This seafood market also has a Food Truck that I met at the 21st Annual Port Royal Soft Shell Crab Festival. We tried several different soft shell crab options at the festival and the sandwich from Sea Eagle Market was the best! It was delicious- served on a soft bun with lettuce tomato and a special sauce. We got there early and ordered immediately before the line was a mile along (about 10 min later). The service was fast and efficent. We ordered at a table they had set up on the long side, and then we waited under a tent on the short end where they had a station set up with extra sauce and napkins and that's also where they had a pick up window. This seafood market sells low quality seafood. I bought a couple of pounds of shrimp for New Year's Eve, on New Year's Eve. When I opened them up the smell nearly made me vomit. Talk about stink! Fresh seafood should never have an odor. I ended up throwing them out. Also bought a pound of Lump Crabmeat. I am from Maryland and buy crabmeat whenever I visit there. Usually same product. Comes from North Carolina. Well the crabmeat I bought yesterday was very strange looking when I opened it. Very gray in color. Not all like I have been buying my entire life. Lump crabmeat should be white in color and have actual lumps. Did not taste very good at all. Don't waste your money and don't take a chance on getting ill. read more

Catering review: My friends and I had a low country boil catered. We had shrimp, corn on the cob, sausage, and red skin potatoes. We picked up the food around 3pm and kept it in the oven warming until 6pm when we ate. We had 12 people eat and nobody was left with an appetite, so the portions were good. I really liked the shrimp and the potatoes. The corn needed to be softer, but that could've been due to it sitting in the oven. The sausage was juicy, but it was too tough for me. I would've preferred it to be softer. Overall quality food for any get together. read more

Ok this was my experience, ordered the oyster po'boy sandwich and fries. The oysters were excellent (bread it was served on was so-so); however, the fries were nasty - barely warm and soggy, like they should have been tossed out. When I tried the captains sauce it tasted off so I switched over to the tartar sauce which was room temp, which surprised me. Needless to say I wasn't overly impressed with the place - 6 hours later when the food poisoning set in I was just flat out mad. My wife and sister also became ill after the meal - my brother in-law came out ok as he did not use any of their mayonnaise based sauces. No excuse for this establishment to not properly refrigerate their mayonnaise based sauces. read more

Went by a couple of Saturdays ago to get some whole flounder and this place has moved its retail operation across and down the road toward downtown. I got three impeccably fresh flounders to make my crispy scored flounder dish. They were superb! The kicker is that they have opened a restaurant in the front part of the new building, retail being in the rear. They had been open three days and were hopping. Sat at the bar and tried the seafood chowder and clam chowder. Both were excellent and served in a large coffee mug. The staff was uniformly friendly and having a good time. Can't wait to go back. The first and only visit to Sea Eagle Market was a horrible experience. The pan-fried scallops and deep-fired oysters that I had were okay though the scallops were overly charred. My wife's Low Country Steam Pot was absolutely subpar. Almost all items were overcooked - snow crab cluster, clams and corn on the cob. In addition, the crab leg cracker was not clean. I absolutely love this place. The people are extremely friendly and nice and helpful but moreover the sea food is always fresh and readily and stock. It is not unusual to walk into this place and find yourself having to wait about five minutes to get your fish because there seems to always be customers in line. There are a few fish markets in South Carolina that actually owned their own boat and actually catch their own fish and then have a retail outlet to sell it like the sea eagle market. Every time I am in Beaufort I always bring a cooler and stop by sea eagle to pick up some fresh seafood to take home. They have a restaurant next-door however I have never eaten there because I am usually passing through or in Beaufort on business and don't have the opportunity to stop for lunch. read more

Our neighborhood association recently hired Sea Eagle to cater an Oyster Roast at our community dock. I cannot say enough good things about the professionalism of the setup, the service and the food! Hush puppies with honey butter began our evening and we moved on to smoked oysters which were delicious. We had a wonderful time and ate oysters until we had to scream FULL! Craig and his crew cleaned up the tables and garbage and left the site as clean as they found it. So easy and a treat for everyone. Local oysters made it all the more special. Was not impressed with the food. We had the AYCE popcorn shrimp and it was not fresh at all. Sent it back got another one the same way. You can tell they make it and just stack the baskets with the shrimp in it the way the impression from the basket on top is indented on it. Server was very rude. We were very excited to hear about the new location for their seafood market/restaurant and were very interested in their community supported fishery program where you pay a set price and get the catch of the week for a certain period of time. When we visited, the whole fish prices seemed reasonable but the filets and shrimp were overpriced. We like Captain Mike's in Okatie and their prices are much better for the same quality product. We are here on a Saturday night and it was really busy. Surprised to see how small it was. The food was really good. In my opinion best seafood in the Beaufort area. The only reason I couldn't give this place a 5 star rating was the service was horrible. My wife asked for lemons 3 times and never received them. Maybe they were short on staff but when we went to check out our waitress instead stood at the check in desk and was chatting away with a group of women instead of paying an mind of her tables she had. Fresh local seafood for a great price! This is a nice little restaurant with a seafood market attached to it, so you can see and smell all the possibilities. The staff were all very friendly, inviting, and anxious to get us seated and fed. I was craving fried shrimp so I ordered the shrimp platter which came with two sides for just $9.99 which is, I believe to be a great price for fresh seafood. The low country boil tasted as if it was boiled in hot water then had seasoning put over it, instead of cooking it in the seasonings. We were camping down at Hunting Island and wanted to find a place in Beaufort for good seafood. Looked on yelp and it seemed to be the place to go. We went on Friday evening around 5:30 Pm. They do not keep late hours. The place was pretty empty. We were seated. It seemed to be locals. Our waitress was friendly and took our order. I ordered grouper fried with steamed red potatoes and coleslaw. My husband had all you can eat popcorn shrimp. It took about 30 minuets for our food to be brought out. But I was so glad I got the grouper. It was delicious. My husband liked his popcorn shrimp and he had fries. Everything was hot you had to wait to eat it. They also have a great seafood department to buy your own but that section was closed by the time we finished eating. This was a great place to go and the prices were probably the best around. We went back on Monday around 4 PM but restaurant was closed and seafood shop was open but I didn't want to cook.The bad thing is closing at 3 PM on certain days. Love this place. read more
