Our yard now drains properly and looks great! It used to be we'd get a small flood every time it rained. We can't say enough good things about Seafield! Our backyard hadn't been touched in years. Rotting deck, ragged turf, cracked concrete, a parameter of old rocks all around the yard. It needed a lot of work. We met with several different landscape design and construction teams, but many of them had minimum budget requirements that were out of our range or were booked 6 months out. Daragh and Amie were quick to set up an in-person appointment and gave us some real-talk about what we could do with our budget. We really appreciated their honesty. Then Amie sent over some renderings, which was a huge help in visualizing what the revamp could achieve. And she kept it to our budget. Amie was extremely patient as we asked a thousand questions about pretty much everything. She also went out of her way to drop off some turf and deck samples one afternoon. She was always easy to get a hold of and very prompt in responding. Working with Daragh was great too. He stopped by every day, and even came by after the crew had left when it was pouring to make sure the worksite had enough tarps over it. He'd text throughout the day if he needed anything from us and was super easy to talk to. Antonio and the team were also fantastic---they showed up on time every day, were respectful and friendly, and even worked during some wild wind and rain. They kept the loading areas tidy and did excellent work. We wanted to create a peaceful, relaxing backyard with space for our kiddos to run around. We ultimately decided on a low TimberTech deck, turf, a decomposed granite sitting area and walkway, and then a small sitting area with modern elongated pavers. We added a row of Japanese privet trees for privacy, some gardenias, lavender, and feathergrass, and then repurposed a bunch of our succulent stash. Daragh came over to provide a very competitive quote on what I thought would be a very large project involving the front and backyard. I HIGHLY recommend Seafield Landscaping! Our front yard was such a mess! We thought we could slowly hack away at it ourselves but soon realized the job was far beyond our knowledge and capabilities. Weeds pretending to be lawn that grew out into the street (we have no sidewalk and the city does not keep up with the asphalt so there was no border to stop the weeds from spreading). Poor concrete job on walkway, driveway and a one foot concrete retaining wall that was falling apart, done years ago by rookies. Dying and overgrown shrubs. We tried many different plants that just did not thrive, costing us lots of money. Then we met Daragh! He asked what we would like done, gave us hardscape ideas and cost comparisons helping us to stay within our budget. Amie asked what we wanted in terms of plants (drought tolerant, low maintenance), and if there were any specific plants or colors that we preferred. She drew up suggested plans that were revised a few times through emails, incorporating our preferences and concerns, and made suggestions regarding complementary pavers to enhance the basic ones we had chosen. We were given a start date that had to be postponed due to weather, but once started the job was completed on time by a wonderful, talented and considerate crew. Don't waste your time looking anywhere else, I already spent months searching and did all the work for you lol. Daragh and Amie are the ones for you! Story time! I made a huge mistake, as a first time homeowner, and hired a contractor to build a studio/office and didn't check their license. ‍ this person DESTROYED my yard and ended up being on drugs, stole money from us and I had to fire them before they finished. Then, I had to piece everything together with different contractors, framer, and electricians to finish the structure. It was a disaster and cost 10x what I would have paid if I just went with a trusted contractor. Well, the shed was finally completed but then my yard was still a mess.
