The Champagne Bar by Searcys 1847 is located in the prestigious Village section of Westfield. The bar sits 34 and is a welcome break if you have been shopping for hours on end.... ideally I like to soak my feet in the finest champagne bubbles but in this economy I have to satisfy myself with just drinking the stuff...Security also pointed out that 1) they didn't like my feet and 2) you aren't meant to soak your feet in champagne (hey who knew right!!) All kidding aside...if you want somewhere nice to sit to take a load off and consume something alcoholic and bubbly - not some mamby pamby iced soya latte coffo mocca cocco blah blah blah - then this is as nicer place as any in Westfield. Nice champagne and good bellinis...it is pricey (but not remortgage you house pricey) but it is champagne so what exactly were you expecting....this is not pound-land people. The only thing I cannot get over is that lush (married) ladies of a certain age tend to take a gulp or two of three of the fizzy stuff....get tiddly-er...and try to chat up the staff...why-oh-why-oh-why....did I not discover this endless source of cringe worthy entertainment sooner. I cannot get sued for saying this right...damn I should have said "allegedly"...

Stop off for champagne of course!! :) Remember that this bar IS in the middle of the shopping centre, and balancing on stools doesn't make it the most comfy of destinations...but this is all improved with a happy hour price-list. I am always partial to a little glass of bubbly...but happy hour at Searcys made it almost obligatory for us to stop off and try the rose. Champagne that works out cheaper than wine is always a good idea.

Yeah I also thought it was a bit strange that a bar was serving afternoon tea. Keeping in mind that I had afternoon tea that week 4 times, this was just an ok set. Sandwiches were decent, sweets were ok. Teas were excellent. Great service, of course. The furniture was nice but a bit uncomfortable to sit at for tea. It seemed more appropriate for a hookah lounge. The one thing that really sticks out in my mind was there were these random flies that occasionally would buzz around. Where exactly were they even coming from?

Ended up here accidentally while looking for a place open late - open until at least 2am. The drinks were a bit on the pricey side but the beers were around 5 pounds - not the end of the world. The bar inside is classy and has a good amount of seating. Gorgeous bathrooms as well (I believe the bar is attached to a hotel). But outside, there's a path along which there are many private rooms that appear to be for bottle service. The bartender told us they are typically for those spending 30+ pounds but it was pretty dead late night on Thursday, so we snagged a "cage." I felt like I was sitting in Pier 1 - surrounded by animal print, hardwood, and cast iron. Really cool place to check out if you're in the area, but I probably wouldn't recommend it over the weekend as it sounds like things can get rather pricey and crowded.

I couldn't find a single thing online giving me any idea on the prices of food or drinks here, so I am letting you know. The presentation of said drinks is superb, and they taste great! There is also a selection of beer and wine and other spirits to choose from. They also have a per-person minimum (at least that is what was indicated on the reservation site and email) that basically requires getting 2 drinks or also ordering overpriced food. BUT all that said...you KNOW it is going to be expensive. You can still be budget conscious here, if you know what you are going in to. And what you are really here for is the view, and you GET IT. You may not get a window seat, but if you are nice and patient, if one opens up they may be able to move you over there. But you will still be able to get close to the windows for views and photos no matter where you are seated. It seems to be a requirement that all servers be non-native English speakers who are unusually attractive and must wear pants so tight you wonder how they are able to walk in them. I'm not complaining though! It was the smallest and most expensive restaurant experience of our London trip. But it was also one of the most memorable and most fun. I would absolutely recommend a visit, especially around sunset.

We specifically came to try fish and chips, so we were lucky that The Mall Tavern was nearby. Each of us ordered fish and chips, and all of our plates were left nearly empty. My goodness, I have never had better fish and chips than here at The Mall Tavern. The fish was crispy, and the chips were perfectly salted to taste. I appreciate that chips in England are more like potato wedges than classic American french fries. Way less fried and way less salty, so you can enjoy the actual taste of the potatoes! I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese that we all shared. I don't know what kind of cheese(s) was used, but it was the perfect starter to our meal. For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding for the first time. It was hard not to order another one!! We came in for late lunch, so the restaurant was empty. I assume they are much busier at lunch and dinner time. I also enjoyed the selection of beer while we waited for our food to come out. Next time I'm in London, I'm returning here immediately.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I ordered the beef roast, and we also shared a side of the creamy cauliflower, which was to die for. I truly cannot sing the praises of this restaurant enough. The service was personable and welcoming, making it easy and comfortable to ask questions and try new things. One of the managers (apologies I don't know her name) checked in on us several times and even encouraged a few of us to try additional menu items. The food came out quickly, and once it arrived, the table went completely silent because we were all too busy enjoying every bite. I highly, highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting London and even the locals. A solid 10/10 experience!
