Had a really great experience from start to finish. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and efficient--check-in was quick and easy, which always sets the tone. The pool area was one of the highlights--very clean, well-maintained, and a comfortable place to relax. The beach bar was also fantastic, with a great atmosphere and perfect for grabbing a drink and enjoying the view. The beach access itself was amazing--super convenient and made it easy to go back and forth throughout the day. The rooms had a nice coastal theme and were both comfortable and very clean. Erick the front desk guy was super rude I just packed all my stuff to my car came back in to get some ice and water for a mug for me and my son and this dude told me no and would not let me even take elevator to floor to just fill my thermos up!! Geez unbelievable!!! I hade just checked out 5 min earlier! Such bad customer service spent $300 for 1 night and then get dumped on I asked him if they had any way I could just fill it with water and he said no!!!! Horrible customer service!! read more

Disappointing Stay -- Not Worth the Price We stayed at this hotel for three nights, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The room was dirty and poorly maintained -- the kind of place where you don't feel comfortable taking your shoes off. Carpet stains everywhere, walls and floorboards were nasty. Housekeeping did not come by once during our stay, and we had to manage without clean towels, or toilet paper. Finally stopping into the front desk for a roll of toilet paper. With no ventilation or fan in the bathroom, nothing would dry properly. Mold all over the shower and cracked tile grout surround the tub. The entire floor smelled unpleasant, and trash and used beach towels were left sitting in the hallways for extended periods. The lack of cleanliness and service made the stay very uncomfortable. The beach view was the one redeeming feature, but it was nowhere near worth the price we paid. I would not recommend this hotel and would give zero stars if I could. read more

I thought since this hotel was near the beach it was going to be nice. Sadly, it was the complete opposite! Where do I start? When you get to the hotel, you're greeted by a somewhat friendly staff. The lady in the front is a little rough on the outside. I asked about a tax exempt form, since I work for the Navy, and they had copies to fill out. While I was filling out the one form, they advised me I needed another form to certify I was eligible for the tax exempt. Never in my years of traveling I needed to provide a "certificate" to remove the taxes from my receipt. Then why even have me fill out the first form? I've been to the Navy lodge in Mayport, Alabama, Wisconsin, San Diego, Washington DC, etc. and this is the only hotel/State that wants a "certification" of a tax exempt form. That's ridiculous! Next, the room. It's pretty outdated and seems like they just cover up the old. The doors don't match colors-painted over multiple times, the bathtub looked like it was repainted over and over with paint chipping away; same with the walls, the pillows desperately need to be changed out, and to top it off, the AC/heater was broken. Of course it was changed out while I was in the room, but for a short moment I had my very own ice maker! The maintenance guy was probably the only good thing about my stay. He was really nice and changed the broken unit super quick! Overall, paying $200+ for an outdated room with broken equipment wasn't worth the stay. I'm only giving a two star because of how quick the maintenance guy changed the AC unit. I don't think it will get any better or improve at the state the hotel is at right now. It seems like they try to hit you with all these taxes and make it even more difficult to be removed. Good thing this is my last time I'll be in Florida for work! read more

Great stay for a quick trip. Even though it was in a tropical rainstorm! Pool is the main attraction with the waterfall and multiple depth tiers. Outdoor patio and staff are great. FYI beach access is very limited due to construction on the beach which is probably not great for a beach view room (June 2024). Staff all very friendly and pool house restaurant team was great. Local access is great being close to the pier. Area of town is a little sleepy which for us was perfect. Enjoy. read more

