While casually cruising Huntington Harbour one July afternoon, the 115 Merc outboard on my 18-foot Bayliner just quit, despite a full service (by a private mechanic) earlier in the year. Fast forward after Boat US towed it to Seal Beach Boat Works, the repair (fuel pump regulator) was delayed due to supply chain issues for parts. Ricky and his team made the best of the delay/situation by checking for other issues (which they found and repaired), painted the bottom (it was due), and cleaned and waxed the exterior. I haven't had my outboards serviced here since the new ownership (I do all my own service) but they are a good local supplier for genuine Suzuki parts. UPS delivery is not always reliable so give it an extra day or two, but they can typically get the parts you need within the week. read more

I cant possibly covey how bad this place is. The short story is i took my boat with twin Suzuki 175 engines in because it ran fine but I was getting a low oil pressure alarm. Fast forward 3 months! Yes 3 MONTHS later!!! I called literally dozens of times with no answer or return calls. Bottom line is I finally had to drive all the way up there an hour from my house to find that BOTH engines were apart and not running. They said they were trying to take apart the good engine to see how to fix the bad one! After yelling and threats I picked up my boat and paid $2800!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now neither engine runs and I'm filing a lawsuit read more

Took my Whaler and Yamaha 50 there a couple of times with mixed results. This time the engine seemed to be running hot so I took it in. I was charged over $600 for a thermostat and water pump (crazy price due to covid...ya right). The real problem began when I tried to start it a few weeks after. Nothing! After replacing the battery AND starter (their recommendation), still nothing. When I called I was told that they had no room for any more boats but to bring it in in a few days. When I took it in and we were finally able to get it running, it now started LEAKING OIL! The first time starting it after their repair job, it was litteraly gushing oil out of the bottom unit. Long story short, they told me it was a coincidence and that it would not be covered under their repair warranty. They basically just washed their hands of me. The worst part about the whold experience was how I was treated. I was literally verbally abused. It was unbelievable. I was shocked. I have never been treated like that by anyone before and I will never go back there again. I recommend you stay away from this place. read more

Don't do it !!!! First time ever even writing a yelp review in my life. People need to know this though! I looked around and also called a few boat shops and obviously I understand everyone is busy right now being that everyone wants to be on the water . Also usually that means it's a good sign because they must do good work right ! Wrong!! I called a month advance and was told I'll put you on a calendar and there a month out. So I wait like everybody else .. no problem. First day take it there on my appointment date a month later and I go over it with the only mechanic that works there. ( owners never there ) he couldn't figure it out so he said he'll go over it with the owner. No problem! Keep in mind this is an electrical issue on my out board Suzuki so of course I take it to a SUZUKI authorized dealer! Week 1- didn't get to it, was told they need to get the other boats out first! No problem! Week 2 - keep in mind they never called me once, I called every 3 days to see what's going on. When I called they told me tues I have to pick up my boat because they need all the boats out of the yard due to there electrical on the property so I did. Never touched or looked at still by the owner . Bring it back Saturday. Hoping the next week he can get to it. Week 3 - was told there was no alarms on the computer so it was going to be a tricky repair and must be the electrical.. ok no problem! Week 4- hey I plugged in the computer and there's also sorts of alarms etc. at this point I know I'm being played and know he wasn't even able to touch it until then. Then tells me he's going to change a part and hopefully that's the problem ( keep in mind I'm a mechanic not a boat mechanic but I don't just change parts you trouble shoot !!!) was told by the owner himself he'll have it ready for Labor Day Weeknd I had his word! Friday- today the day before Labor Day weekend. I call and asked did you change that part you guessed it was .. keep in mind owners still not there. Yes I changed it but it's still doing the same thing and owner won't be here until tues after the weekend. So I say well if you guys can't troubleshoot the issues just let me know so I can take it to someone that can! He says ok pick up your boat and just pay for the sensor ( that wasn't even the problem) I say why don't you just put the old sensor that was fine back on so he did . I pick it up! Two months of wasted time and summer .. didn't get to fish or go out on my boat with my family because I thought I had his word. Now my Weeknd is shot and have to go to another place when they simply could have told me they couldn't fix it in the beginning. Sounds to me like they just re-power boats and do services and paint bottoms ... don't take your boat there if you have electrical issues!!!! I only put 1 star because it made me! read more

Took boat there for 200hr service with 231 hrs on meter but unknown use as I just purchased boat. I get it that there may be more problems ( fuel pump, rams, broken bolt in impeller housing ??? ( I think they tried to extract and fucked up) and I had to take to machine shop, another 130.00, They got motor running and said heating alarm was beeping after impeller service so changed out thermostat and they say ran engine at idle for 45 minutes with product like salt away called barnacle buster. Said there was some scales, etc. Cleared the cooling issue they said. Tried to take my boat out for the weekend of the 4th of July 2023 with family and friends and boat alarm was sounding within 1-2 minutes and water was scalding hot. What an embarrassment. Ruined the holiday weekend. and wasted a 1/2 a day. my bill was Quoted at 1830.00 bucks on recorded message and ended up 2463.08 and my boat still doesnt work. All 3 guys there had seperate answers and pricepoints and everytime was different. Fricken Joke. Said you can bring the boat back and we will go thru it but at 150.00 an hour mechanics fee. Did I mention my little brother went by there to see when my boat would be done to put his whaler in for service and told my some kid was working on my tilt rams and it was not one of the mechanics / owners. how is that chargable at 150.00 per hour. I grew up in Hunt Harbour and been into boats all my life and know plenty boaters and fisherman all around here locally including vendors as well. Only reason I went here is because they say they are Suzuki Certified/ Vendors. I will be calling Suzuki Marine Division as well. Took my 30 outboard in for a water pump and oil change and a choke that would not work well, estimate cost was about $350 when I got it back they forgot to put oil in the crankcase and the choke was not working, they tried two times to get it fixed and gave up. also the carbs are leaking gas. total cost was $1100. anybody know a good place to get this fixed? read more

DON'T DO IT! Was advised to contact them to help with a damaged power head on my Yamaha 200. Was told it would be no problem and I sent a check for $2000.00 that day as a deposit. Waited and was told by the mechanic he found a remanufactured power head. Two days later I get a call telling me they wouldn't do it. No problem, even though empty promises don't work in my world, and I was told the check would be in the mail that day. Over a week now and, inspite being told the check had been mailed, I still have nothing. I could have walked down and picked it up faster than this. Good service takes a bit but I think work worth doing can sometimes. Call ahead don't waste your time trying to show up they are busy cause it seems they are fair cost wise and know they're jobs. Any issue or question after seatrial with repower done they were great to sort out without much hassle owner is very available and honest. Terrible!!! My husband Dropped off a motor to be repaired, they had it a couple months. Went to pick it up n same plugs are on it, cord still tight they didn't do shit to it. So Cal Sports and Marine Repair, the boat repair place in Seal Beach, Charged me 266.00 to break the bolts off of my thermostat housing and then retap the holes. I told them to take heat to them but they didn't. They said they checked thermostat and it was fine. After I got my boat back, I started the engine in my slip, ran it fo 30 seconds, then took that thermostat housing off. It was caked hard with dry dirt to where you could not even see the thermostat. The gasket was old, worn out and untouched. (it's a water passage and should be wet) I went back there and they said that they had taken it out and checked it and it was fine. I told them my story and they said, oh it must have re acumulated when you ran it. Yeah,I ran it 30 seconds and it built up a full cup of completely dry dirt that it pulled from the water. It's businesses like these that give mechanics and repair shops a bad name across the board. If you want to be lied to and burnt for your money, look no further, these guys are perfect! read more
