This is our local go to spot for seafood. Always cooked and seasoned perfectly. Prices are fair and service is always great. We come as often as we can. Our favorites include the soups, combo meals, potato wedges, string beans, garlic tuna and tequila lime scallops. Flounder is always cooked to perfection. This review is based on the takeout I ordered tonight. I want to make this clear because the times I've dined in it's been quite good. Tonight I ordered the battered haddock with a side of fries. Both the fish and fries gave off the impression that they had been sitting out for some time. Luke warm soggy fries and a fish filet which was stiff as a board left me less than impressed. I believe the fish had been previously cooked and left in the cold case until ordered and was then promptly heated. Needless to say I will not be ordering takeout from here again and will instead simply buy the raw flounder filet and make my own Fish and Chips as I normally would. read more

Big fan! Come here a few times a month - wild caught shrimp are hard to find around here and the freshness and taste are unparalleled. Also the lunch specials are phenomenal - I had the salmon yesterday and for under $10 I enjoyed a nice size portion in the restaurant and had enough leftovers for another meal - they always have fresh veggies as sides, but the sweet potato fries are a must. I can't comment on the food here, which I know is the main basis of any review, but this is more towards how my business was handled. I was calling around different places trying to find snow crab for my gfs birthday. This was the 4th place I called. I was told they didn't have any, they acted like I was an idiot because I didn't already know this, then got hung up on. There were other things I was looking for as well as I was preparing a large meal. Apparently they didn't have time to deal with me as a customer. That's fine, I took my business elsewhere. Found this place while browsing on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised! Did not expect a seafood restaurant in this area would be as fresh and good as Sea Lect was! The portions and prices were good too. You can get take-out as well as dine-in. My husband got some seafood pasta dish, while I got a dish with various seafood selections and sides. We bought a groupon for the prepared meal for 4 here. We got crab cakes, lobster tails, fried shrimp, seafood bisque, and 2 sides. Fried shrimp was excellent...so was the seafood bisque. The crab macaroni and cheese was AWESOME. I would have given it 5 stars, however the crab cakes were undercooked and the lobster tails were overcooked. The seafood in the case looked incredibly fresh so if you get any, I'd recommend cooking it yourself at home instead of having them cook it there. read more

Still so pleased with this restaurant, I've dined in and taken out multiple times. Staff is friendly and informative, food is so good! Their tomato crab bisque is very delicious, popcorn shrimp is always a fave. We've bought their salmon for a dinner party. It was so fresh and none was left. Most recently bought their stuffed tilapia to bring home and cook, great flavor. Prices are expensive but i feel I'm getting fresh quality seafood every time. Had lunch here today and it was absolutely fantastic. Yep, it's a little hole in the wall in Maple Shade but the food was even better than the high priced top line seafood restaurant my girlfriend took me to for my birthday last weekend! I had the spicy crab soup to start and it was FULL of fresh crabmeat, not just a hint of crab like so many places would give you. My entree was the seafood combo which I had done with a spicy white sauce heavy on the garlic and red pepper. It was also fantastic. Seafood was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The best part is the price! Even for dinner this place is far less expensive than most other seafood restaurants of this type of quality. Can't wait to go back. Nice little store. Has fresh fish, and about 5-6 small tables to sit and eat. I'm kinda hooked (no pun) on their fried stuffed shrimp. There pretty amazing. Have yet to try anything else. Got buttered corn with it, but it was kinda overcooked and greasy. And a grilled potato which was ok. Definitely will be back for more stuffed shrimp. read more

My husband and I love this place! Our faves are the new england clam chowder (amazing), shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half shell, fried flounder (enormous portion), and the snow crab legs. All of the seafood is always so fresh and we like that we can either dine in or do take out. And everything in the seafood counter looks so delicious! Oh my gawd! Can I say orgasm of the mouth? I've been here a number of times both to eat in and take out and have never been disappointed. The soups are last meal worthy! And the fish is alway fresh and cooked to perfection. If you want to be born again get some stuffed mushrooms pronto! read more

I wish I could tell you what the food tastes like but my wife and didn't stay long enough to find out. I can't remember ever being treated so rudely. Sadly I have to report to the co worker, who recommended this place to me, that we were treated like trash from the moment we sat down. Another couple came in behind us and they were politely seated and offered drinks. We sat there for long period of time being obviously ignored. I know it sounds weird but that's not the worst of it. Finally a kid who had been working behind the counter walks over to our table with a pen and pad and just stands there totally unaware of what he should do or say. It seems the waitress that was supposed to take our order was unwilling to do it so this young fellow was trotted out to take her place. Needless to say it was a hurtful experience to say the least when my wife and I look at each other and realize what's going on and have to oblige these people by leaving. Here's a tip, if you happen to walk in to this shabby little crab shack and you don't look like everyone else in there, just turn around and leave. read more

Excellent fresh seafood simply prepared in a pleasant no-frills environment. Reasonable prices and generous portions.

We came in for lunch and wow, are we glad we did! We usually get take out seafood and cook at home, but today, we decided to eat in. I had the cream of asparagus crab soup, which was absolutely delicious. It was creamy with chunks of asparagus and a TON of crab. Mmmm. We shared the coconut shrimp and clams casino, which we usually get take out (they are great for hors d'oeuvres when guests come over), and theu were, as always, great (especially the orange dipping sauce for the shrimp). I had the broiled seafood trio (lunch size) which had a nice piece of flounder, 2 shrimp, and 2 large scallops. All were perfectly cooked and lightly but flavorfully seasoned -- I didn't touch the tartar or cocktail sauces. It comes with 2 sides and I chose the macaroni salad and zucchini, which was sauteed and seasoned and a really nice compliment to the seafood. I loved it. My bf tried the catfish, which he has never had before, and he raved about it! I tried it and it was really good. It wasn't fishy at all and had a cajun seasoning and crab meat on top in a tomato sauce. He had corn and zucchini as sides and the spicy crab soup, which I also tried and was very tasty. The service is great; the young lady (I think her name is Jenni,) working both the counter and restaurant was friendly, attentive and knew the product well. We are glad we walked here, because we need some exercise after such a great meal. read more

They have lost a customer due to a server screaming at me because I asked for my pickup order because the people ordering said they were going to order a lot from the glass case. I will not be disrespected by a place that I spend money at frequently. Then I was told that there was a family of color being treated well, they didn't know my ethnicity. When I said that I didn't think I would return after this experience, some guy said so what. All that talking,he could have rang up my bill. The food was sitting there getting cold. Also found out who the two people involved were. Asked when I could call back to talk with owner, first told Saturday or Sunday.....then just Sunday. They open eleven a.m , I figured 10 something would be ok. No answer. I really like this restaurant, I am trying but obviously they don't care. I guess they're very confident in staying in business.
