I legitimately don't know how I've gone my whole life living the Philadelphia area having not had one of these pretzels. I mean, they are INCREDIBLE! I was brought here by a local and pulling into a shopping strip I was quite skeptical. However, the second you walk in, you are hit with an overwhelming smell of the most amazing aroma...and that is pretzels. They have so many options and even mini ones if you just want a little taste. On the recommendation of another I opted for the pretzel-wrapped hot sausage and a 'boost' soda (didn't know that was a thing). Holy absolute heck. How they keep the pretzel so crispy on the outside, yet so fluffy on the inside, while also keeping the sausage so moist and juicy - I'll never know. It must be witchcraft. As far as the soda goes, I was skeptical at first. Taking my first sip I'm like "okay, this is just flat soda" but after a few bites of the pretzel, transitioning to the soda, I'm like "okay - this makes sense" - it's about balance. Stopped here on my quest to find pets made the way I remember them from my childhood. This wasn't what I remembered, but it was an excellent soft pretzel! A relative newcomer (since 1965) compared to A&A, Mart Pretzel makes a delicious soft pretzel: chewy crusty with a soft center. Might have been the favorite of my 3 South Jersey pretzel maker tour. As a bonus, they sell Boost! a hyperlocal caffeinated beverage created by a pharmacist in 1913. Back in the pharmacy/soda fountain days, it was sold at the soda counter with a soft pretzel hanging off the straw, according to the beverage's website. Had to get some of that too. [My sister remembers having it as kids, but I don't.] They have whole pickles, so I grabbed one from the barrel too. Because why not? My husband loved his sausage pretzel. I'd go back for a breakfast sandwich, too. If you want a truly local, old-fashioned, and delicious treat, a Mart Pretzel and a Boost! is the way to go. read more

Wow, came here on a recommendation from a family member, and glad I made the extra 10 minute trip before hopping on the NJ Turnpike home. You can tell how good it is by just observing almost everyone that walks out of the place. They're all eating their treat! and it IS a treat! So soft and fresh. Still HOT, to keep your belly warm on these cold spring days. Reasonably priced. I even got one of the hot dogs wrapped in a pretzel. (extra for a small container of mustard...just FYI) These didn't last well into the next day.... possibly was too late in transferring them out of a paper bag into plastic, but probably because they use fewer preservatives than big box convenience stores. Regardless, it's worth going crazy and eating your entire purchase within 24 hours... even if it is 6 (or more) pretzels. read more

One word, "authentic". It's special when you find a Mom and Pop business that are welcoming and the food is really good! This was my entire experience when stopping in! Needed a quick bite and was curious about an orange sign "The Original Mart Pretzel Family owned & operated since 1965!" The pretzel is the real deal and delicious! Perfect for pretzel lovers. Ironically, Wawa is across the street and their pretzels aren't even in the same lane as this place! The sweet employee passionately expressed that she liked the jalapeños and cheese pretzel dog after I asked what she thought of it. There wasn't any pretzel dogs prepared and she kindly said they can make it for me in 8 mins. So, I waited and she was right! Delicioussss and worth the wait!! Also, while waiting for my pretzel dog the employee (wish I got her name) shared the history about the business and The Pennsauken Mart. Many businesses did not make it when it was closed down. I absolutely love this place! Prices are great, people are great, food is great!! Just a small quick place to stop in, take out only (obviously) but they have drinks also. Not 100% sure of their hours but I know they are closed on Mondays and they open at 8am during the week. read more

I've been a customer of Mart Pretzels for over 40 years. Today and several other instances, Mart Pretzels is usually out of the Everything Pretzels. That's ok, because fresh pretzels from the oven are nice, but unfortunately, my wait is made very unpleasant by the female individual in glasses at the register who wants to know how many I want so I can prepay. I tell her I don't know, and that's not good enough for her, so she turns around and talks about me with her back turned as her coworkers look up at me. What's the problem? I don't think I give that many five star reviews out however this place deserves it. First, the pretzels taste great. Just based off that, this place is worth it. Not too salty, not too hard or too chewy. Next, the hot dog wrapped pretzel tasted great too. I got the cinnamon sugar pretzel and it wasn't too sweet. A place like Auntie Anne's will make me sick with how sweet and buttery they are; not this place. They are cheap. Another positive right? They have a daily special too which makes it even cheaper. If any of you are familiar with the late, (not-so) great Pennsauken Mart, then you will surely remember the delicious, piping-hot and perfectly salted pretzels that were served to lines of people on the days the Mart was open. Many people thought the demise of the Mart meant the death of our beloved pretzels. Well friends, that was not the case. The magical twists of dough you fondly remember still exist to this day, and they are right down the street in Cinnaminson. Just like finding the perfect cheesesteak, sometimes you have to travel a little to reach the pinnacles of pretzel satisfaction. If you are the type of person who is down with Pat's or Geno's when getting your cheesesteak fix, by all means, hit up the nearest shopping cart for your soft pretzel. But, if you are looking for the creme de la creme of soft pretzels, the pretzel-equivalent to Tony Luke's or Jim's or Chink's (or whichever spot you prefer), then you will get into your car and travel a little outside of your comfort zone... to the Jerz.
