Will not be going back here. I looked them up online. It was $60 for 60 mins. I go to pay at the end and she tells me it 65. Ok that's fine then I say I'm paying card, that's an extra 3 dollars. Ok that's fine I get it, then she asked how much tip I want on the card and I told her I will tip in cash. I hand her $12 because that is 20% of $60 and that's what the price on the website said. So that's what I brought. She was not happy with that. Asked if I liked the massage and that 20% would be $20... girl I am a server and now how much %20 is. So rude, I was so uncomfortable. Me and my mom went to this place The massage was ok not good but not bad, the staff was pleasant. During my message she left a lot and eventually had to switch people over halfway though, there is insane false advertisement on there website everything is wrong, we get there to find out instead of $35 the foot message is $60, so we ended up getting the 50min body and the 25 min foot massage, they barely spent any time on my feet. The worst part was that at the end of it we gave them a $10 tip each and they where so disgusted, and where demanding at least a $20 tip each so $40 total, which is absolutely insane they don't work for tips, and mine only Did like 20min of massage on me. Massage went very well. Me and my husband got a massage but in separate rooms. At the conclusion, I asked how do they accept tip and she said cash or card. I had to pay the $3 card fee. Ok massage experience, very typical for a asian style massage place. Seems like this place specializes in group massages, as upon arrival I was asked if I was alone, and if I was sure when I said it was just me. I made a reservation, and after the slightly awkward conversation about how I only wanted a single massage, was let to a private room. The masseuse asked how I liked my massage, soft, medium or hard. I prefer a deep tissue style, so I went with hard. The experience was average, and on par with other asian massage places. While the masseuse was definitely working at providing lots of pressure(I could hear her breathing hard), it didn't seem like a lot of technique was being utilized, much just pushing hard at different points on my shoulders and back. She spent allot of time on the shoulders, and upper/lower back, but very little on my neck which was a little disappointing. The best part by far of the massage was the face and head rub, so relaxing and enjoyable! Finally, in an experience even more awkward than my arrival, was the end. The masseuse waited at the front with a tiny cup of water, and after settling payment, the cashier literally said "what are you going to tip her?". Then her reaction when I provided a 15% top was complete disgust and disappointed. The look on her face made me question why I even gave the tip, I guess much more is expected when getting a massage? This kind of left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and I won't be returning. I'm a firm believer that a licensed massage therapist is the way to go when getting a massage, and worth the extra coin, and this place did not change that opinion at all. read more

Just had a 60 minute hot stone CBD oil 4-hands massage. All worries melted away, not to mention sore muscles!

I almost feel guilty writing this because it's clear these people are just trying to make a living but this place was not as promised. We used group-on $70 for a couples massage (similar discount to other spa services we have purchased through group-on before with great success) I know they use stock photos, but wow did this place look nothing like any well regulated spa I've ever seen. We walked in with an appointment and the firs thing he asks is if we are playing cash or card, so I guess we pay upfront, (that's not shady), i explained (again) that it was a group-on, so he scanned it and we immediately went back, no forms, no questions about injuries just directly back to the first room. The room was super small, not enough room for us to both change at the same time. The was a fallen photo frame just sitting on the floor, the walls don't reach the top of the ceiling so you can hear everyone else's massages going on (so awkward), the beds and coverings were not super pleasant, the whole room just had those gross dirty feel to it it all felt dusty and cold. But I was willing to ignore it for the most part we were getting a discount after all until the massage actually started and one of the masseuses was sick! The entire hour she was sniffling moist and loud as she rubbed her germs all over us. You could intensely smell the cough drops in her mouth. It was disgusting!!!!! All we wanted was to go home and shower! Finally at the end we are dressed and ready to leave, half way out the door and they shouted at us to come back because we didn't tip. It was so uncomfortable and unprofessional!! I don't want to tip you for infecting me for 60 minutes!! Tips are not mandatory, they are for GOOD service! Almost feel bad writing this negative review, but I feel the need to warn others of my experience. Used a groupon to come here, like it seems quite a few other people purchased as well. Walked into the spa and was not impressed with the low budget layout. Could immediately tell this would be a little sketchy, but gave them benefit of the doubt. Walked into a small room and was told to get on the bed- sheets were cold and damp, and room did not smell great. Could also hear noises from outside which was not conducive to a good massage. The massage itself was bad, straight up. Nobody even spoke to me to ask if there were sensitive areas, body parts to work on, etc. Just straight to it. The massage consisted of what seemed like having my back rubbed for the vast majority. Really did not feel relaxing or therapeutic in the slightest. Periodically they would pour cold oil on my back to massage it, which was not pleasant at all. The hot stones really did nothing for me either. I hate to write such negative comments about the staff, but it was very evident they were not professionals. I feel like I could have picked somebody at random off the street and pay them for a massage and receive an equal experience. At the end of the massage, I was led out and handed a small paper cup of water. I feel like I shouldn't have even tipped for this 'massage' but I felt obligated to, so I did. I did not feel better at all after the massage- in fact, probably worse as I have some lower back issues that were not addressed. I'm not sure how this place has 4 stars on yelp, I'm assuming they must have paid or requested people to leave positive reviews. Finally, I apologize to this establishment for leaving such a negative review. I know they are just trying to make a living and owning a small business can be difficult. However, I suggest you either vastly improve your craft and venue or seek out a different profession. It seems unfair to con people out of their money for this kind of experience. My final conclusion: I recommend to just pay a little more for a professional massage at a higher quality establishment. read more