There was a guy working the front desk and was new to Jax. I welcome him to our area. He said they had no rooms left, due to venues going on out at the beaches this weekend. But, he was so kind as to call three Hotels in the area and they were all booked up as well. He really went over 100% in helping us. I found a near by Motel(Seahorse Oceanfront Inn)on Travelocity, so went there and got one of the last rooms. When my two boys were young, I'd bring them here to stay. They liked the pool a lot. i loved our ocean view room!! Slept with sound of ocean every night. Food and drink are good and fairly priced in their outside eating area. Basically better than average bar food. Free breakfast was good but you sit in enclosed dining area to eat it. Insist on daily room cleaning if you want it or they will do it once every 4 days. You have to remind front desk in person each and every am for this! For $400 night, you would think it would happen with one request! No real lounge here and small pool area. My husband and I stayed here for 5 days and had a great time!! It's not super updated, so if you're looking for ritzy this place isn't for you. However, the location is EVERYTHING!!! The oceanfront view of the ocean, beach, and pier is amazing...we loved having a balcony to watch the sunsets and sunrises. The pool and hot tub is awesome, the Mahi Mahi tacos at their restaurant are SO dang good, and the drinks really hit the spot. We felt right at home and the employees were all so nice. Pool towels are included and if you want to rent umbrellas, chairs, bikes, etc. they are right there as well. Parking is super easy and plenty of it even if you do have to pay for it. Don't recommend this place AT ALL! Stay was okay until I woke up to make the bed and found bugs (7th floor). They only offered for us to put our belongings in the dryer in order to get a new room. Unfortunately we had too many delicate items to do that and we ended up having to go home.I'd hate for anyone to go through this. I've been paranoid ever since and hope no bugs follow us home. I'm a loyal Hampton Inn person. This one disappointed me. While the room was clean and the location fantastic, there were a few things that dropped this down to a 2. The hallway on the third floor needs serious work. Someone is going to get hurt on that piece of wood sticking out (see pic). Also, the elevator door had a strip that was loose and swung out every time the door opened, making the place look shabby. Also, the handle in the elevator needs to be repaired. The pool area and breakfast area were nice, but I'm used to Hampton Inn personnel being friendlier and more helpful than the folks that were working during my stay. read more

I have very mixed feelings about my stay here, but it's really not the fault of the hotel, so... 4 stars. This is clearly an older property, but has been well-maintained and is right on the beach. We had a large balcony overlooking the beach, which was quite nice. The location is great for stepping out of the hotel and onto the sand. There is a gorgeous pool with a large rock feature and waterfalls, and even an outside tiki bar in the afternoon/evening when weather permits. The room was clean and reasonably modern, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. Now, the downsides. There is not a lot of parking and it's kind of dark and very tight. I think there is some nearby public parking. So -- be ware of that. We got the last space a few times. My biggest issue was with the other guests in the hotel. Our first night we were repeatedly chased off our balcony by someone nearly who was smoking a cigar--despite the clear "no smoking" signs on every balcony. Ugh. The second night we had a family next to us with small kids (sounded like 4 or 5, but probably not) who were constantly screaming and banging into the walls. It stopped for the wee hours, but picked up again at 6:30am. The soundproofing in the rooms does not seem to be very good--but maybe they were just exceptionally loud. I normally stay in more business-oriented hotels and maybe this is what you get when you are on the beach and have a kid-friendly pool. So, most of the problems were not caused by the hotel -- but it was still not a great experience. I do think I would try this again because I like the property so much. read more

Now this is not the first time key cards don't work for whatever reason, but to speak in a blunt and rude tone was uncalled for. He didn't even ask my name. He said someone will need to escort me to the room to verify. Where else would I have come from in my pjs? This was the best place on our Florida road trip! Parking seems tight, but they have an extra lot right across the small street so that was convenient. Upon check in there are carts available to use and the process was so easy, nice and quick. We got an ocean front room, with beautiful views! While walking to the room, you could see the cleaning staff in other rooms, and how they were cleaning which made me very comfortable. Everything is sanitized. The room is extremely comfy and pretty. The balcony was nice to sit at and watch the waves. There is a tiki bar and a regular bar in the hotel as well, which we used a lot. The beach is literally just a couple of feet away which was also cool. Lots of restaurants and things to do around if you are looking. Check out took less than a minute. I wish I could give 0 stars. Where do I start. My best friends wedding was scheduled here this weekend. The sales person Elizabeth messed up and double booked another wedding and didn't tell anyone. Took deposits from the bride and confirmed everything then we showed up the day before the wedding and found out. All she had to say was well I guess that's my bad. No offer to help correct or find another venue or anything. Did offer chocolates in their room. Not sufficient compensation for ruining their wedding. So now the wedding will be down the street In a dark store front church that's painted black inside. It's the only place we could find with one day notice. And twice the cost. No catered reception just cake now. Shame on you Elizabeth and Hampton Inn The hotel: The place is clean. That's the extent of the positive. Lots of deferred maintenance in an old hotel. Stayed here for our 22nd wedding anniversary and the service was great. The staff, in particular it was the front desk young lady, Tiffany surprised us with a platter of chocolate-covered strawberries that we are delicious. The hotel also has great access to the beautiful sands if Jacksonville Beach where we relaxed the sounds of the waves crashing onto the shores. We will be back again someday and I am highly recommending it to anyone who is reading my review. By the way, the room was great. read more

