef, fishing spots, and various waterfront bars and restaurants. The best part is there is no restaurant/bar/pool at the marina, so it is peaceful and quiet when you return for the day. The bait shop has pretty much everything you need. Lynn was very friendly and helpful. She guided us to the best fishing and snorkeling spots. We had a mechanical issue with our boat, and Lynn had a mechanic on tap that was able to come out and fix us up the next day! I can't even get that at home!! Seems to me that the bad reviews are from all the googans, Yankees, and entitled fools that can't seem to follow the rules. We watched that in action as people ignored "no trespassing" signs at the boat storage, and don't know how to properly launch, dock, or recover their boats. We had a great time and will definitely be back! Five stars! read more

Two cruisers who came in for 4 gallons of ethanol free gas with jerry cans, the lady who asked what we needed rudely said "Are you serious?" Seemed like we were not worth her time. Not looking to be demeaned over getting gas for a dinghy. If you are a local I'm sure they treat you well, if you're passing by probably avoid if possible. I visited a friend that lives aboard his dockside sailboat at Sea-Bird last spring and was impressed with the privacy and clean grounds. The store was well stocked and the owner was very informative about the Keys. My buddy and my son went out in a skiff and the area is beautiful. It's a narrow Key so you can enjoy the Gulf and the Atlantic both. Its mid keys so it's close to Islamorada to the north and halfway to Key West to the south. I prefer the middle keys all the way around v/s the overcrowded north and south extremes. read more

Do you want to be treated like a child or a sub-human? Then this is the place for you! The lady that runs this place is rude, combative, and downright unethical. We put our boat in here on the night before mini-lobster season, which is one of the biggest events in the Florida Keys. They are a little on the expensive side, but it was the closest marina to the hotel we stayed in, so we decided to pay the extra money. Right from the first drop, we should have gone somewhere else, as she was short and rude during check-in. She makes you sign this big "contract" that she doesn't give you a copy of, so you have no idea what you are signing. We went out the next morning, and I will say that this marina has a very short ramp, and is very small, so if you have a larger boat, it will take you some work to maneuver through the marina and into the slips. Oh, and most of the slips have NO dock. We caught a bunch of lobster, but spent considerable amount of time and energy fighting the currents at the bridges, a popular place to find and catch lobster. Since we were tired, we decided to moor up in the lagoon to the north east of the marina, and just rest for a bit. Our boat was moored about 200 yards from shore (600 feet). We had snorkelers in the water, mostly staying close to the boat, always staying more than 300 feet from shore. Out of no where, the lady that runs the marina starts yelling at us from the shore. She accused us of trespassing (since we were customers of hers, I don't even see how this is legally possible), she told us that we needed to be 300 YARDS from her marina, which is not in any guideline or manual or contract that we had been presented with. (Usually, the rule is 100 feet, during mini-lobster season, it is 300 feet). She then yelled that she was going to call the sheriff on us. We got our people in the boat as quickly as we could. We then went to the marina to discuss the situation with the lady that ran the place. THREE sheriff deputies met us at the dock! She had called them to report us as trespassers! The officers were very polite and professional. They ran each of our licenses to make sure that we didn't have any criminals in the group, I guess. One of the officers went with us to talk to the lady. She was combative and rude, and insisted that we leave immediately, and she refused to refund us for the days that we did not get to keep our boat and trailer there that we had already paid for in advance. In addition to that, the officers indicated that they are down there regularly as she turns in her customers for every slight infraction that may or may not be real. This is the worst treatment by any business I have ever had in my entire life (and I am not a young man). I truly hope that if you are looking for a boat ramp, marina or any other service that this place provides, please, please, please look somewhere else. Do it for yourself. read more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a Marina in Florida. It was my first trip down in the keys for mini-lobster season and we rented a slip for two days here. When we arrived late in the evening, our slip that we had reserved and paid a deposit for was taken, so we were forced to dock the boat on the outside of the pier with very little protection from wind and waves. On top of that, the lady that runs the marina is just a very rude individual. She has no respect for her customers, she pretty much assumes everyone is an idiot and treats them as such. We were told by a sheriff back at the marina that he is called to this marina multiple times a week because the owner likes to kick people out of her marina for the slightest infraction. She rents out slips that she doesn't have, kicks people out, and then rents the slip out again in order to get more customers. Absolutely terrible customer service, I don't understand how the marina is still open. Take an extra 10 minutes of your driving time to rent a slip in Marathon or Islamorada where your business will be appreciated. read more

Let me begin by saying I'm not normally the type a customer that complains or writes negative reviews on businesses for the least little thing. Sense the Sea Bird Marina ruined our Florida Keys vacation I am compelled advise all to avoid the Sea Bird Marina on Long Key, FL at all cost. The owner of the Sea Bird Marina is one of the worst business people I have ever dealt with in my life. For our Florida Keys vacation we stayed at the Lime Tree Bay Resort (nice place, good service) on Long Key and needed a boat launch and slip nearby. The only close option is the Sea Bird Marina an unfortunate convince. The problem is they have a monopoly on their little area and they know it. Dealing with this business owner reminds me of the "soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld". If you do not conduct yourself just right there will be no boat slip for you! The bottom line is they will take your money and will not deliver the service. Based on our experience they will very likely call law-enforcement for the least little violation of their rules as they did with three of their customers while we were there including us. We were falsely accused of a rules violation and evicted mid trip with no place to store our boat or trailer. The law enforcement officers were professional and sympathetic to our situation but had to obey the wishes of the sociopath's that own the Sea Bird Marina. Fair warning our keys vacation was ruined by the owner of the Sea Bird Marina. If you are willing to risk dealing with these horrible people know the boat slips are poor ( a 4' dock-age) with no amenities a marina should provide boaters like electricity and water for the boat. The rule for the boat ramp is no powering the motor on or off the trailer so If you have a big boat you are likely not going to trailer well. The kind folks in Marathon 20 miles away rescued us from what could have been an even worse situation. Staying on Long Key with a boat and trailer is risky business I am sad to report if you are relying on the services of the Sea Bird Marina. read more

This place sucks. Worst customer service I've come across. First we asked if we could wash our boat after pulling it from the water, and they said we could. Well washing the boat the owner that we talked to comes and states " you need to stop immediately" , so clearly they do not believe in following through with their words. Well our trip to Islamorada started off great and then went quickly down hill. Trailer problems the whole way down starting in the middle of Alligator Alley and ended up limping in to Sea Bird on 3 wheels. The friendly and courteous staff and customers of this Marina worked with me to get my boat in the water. I did not experience the same service that others have. I just used the ramp for getting my boat in the water. I did not store my boat, trailer, or any vehicles at this location over night. Details: Since our trailer was on 3 wheels the ride height of the trailer was too low to clear the grade of the ramp. With the help of many we were able to jack the boat off the hitch, flip the ball and successfully get the boat unloaded in to the water damage free. This marina may not be the fanciest but if you are looking for some nice Floridians to help get your boat wet this is a very convenient and nice location. Boat is a 30 foot concept. read more
