Whether you're visiting from out of country, out of state, or were born and raised in Los Angeles/Orange County (like me), I promise you will not regret booking anything with Nick!! Experience 10/10 - My husband and I booked a February nighttime lobster diving excursion. The whole experience from start to finish was a core memory. Nick is super friendly and easy to talk to. He is an expert in his field and has fascinating stories so make sure you ask any question that pops into your head! The kelp forest ecosystem is really unique and how many chances do you get to explore it at all let alone at night? Safety 10/10 - My husband and I are not the most adventurous or active people and were a little nervous (very nervous in my case) about ocean swimming at night. Nick was VERY knowledgeable and reassuring, putting all our fears at ease. He assessed our prior experience and comfort levels and completely tailored the experience to us. While in the water he is professional and attentive, guiding you and directing your attention to the sea life (he brought many small lobsters and items of interest up from the bottom for us to hold, so cool!). He checks in on your comfort regularly and will escort you back to the beach with no fuss the moment you're ready (even if you haven't caught anything and then returns himself to finish diving for your dinner). Comfort 10/10 - Nick provides every piece of equipment you could possibly need. He makes sure you are well fitted in your dive gear. If you're worried about water temps, don't. The ocean will feel like a warm bath once you're geared up. After you're done diving, Nick buries you in warm sweaters and blankets and treats you to hot chocolate from a thermos so that you don't even notice the chill. Food 1000/10 - OH MY GOD. I am spoiled for uni and lobster for the rest of my life. Absolutely incredible to watch Nick prep and cook the fresh catch right on the beach while you sip hot cocoa. Mind blowing to actually eat the decadent uni and the sinfully buttery and sweet lobster. We were completely stuffed by the end and still had lobster meat left over!! 3 months later and I still daydream and drool over it... 2 small notes to make sure you get the most out of your time with Nick: 1. Go with the flow. Life happens, things don't run exactly on time, you're booking an experience in nature, and nature doesn't always cooperate. Just enjoy the process and you won't regret anything. 2. I went for the nighttime lobster hunting adventure and it was a fantastic experience! Nick is extremely knowledgeable and experienced to accommodate all levels. I'm new to diving, especially in the dark, but I felt comfortable and safe the entire time I was out there. I showed up with swim trunks and a beach towel. Nick provided absolutely everything else, along with extra gear so I had options to fit my preferences. I also picked the dive spot after he explained the available options, their pros and cons, and a thorough game plan for getting out there safely. We ended up with 3 lobsters and they were delicious. 10/10 experience. This guy lives and breathes lobsters, so if you're interested, he is your man. read more

Nick is absolutely fantastic. My son and I went on a Spearfish adventure and Nick is highly knowledgeable and comes prepared. After the fishing, Nick prepare the delicious ceviche buffet of the four different kinds of fish caught while we were fishing. It was a wonderful experience. It was not what I expected. I thought we'd each have a spear (only the guide had one) and we didn't have any guidance in the water, and the guide was too far to get his attention when we needed help (getting too cold, getting stuck, waiting to spearfish like we paid for). Didn't get the spearfish until like 45 minutes in the water then he didn't show us how to use it and left us again. Though I appreciated him extending our time so long and wanting to continue to go out in the water on his own to try to catch more fish for us to eat, it then ended up like we paid $200 each for him to get to do what he loves while we sat cold on the beach. Also, need to bring your own food in case none is caught. We were freezing and starving until 12:00am (10 hours). read more

Nick and Felix were great. They provided a perfect mix of adventure while making sure we were safe and warm the whole time. The lobster and urchin hunting was fun, but the real surprise was the quality of the beachside seafood feast after the dive. The fresh Uni on a saltine was better than anything I've eaten at a restaurant, and lobster....so much lobster. read more

Nick is both an amazing and dependable as a guide and a human being! I booked the kelp forest spearfishing adventure for my girlfriend and myself. She has a huge fear of open water and doesn't usually venture out further than waist level water. Nick was able to not only expertly help her get over that fear, but also be there every step of the way for her. Even when she showed a tiny bit of nervousness, he was always close by ready to help. After the fears subsided we were able to enjoy our time out in the water! Not only did we have fun with the experience, we also learned a lot from Nick who has vast knowledge and experience about the ocean and local marine life under his belt. As a guide, he's well-prepared and very helpful while being mindful of everyone's needs and accommodations. Overall this experience was wonderful and it felt like just another day casually spending time in the water with a close friend. Definitely recommend his guided experiences to anybody curious to get over their fears of open water and enjoy what the beaches of Southern California has to offer! read more

Diving with Nick was one of the best experiences of my life. I have done it three separate times now, and intend to do it many more. I have done both the nighttime lobster dive, and the daytime spearfishing, and both were epic adventures. The value that you get with Nick is unbeatable.
