Seabras is great because it is a Portuguese owned supermarket that carries a lot of Brazilian, Portuguese, and Ecuadorian products especially for those that miss a bit of that taste from home. You will find creature comforts like Pao de Queijo, vast array of Brazilian meats, and all of your usual Goya products. Having said that, there are also a lot of negatives. The produce, for example, isn't always the freshest and sometimes are spoiled. There is plenty of parking outside and you will find a bakery, a butcher, a self serve food buffet, and a coffeeshop upstairs. Another downside is pricing on regular food and household items. You can probably expect to pay 10% more than a Shoprite or Foodtown. Having said that, why do I continue coming here? Well, I suppose it's the only place I can go to get my Brazilian products and they give First Responders a slight discount too ! read more

There are tons of Brazilian products including Pao de queijo, cookies, picanha, linguiça, juices, and a huge variety of items for an authentic Brazilian BBQ. Excellent selection of Portuguese products, with a good number of Brazilian products as well - and with some other South American products thrown in. I loved getting pao da avo bread from Seabra and there's also a hot line here that's pretty decent, and a smaller salad bar. There's cafe seating on the second floor as well, above the buffet hot line. Great selection of produce - and much to my surprise, includes grapes with seeds which I thought became extinct from our grocery shelves already. I've had the cheesecake from here, and it's great. As well as the buffet items including short ribs, stuffing (Thanksgiving time), and vegetables. When I was unsure of what to get, staff behind the counter came out to help me and show what other offerings I could get. Prices are also great, and there's plenty of parking - which is good for people looking to stock up heavy with products from their wholesale/bulk section. Only thing missing from this store as far as I could see is liquor/wines. I would return to shop here if I was in the area. read more

First time ever shopping at this location or with this store. I have to say, I loved it. It is so visually appealing when doing in store shopping. They have a butcher shop counter, a deli counter, a seafood counter, a bakery area. They also have a large Wholesale area that is open to the public!! They have a great selection of frozen seafood - good quality too! They also have a prepared foods area where you can buy a meal on the go and a coffee station. My verdict: I need to venture here to this Ironbound location more often. read more

This Seabra Foods is HUGE. There are a number of Seabras in the Ironbound, and I believe this is the largest (and newest?). It's in the shopping area by Sol Mar and near Altas Horas. It's located all the way in the back of the shopping plaza, and there is lots of parking available. Great deli and bakery! I really like their baked goods and breads. As usual with Seabra stores, they have a great selection of international food items on the shelves. Like aisles loaded with products from various regions of the world. The diversity is impressive. The supermarket is clean and organized, and people working there are attentive. Overall, a really good supermarket/grocery. Random Tip for Nasto's Fans: They have a huge selection of Nasto's Ice Cream pints and 1/2 gallons to choose from. If you can't make it to the ice cream shop by Independence Park before it closes, you can grab your ice cream/sorbet fix from this Seabra. read more

I've been shopping at Seabra's markets for years now but this is the first visit to their mega mart/wholesale grocery. This place is busy with a parking lot that requires a deft hand and steady eye to navigate successfully as most of your fellow shoppers consider your quest for a parking spot a challange to their driving skills. Finding a shopping cart on a busy Sunday became a quest in itself but well worth it. You enter in the produce department and find every conceivable fruit,vegatable,root crop in abundance. Seabras focuses on Portuguese,European,Brazilian and Latin American food stuffs so crusing it's aisles will expose you to so many cultures and it's foods and seasonings but for me it's all about the pastries,sausages,cheeses,butters,coffees and Bacalao which is abundant. Their wet market and frozen foods are well stocked with a massive selection of Brazilian cuts and sausages as well as a whole room devoted to salted fish with the premium Norwegian cods featured prominently. Their hot buffet and salad bar by the pound is extensive and well patronized and check out is fast with a state of the art self checkout registers. Seabra Foods is a very well organized,clean,efficient and spacious grocery that I could spend hours exploring up and down it's aisles and remindes me of my favorite grocery called Jumbo in Cascais {look it up}.
