They asked a lot of questions before asking to come out (most HVAC companies just want to immediately come out). Counted ducts/ answered questions, sent pictures, and a couple days later, we got them to come out. The tech spent over an hour in the attic testing everything he could. He was honest and patient. Came down and said the ducts are older, but they aren't leaking like i was told. His recommendation was that the furnace was old so not blowing hard enough. If we didn't want to replace the furnace, the only other improvement would be installing a zoning / damper system to increase airflow upstairs or downstairs. Didn't try to push me to buy anything or upsell me. You could just tell he's an honest guy. Took his time and explained things to me. I would go back if we decided to do the repair - we're approaching warmer climate, will revisit the furnace issue next winter.

Don't be fooled by the reviews posted on this site…read more Charlie, who says is the owner, installed a Heat Pump in my home and it failed 3 months later. I contacted Charlie and explained my situation to him and he took 2 weeks to call me back. Then promised he would come out to take a look l. 3 weeks later Charlie showed up and left his customer service hat at home. He simply turned on the system to verify it didn't work. Didn't check the gas levels or for any leaks. He explained he tool pictures and was sending it to the MFG and would get back to me. He didn't respond for over month and stated he had not heard back from the MFG. The temperature was in the 90's that week and I was tired of waiting, so I called a Licensed HVAC contractor, who came out the same day. He tested the system and found that the system had lost all of its Freon. He then pressure tested the system and found that one of the connectors that was used by Ice Air had failed and leaked all of the gas out of the line. They had stated that a Shark Bite connector had been used on a line and it had separated. The company corrected the problem and refilled the lines. This cost me over $1,500.00 to repair. The repair person also stated that don't be surprised if it happens at another point in the line, the original Installer used shark bites throughout the whole line and it's impossible for him to test the integrity of the connector without pulling them apart. I did contact Charlie to explain the situation and he stated that somebody must have been in our attic that disturbed the line and caused the problem. No one had been in the attic since the installation had been completed. Well, sure enough, the system failed again this week. I did contact the company once again to come check the problem and they had stated that another connector had separated and caused the same problem. I paid another $950 for this assessment and ask them not to do the repair until I contacted Charlie. After contacting Charlie once again, he explained that he could no longer honor any warranty on his equipment because another technician had done work on the system. After explaining that the problem was from the original installation, he continued to tell me that he would still come out, but have to charge me for any repairs. Be warned, don't use this guy. He is a huge problem for contractors and gives a bad name to the HVAC industry. I am taking him to court and have filed a complaint with the CSLB

Chris scheduled me for an appointment on Monday, July 8th, for the timeslot of 3PM - 4PM. I told him I would have to leave work early to make the appointment. I provided my address and phone number. Seemed like a nice guy. Day of the appointment comes. I leave work early. 3PM - 4PM comes and goes. No one shows up & I am never contacted. What a waste of my time & busy schedule.
