Turns out when these cars cross the pond by ship they are subject to lots of debris. Even high end dealers don't always use the correct products when washing your car. In fact after researching car washing products I ran across several threads that said they tell their dealer to never wash their car! That said I debated on buying the electric buffer and products to just get those scratches and swirl marks out myself. But by the time you price it all out it comes to well over $350. So I set out to yelp searching for a good detailer. I admit when I saw the prices I was a little surprised. However Luis got such good reviews I decided it would be worth the cost. He spent over 5 hours and even had to try a different product that erased every scratch and swirl! When I saw our car when he was finished I literally got goosebumps.... I told him our car never looked like that... even brand new! I highly recommend you use Luis. He explained that the reason you have to pre-pay is because he had too many people canceling on him which cost him money in the end. He is so professional and comes to you to do the work. He is an expert and I won't hesitate to use him for even a basic detail. I'm sure I'll use him for any future paint correction jobs. The other super nice thing he did was give me product recommendations. One of the appealing things about GreenWax was how clearly the website described service options and price points for each service & combination. I called and left a message to schedule an appointment and Daniel promptly replied. Initially, I thought I had to bring my car to a physical GreenWax location - but to my surprise, it's a completely mobile service that comes to YOU! The owner, Daniel, is so sweet, communicative, and prompt. When he arrived, he assessed my vehicle - the outside was filthy: covered in ash from wildfires from earlier this season, leaves, twigs, sap, and other fog-inducing grime. The interior was in better shape but the seats needed some steam-cleaning to eradicate signs of my previous, failed seat-cleaning attempts. He estimated the job would take 2 - 2.5 hours and set to work. My husband and I ran some errands and when we returned Daniel was still diligently wrapping up steam-cleaning the interior. He's a very hard worker. When he was all done and packed up, he let me know the car was ready. It sparkled - my car now looks brand new; I have photos I intend to share on Yelp shortly (they're only the "After" images but it's a 2011 model and you do the math, this car's seen some stuff in its day). He pointed out one spot on the hood that appears to be a sap-spot that he wasn't comfortable removing at the risk of damaging the paint, which I appreciate. I'd rather have a sap expert deal with it than paint peeling off. I asked if Daniel has a staff or if he himself works 7 days a week (the website & Yelp tout a 7-day schedule!). He explained he does currently work every day of the week, although he has some help but isn't able to employ workers full-time just yet. I am really impressed and SO GRATEFUL for all the work and care he put into my car today. Now I'm a step closer to selling this cute car! I searched on Yelp for somewhere to go and this place popped up. I have to agree with Benedict G. when he said it was hard to find. I was over on Armour driving up and down. I did find Sushi Deli 3 which I didn't know existed, and no, I didn't stop for lunch. I tried calling the number, but no one answered. I finally went into the repair shop to ask and they told me he was over on Balboa. They even had his card on their counter. You have to drive onto the Enterprise lot and just keep going toward the back and you will see the sign. But the space is small...one way in and out, and is shared with several other businesses. Osiel came out, told me to drive my car over toward their space, sprayed some magical mixture onto my engine and hosed it down with water. The engine almost looks new...not showroom new, but very clean. They also do detailing, inside and out. Great place to go and it took no more than 30 minutes. This place is a hidden, and believe me when I say hidden, gem.