Zero Stars! I don't know even where to begin except this is a pathetic location and hotel for a wedding! I went to pay the food bill at 12:00 on Friday, 9/8/23, and was greeted by another hotel service person who told me Elizabeth was gone for the day. I had to explain to this service person I was there to finish paying as our wedding was to be there on Saturday, 9/9/23. I was told we would not be having our wedding on Saturday as there was another party to have their wedding at this location. I said we paid a deposit and my wife had several back and forth emails/calls with Elizabeth- sales and service for events to host our wedding. Our paperwork was dated for this weekend but was told if our paperwork wasn't signed and finished with Elizabeth we would not be allowed to have a venue. Our deposit was taken on a contract for the wedding weekend of 9/9/23! My wife then spoke with Elizabeth and all she could say was "my bad" and offered zero support or anything to have our wedding. Pretty much washed her hands of us and my wife had to find another venue, food, changes of services with vendors and try to contact all who RSVPd for the wedding in less than 24 hours! You all are the worst individuals to work with! Ruined our wedding day and basically could care less!! Elizabeth Miller shouldn't be employed with any business who offers services as she was the most unprofessional person and lacked any kind of care or concern to the customers which ruined my wife's day!! One and a half days before the wedding the Bride found out that she have no venue cuz this hotel's director of sales doubled booked their venue. All the director of sales could say was "my bad"! Imagine!!!!!.... So the couple who were to be married had less the 40 hours to find a venue and move caterers/dj/cake/guests etc! Plus for four days this hotel had 2 out of 3 elevators not working. And in all that time there was no evidence of elevator repair persons. I am in a wheelchair so stairs were not an option. So Hampton Inns I will never stay with y'all again anywhere read more

What a lovely spot for a vacation! Reasonably priced, given the area, though there is a ton of competition for your attention and money. So do shop around. What to know? I'll get the negatives out of the way first. This Hampton Inn (in the Hilton family) is a bit more upscale than what you would find off the side of some interstate highway. However, there are some dingy areas. See: the bathrooms near the pool which, during the entire three-day stay, had grubby floors with wet toilet tissue strewn along. Speaking of things out of order, the jacuzzi also wasn't working properly. Too cool, and the water was too low. Bummer. Felt like being in an oversized tub. And one of the pool lights was busted. Someone pulled it out of the water, posted an emergency cone and sat it on the edge in a way that beamed light to a random wall. Why? Also, you will likely find rust. On the fixtures. On the lamps. On the balcony. On the furniture. Yup. Last thing: There is an amazing, full breakfast (eggs, bagels, waffles, ham, sausage, toast, oatmeal, etc.) that comes with the price of your stay. Yay! But, like most places where humans congregate in droves, it will be a grab fest for your life! Goodness, I have never seen -- since college -- so many people clamoring for the last scabs of breakfast! That said, bring your buckets of patience. And, yes, it gets noisy around. This is a VERY family friendly location, so expect to see children running around (where are your parents?!) and splashing in the pool. Now to the happy bits. The hotel pushes right up against the beach. You have the option of ocean views or partial views. The only difference is how you orient your body -- the partial views seem like they would also be lovely. Granted, you may not get a sunrise view, or a view of the pool, which means you would be staring directly at another building. There are several walkways directly to the beach. From your room, you can have your feet in sand in under 10 minutes. And that included the elevator ride. There is no room service, but you can order from the on site grille and tiki bar. Standard bar food: hot dogs, burgers, fried eats, chips -- that sort of thing. They do run a happy hour Monday through Thursday, and have live music on Wednesdays. Also, the Hampton Inn is located in a fairly active part of town. You are within very close driving distance to grocery stores, shopping, convenience stores, bicycle rental shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, the pier and more. The king room was spacious enough to accommodate four people, and included a pullout sofa bed, a microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge with a fairly weak freezer. There is also a sweet-looking flat screen TV (we never turned it on). WIFI is very reliable. Staff is mostly cordial and helpful. Go team! PLUG: Check out Metro Diner if you can't stand to be bothered with the hotel breakfast. It gets pretty busy too, but yum yum!!! read more

