Twas the first time all of us were home together since before Covid. My dad passed a few years ago and we all couldn't be home for it bc it was during Covid. So this was actually the first time all 5 of us kids were home at the same time. It's a trip that had to happen for sure. So getting the boat for an afternoon was super nice and a special day for sure. We got a pontoon boat for the afternoon. My brother and his wife rented it for 6 hours. I can't remember the exact price, I wanna say $450 for the6 hours, but don't quote me on that bc I THINK it may have been a tad more expensive. It's definitely a little pricey, but compared to their competitors, German Brothers definitely had the better price. The so-called "inconvenience" of renting from the vs the other(s) is German Bros is located out on West Lake Rd as the other is located in town...which is why I think they can get away with charging more at that place. The guys at German Bros were fantastic. Super friendly, super helpful...honestly don't have one bad thing to say about them or the business. For my first time experiencing one of these boat rental companies back home, I was definitely satisfied and even from my social media posts from that day and the days after our day on the lake, I referred like 5 people to this place and told them how much better it would be to go with them especially if they were worried about cost. You definitely save using German Brothers and these days, who isn't trying to save money any way they can? One thing to point out, you do have to pay for the gas for the boat and that cost is not included in the rental cost. You pay for the gas at the end of your time on the boat and I wanna say it's like a dollar and change more than what we'd pay at the pump ourselves. Then again, wait, haha, not sure what kind of gas these boats use haha! Just know tho, you pay separate for the gas. I recommended this to 5 different people (as mentioned already) and I'd gladly recommend to 5 more, 10 more, etc. They're a fantastic company and they deserve all the business they can get. We have rented from East Bluff Harbor the past two years. Both years, the boats we have rented have…read moredied halfway through the week. Last year, we were stranded in the middle of the lake. This year, we had just filled our tank and were stranded at a marina. Both times, it sounded like we were annoying them by calling and asking them to rescue us/bring us a new boat. No one seemed apologetic, nor did they care that this happened two years in a row. Boats are old. I guess you get what you pay for. We will find somewhere new for next year.

You just had to float backwards. Wonder why they don't post pictures of most of the boats they rent? It's because they don't want you to see it until you get there after you promised your grandkids a boat for the week. Only reason we rented from here is because It was close to our cottage. Never again. Save your money or spend a little more and go someplace with real boats. Very poor customer service too. Boat was a total piece of crap!

We rented the 10 person pontoon and a tube. There was a detailed (but not overwhelming) orientation to the boat with safety features and some no-nos all explained. We did pull into the wrong marina at first, so beware as there are a few rental spots right in a row. I see some other reviewers talking about the sand bar. Maybe they have changed how they explain this, but this was covered extensively in our orientation to the boat. We had to do a practice in and out of the marina to ensure we understood where to go and how to avoid the sand bar. So...to us, no biggy. The tube was a ton of fun as well so do add that to your reservation if possible! Our boat was in great shape and we experience no issues throughout the entirety of our ride. Enjoy the water!

And I know that's the case because they did it to another customer while I was there. I called them for 2 days to see if my car was ready, and no one picked up or called me back. So I drove over anyway, and everyone's just chilling in the office. Told me my car would be ready in about an hour. So I come back an hour later, and I had to wait another hour. The woman in the service center rang my husband up for the wrong vehicle, and when he pointed it out, she huffed and puffed about it. Then instead of ringing the correct vehicle up, she made him go back to the waiting room. Then told him if he wanted to continue being a customer there, he would need to be more patient? Like, WHAT? My husband and I really liked the vibe there at first, it was laid back. But we have never seen such disrespectful, aloof, unprofessional service. Really really appalled.
