We appreciated the detailed weekly reports on how she was doing. As a camper grad, we also have free private lessons at the facility for her lifetime! He was dog aggressive and very hard to handle on walks if dogs were present. Being very stubborn, he needed a full four weeks of camp, but came out as a very pleasant companion, obedient and easy to walk. The people at DDG are fantastic, very personable and great dog trainers. They kept in touch weekly, sending pictures, discussing the tasks accomplished and the problems to be worked out. During the thorough check out experience , they trained me how to handle Ripley so that he wouldn't forget what he learned. This was altogether a great experience and money well spent. Sarah, the trainer, had the perfect background credentials, self-confidence and philosophy so I signed up my dog to be trained by her at the dog resort. The protocols for safety (physically and emotionally) at the facility are outstanding. Soon,I met with Sarah and she developed a training proposal which I approved. My dog came home from daycare TIRED and less clingy each time he went there. When his training was complete, I was shown how to do the trainer's commands and motions and now my dog's demeanor in our home and in public is calmer and our relationship is at a new level of trust and respect (both ways). Home Away From Home…read more.... Love Dogs Camp has made a big difference with our dog, Pugsley, since we moved to the area 6 years ago. He was rescued from the streets of San Jose at the age of 1. Before moving to Nipomo, we researched and visited many places offering daycare and boarding, but Carolyn at Love Dogs Camp gave us the most confidence. It offers Pugsley a great environment with no kennels, freedom to roam on 5 acres and the ability to socialize with both big and small dogs. Carolyn has a wonderful trainer - Brett - who's very knowledgeable about dog behavior and nutrition and helped Pugsley become less fearful of other dogs. Supervision is a priority and he is never left alone. Carolyn does a great job vetting new dogs and their owners to ensure compatibility with her existing clientele. She also provides healthy home cooked meals for the dogs at least once a day. Whether it's for just a day or a couple of weeks for vacation, we have no concern bringing Pugsley to Love Dogs Camp. It's his home away from home.

My granddaughter worked there a while ago and had no training and expected to get training, but didn't get any. Instead she was left along with the dogs. She wasn't even officially hired and paid in cash. She thought that was nice at first but then realized it was not legal. She said some dogs were out of control and she feared for the safety of the other dogs. The owner says everything right at first but talked down to my granddaughter and disrespected her. This is not a place I support.

For july 4th weekend they overbooked had 60 dogs there which meant about 5 per kennel! Ot was hot…read moreovercrowded and they couldn't give my dog even adequate care let alone good care. They told me though I was out of the country I had to pick up my dog as he was anxious anf snarled at someone I wonder he is a golden retriever. Was threatened that if he bit someone the dog police would take him and I would never see him again. I had made what I thought great arrangements for that time period not thinking there would be 60 dogs there on a noisy hot weekend. I suggest anyone thinking of using this place check long and hard into it. Thank heavens long distance I managed to have my neighbors help me!!
