Many banks charge you outrages fees and make it next to impossible to cash a check written on their own bank. I charge customers extra for those banks. I used to go to St. Anne's when I needed an atm, but now it says that I will be assessed a $3.00 fee. I went inside of St. Annes and they looked at my Brighthouse card and said that BrightBridge is not a member of the NCUA or MCUA and it is possible that I may be assessed a fee. Case in point: Five BOA employees milling about the bank with only one teller. Ten minutes later I am finally helped and the simple task of cashing a check was completed. Case in point: Tellers, not bank officials, are constantly helping non-English speaking J1 visa students, therefore slowing down the line even more. I am not knocking the students, it is not their fault! Case in point: Although I have an account, I was denied the simple act of depositing CASH into my daughters account. She was in a jam and needed immediate funds, I even had her account number. These three situation occurred this week at the Orleans MA branch! This is the norm, not just isolated events! Friendly, professional people help you out with whatever services you may need. No one turns their head, pretending to not see you! This makes it easy to get in & get out, particularly during the pandemic. At my local branch, the interior is still locked with the lobby ATM open. Twice now, while paused in what I was doing, bank personnel have opened the door to see if I needed assistance (i did). Just opened the door without me banging on it! Like - I was a customer who needed help! The ATM gives $10 bills, the employees are helpful & courteous and they give a decent rate of interest. My short wish list is checked off at CHB!