I recommend staying elsewhere. There's plenty of options on Jacksonville Beach. * I will note that the team cleaning the rooms were lovely and very kind. Also the front desk receptionist that helped check me (younger male with longer hair) was very nice. I'm not sure about other rooms, but I stayed in an oceanfront room that had damage in the room. The couch was ripped, bathroom flooring moved like it was damaged when you walked on it and the overall odor in the room was horrible. You pay extra for oceanfront rooms and this was a horrible experience. I had a charge on my account for the guest shop and I never purchased anything from it. The evening front desk receptionist Carol put my room number on a piece of paper to notate a noon check out and that turned into me being charged for someone else's drinks? This morning as I was checking out I mentioned that I had an unauthorized charge on my account and the front desk manager/receptionist looked up my account and said Carol put that you got drinks. I kindly said I didn't get drinks or anything from the shop and this guy proceeds to roll his eyes at me when I ask for the charge to be removed. I had to defend myself that I didn't purchase these drinks, and this guy had the worst attitude. I only got a notification for my refund once I called Hilton's customer service line to report it because he didn't provide me with a printed out changed invoice and didn't immediately change it. I know everyone has a different perspective and viewpoint. I stay at Hilton properties every chance I can. This is the worst experience I've had. Don't recommend. read more

My husband and I booked a stay at this beachfront hotel for our anniversary weekend. It is clean, with great staff, comfortable beds, amazing pool, hot tub, and beach access. We enjoyed every second of our stay. This is a very family friendly hotel, so if you're looking for a kid free weekend, this probably isn't the place for you. When we returned, she asked how my daughter was, and then she asked staff to get lots of towels for her! I asked her if they had any lidocaine aloe vera gel, and she immediately walked into the mini store and showed me where it was grabbed that grabbed a bunch of waters and checked me out and just made my night way easier. I've been here a number of times and my stay is always pleasant. Right on the beach (literal steps from it), nice staff, free breakfast, and they usually have cookies and fruit water out for guests. The rooms are also clean, spacious, and kept up to standard. Of course my favorite part is the pool area (looks like a lot of fun for kids and families) and then the tiki bar overlooking the beach. The tiki bar has cute string lights and tons of bar games like cornhole and jenga. The drinks are decently priced (around $9 for frozen drinks like pina coladas) and delicious! The gym is meh (perfect excuse not to workout while on vacation I guess!) and the continental breakfast is nothing to write home about. But I think the tiki bar and pool more than make up for the shortcomings with the amenities. Lastly, the view on the oceanfront rooms is breathtaking. So nice waking up to that around sunrise. The location is unbeatable - I recommend checking this hotel out for your vacation! read more

We rented the back room for a Celebration of Life remembrance for Kent Gillis 10/24/20... I can't say enough about how fabulous The Hampton Inn was!!! A++++++ They took care of everything... We didn't have to do a thing... The catering staff was incredible!!! Special thanks to Darren aka "Dorian" for all his assistance... Screens were set up for remembrance pictures, tissues were at every table, catering staff walked around asking if we needed anything and if they could help, and they even provided a huge speaker for us to use with our Spotify... Paid for full ocean view but 3 palm trees blocked that pview. At Check-in, I was greeted with water will shut off at 11pm. Forgot..ended up having partial shower. Water cut off in the middle. Temp outside was cold. Had trouble converting A/C to Heat. It was so irregular. We were either very cold or too hot. Tub stopped up. Toilet paper holder kept popping off from the wall.
