I thanked them and they gave me the money remaining in my account. They gave me all 100 dollar bills. Today I went back to see if I could switch a few 100 dollar bills for 20's. I was told no since I was no longer a customer. I was floored. I asked the teller if I could speak to the manager. The Teller Manager got involved and said that they wouldn't do it. It was against the banks policy and she follows the rules. Again, I was amazed at the poor service. As a 43 year former Bank of America Senior Vice President, I know BOA wouldn't have treated anyone like that. Especially a good customer up until yesterday. I had planned on opening a Personal Account but now I'll go to another bank in town. Very disappointed in Seaman's Bank.

I went inside of St. Annes and they looked at my Brighthouse card and said that BrightBridge is not a member of the NCUA or MCUA and it is possible that I may be assessed a fee. Case in point: Five BOA employees milling about the bank with only one teller. Ten minutes later I am finally helped and the simple task of cashing a check was completed. Case in point: Tellers, not bank officials, are constantly helping non-English speaking J1 visa students, therefore slowing down the line even more. I am not knocking the students, it is not their fault! Case in point: Although I have an account, I was denied the simple act of depositing CASH into my daughters account. She was in a jam and needed immediate funds, I even had her account number. These three situation occurred this week at the Orleans MA branch! This is the norm, not just isolated events! This makes it easy to get in & get out, particularly during the pandemic. At my local branch, the interior is still locked with the lobby ATM open. Twice now, while paused in what I was doing, bank personnel have opened the door to see if I needed assistance (i did). Just opened the door without me banging on it! Like - I was a customer who needed help! The ATM gives $10 bills, the employees are helpful & courteous and they give a decent rate of interest. My short wish list is checked off at CHB!