Every massage I've had here was amazing! The girls are really good and check in on you to see if you are enjoying it. I love the end when you're facing up and they put a comfy pillow under your head and massage your head. They also stretch you which is super nice! I've done two couple massages here. It's $60 a person which is actually good for the service you receive. But it's $60 for a reason, they don't have the best facility or sheets. The sheet they put over you is so small it covered a little over half of my body (I'm 5'6). Besides that, i do enjoy this place and will most certainly be coming back. So I'm normally a huge wimp when it comes to pain and massages so I normally stick to a Swedish massage but with all the upper back pain that I had been experiencing figured that I would give something else a try. I purchased a Groupon and was able to make a next day appointment. Just as an FYI, their prices right now are the same as what is on Groupon so unless there's a 20% discount code that you can use, just book directly with Sea side Spa. I had booked a 60 minute body massage which turned out to be a combination of deep tissue, hot stone, facial massage, and a short (around 5 mins) reflexology session. It's definitely an amazing value for what you get. Don't get me wrong, the massage itself was painful but it was bearable. Immediately afterwards. I felt super relieved and felt so calm and relaxed that I couldn't even do basic tasks correctly. Morning after, I was sore so I know that the deep tissue massage is working. Since Seaside is on Garnet Ave. I was concerned about parking because there isn't a dedicated parking lot but there was plenty of street parking available. I did go on a weeknight so things might be different if you're coming on a weekend. However, CVS and Great Plaza buffet is right across the street with a giant parking lot so there are options. If you're debating whether or not to come here, just do it! Trust me, your muscles will thank you. If the massage doesn't work out, you're right next to Pacific Beach Fish Shop so just eat your heart out. read more

I went in for a massage Sunday night with my friend. They asked if we were together and we said sure, so we ended up sharing the same room which I didn't mine. My friend got a male masseuse and I got a female. We both asked for hard pressure (I was there for relief of muscle tension and knots in my upper back/shoulders.) No other questions were asked of us and then they began. I had to stop my masseuse and tell her I wanted her to focus on my back and should region, after that my massage was basically her incessantly rubbing my knots from side to side-which does absolutely NOTHING. I could hear my knots being rubbed against my bone over and over. No pressure or technique was applied whatsoever, defeating the purpose of a massage. I really feel like I was there for a skin rub. The only part that was enjoyable was the hot stone and towel treatment because the heat actually aided in some way. The whole thing ended with a 5 minute foot massage. My masseuse put on latex GLOVES for this portion, which is something that I've never experienced before in my life. (And no my feet do not smell I get pedicures all time). I look over at my friend who looks like she's actually enjoying herself and her masseuse is massaging her feet the way it's supposed to be done, without gloves. Anywayyyy, I've never left a negative review before but this was hands down the worst massage I've ever paid for. Complete waste of money, I will not go back. Well, I gave it a try. Purchased a groupon for a couples massage as a gift for my Sweetie Pie. This was my first massage, his second. To say the least, while I understand the people who operate this establishment are there to provide a service and are working with what they have, it is also nice to be informed or included in the process as well have a little thought and effort go into the environment. No explanation, no introductions, no questions of how much pressure should be applied. The whole place smelled of food from most likely a neighboring restaurant, the sound of the air conditioner was disruptive to the expected "calming environment" and the place gave me the vibe like we were about to be involved in a black market kidney robbery. The room was so cramped, dark, and the "décor" was a small wood cabinet shoved into the corner for us to haphazardly place our clothes in, a picture frame sitting on the floor propped against the wall, a small mirror to be able to barely see the mess they made of our hair thanks to the extremely dim light, and a gas line running up the wall. As for the massage itself, considering I have never had a "professional" one, I have given massages and I can relate the "technique" or lack thereof to something similar of someone who is inexperienced. I really did not feel anything other than a little sore the next day, which isn't really a bad thing however I expected a little more from a massage. The lady reminded me of Lorraine from SNL; she was smacking and throttling my legs in a way that seemed like she was trying to murder a chicken, in a less violent way. While she did hit a few good spots at the beginning in my lats, the remainder of the massage consisted of her running her arm and elbow up and down my spine. I honestly tried to be as optimistic about the experience right after we left and am not one to normally complain, but upon thinking back, I am horrified to have taken my loved one to such a place, especially as a romantic gesture. I can safely say that I will never buy a massage off of groupon again nor will I be back to or anywhere near this establishment. I will play it safe next time and go to a professional spa instead. read more

Poor communications - No varation in massages This is one of the first of hundreds of massages where they did not have me fill out a form of the person doing the massage did not ask what I wanted so I told her I was having problems with my shoulders and went for the90 minutes so I could have a lot of time spent on it. I got almost NO time on my shoulders. She did a lot of just pounding with her hands. the first time I said no, please don't do this but it happened 3 more times and I had to say this each time. To top this off she had her cell phone in the room and it went off during the massage. Visited for couples massage and left very relaxed. The waiting area is a bit small and the temperature was a little on the chilly side but once we were in the room it was nice and toasty. Daniel set our appointment the day before, and we enjoyed Nicole and Sarah. Their massages were top notch confirming your desired pressure before starting and stayed consistent throughout the un-rushed hour. The use of hands and elbows was a great mixture for the larger muscles but also got into the areas of the neck and lower back to take out those nagging kinks. The addition of hot stones was a perfect finish to a great massage. We get frequent massage and these ladies are among the best and a great value overall. I came back again since I loved my first massage so much...I got a different massage therapist this time and was very disappointed. This time, the technique seemed a bit more improvised. So much that during the massage I started to question whether she knew what she was doing and got scared that she might hurt me. After being stressed out for 60 minutes, it was time to pay and I gave her about a 10-15% tip since it wasn't an experience that I wanted to tip 20% for.
