These are best were maybe large because most were pretty heavy...but that doesn't mean they are jumbo. So I really didn't like that I paid 90/dz for what I thought would be huge and get home and see these tiny crabs. The owners were really nice and even provided me with some newspaper to eat my crab. But to say these are jumbo is dishonest. Especially when the price is up there in this economy.

I vaguely remember Captain White's from the old Wharf days, so it was nice finally checking out the newer setup. If I were big on cooking seafood at home, I could definitely see myself stopping here whenever I'm in the area. I picked up shrimp and a whole Dungeness crab. Very expensive, in my opinion, but I wanted to try it. This was actually my first time eating Dungeness crab. It had a LOT of meat, which I appreciated. The flavor was a little different for me--definitely an acquired taste--but it was good. The shrimp was tasty too. I cooked it at home in a light Old Bay butter and THAT was the move. Overall, quite the seafood experience. Come prepared for crowds, plenty of choices...and apparently live entertainment from the crabs.

I can only speak from my own experience, and the crabs I've purchased have always been good. If you're going for crabs, get there early. They sell quickly, especially during the summer months.
