SCAM ARTIST. HOMEOWNERS BEWARE I had gotten a quote for a…read moresimple job. My chimney needed some repairs, $2400 estimate. It was a little high but the lifetime warranty sounded good. They demanded a deposit upfront to order materials, kind of odd but okay. Upon arrival, they demanded the rest of the money before starting the work, they said they were going to finish it today. They tore apart the chimney, damaged the roof and left a mess within an hour. They then came to my door telling me that the whole chimney needed to be replaced and was going to be $15,000. They showed me pictures of a chimney that wasn't even mine. They pressured my wife, threatened us by saying we would need to vacate the property if the town found out, and they would call and tell the town themselves. At this point I spoke with them and told them to hold off, because the original estimate jumped over 6x all of a sudden. I later had a legitimate licensed contractor come out, they told me only a portion of the chimney needed repairs and it was going to be even less than Rooflines original quote. I approved of his proposal fixing the portion of the chimney that was in fact in need of it. However he refused to do that job at that point and was threatening me with a lawyer because a non-deeded, unauthorized signature was on the $15,000 proposal. I had no interest in doing business with him at that point. I have been asking him for a refund, and he continues to threaten me with making me vacate my property, threatening me with a lawyer and refusing to give me a refund. When I asked the third time, he actually flipped out on me, threatened me personally, called me all sorts of derogatory terms and told me to never call him again. They presented themselves as ROOFLINE in Sturbridge, upon going to the "office" we were informed that it's just a virtual office there. The company actually registered to the address was Ifixmasonry.com, a Patrick and a James. We will need an attorney to handle this matter. Save yourself the time and the theft, and do business with a legitimate company.

Almost all the contractors you find will do either the foundation or the bulkhead but not both. Most of the bulkhead contractors had a waiting list into next spring. I was lucky to eventually find Bella Masonry. Adam was a huge help explaining what my issues were and was very responsive throughout the process. His crew did a great job replacing my bulkhead and sealing where the bulkhead met the foundation of the house. I'd highly recommend Bella Masonry.

We had our old driveway removed, trees taken out, drainage pipes had to installed and a large retaining wall built, the new driveway was re--sloped and we added berms along the sides for better landscaping. It was a lot more of work. Every day his team showed up early, worked long hours, were always helpful in answering questions, and even took the time to re-seed the area by the retaining wall and move large boulders for me to use in other garden beds, just because they could. It was great to have one, reliable and communicative person handle every single aspect of the project. We're hiring them again to do two house extension projects this year. All the bricks were pulled up and the highest standards used to reset and set brick. A cement curbing under the brick not only secured brick but provided a means for directing run off water. The brick was also power washed. (Unfortunately, other remodeling elsewhere created dust and dirt on brick afterwards but that will be hosed off.)

My neighbor did his own system of moving water away from the hill around his house. Keller came in and then encountered rocks and redesigned the plan to have a single sump pump located outside. The final cost was over $15,000! Most companies can put in a sump pump for a few thousand. Horrible planning. Team arrives on random schedule. The company has over 200 projects running and they can not remember one from another. They also leave equipment at your house for extended periods of time. My project was to last one week and ended up being over a month before I got them to finish. However, on a good note. The water is diverted from the house by an outdoor pump that I now have to maintain. Not what I wanted.
