I requested a service on my 4 year old Maytag Front loader related to water not draining properly. James C. was the technician and he was sure to remind me about the $150 service fee while he continued complaining about this company. I asked him for a full service which he acknowledged while looking at chat gpt and the codes. He assured me nothing was wrong... I showed him the slow draining water and he immediately diagnosed the machine as needing a drain pump and it would be approx $750 while complaining more about his company. Do not buy this plan. My oven broke five months ago. After 2 visits and 3 cancelled appointments ( each one after waiting a full month)! ( after waiting all day) my oven is still broke. I called a different repair company and they said that it could not be fixed for less than $800. Some of the things wrong had clearly been caused by the Sears repair man who originally came I have escalated this, written an email to the person who responded to my last review. All to no avail. For reference, I am located near Albany NY. In November 2024, our refrigerator stopped cooling and the food in the freezer melted all over. I called 'Sears' as I had a warranty.  A&E Factory  came out just before Thanksgiving 2024. Some parts were ordered. The tech came back 3 weeks later, just before Christmas, and when he checked the parts that were sent, one of them was defective, so the repair couldn't be done. New parts were ordered. The tech finally came back in February as the appointment in January was cancelled by Sears, after I waited all day for the tech to arrive. The new parts were installed and the  refrigerator did not work after the February appointment and new parts were ordered. The tech was back in March and put in a new defroster, fan and motor. The refrigerator was still not working. Sears scheduled a virtual meeting with a tech in Tennessee. He ordered more parts. The original tech came back  in April 2025 to put them in. The refrigerator still did not work. The technician refused to fill out the forms to say that the refrigerator could not be repaired as he wanted to order more parts. The Tech was scheduled to come in May, and my appointment was cancelled after waiting all day. It was then rescheduled for another 2 weeks and that appointment was also cancelled by Sears after I waited all day! I had another virtual meeting w a tech in Texas. He ordered some parts. The regular tech came back in June and put all the parts in. The refrigerator kept cool for 2 days, and then the temp went up to 58 degrees. Still no resolution. I have called  Sears at least 30 times. I have spoken to the resolution department and the escalation department many times. In January of 2025 I was told that my matter is being escalated. Nothing was resolved. I was told the same thing in April and June. They said that they would send $50 for my inconvenience! Haha what a joke! So, in mid July, 2 new technicians came together to look at the refrigerator. They do not know what is wrong with the refrigerator. Since this was the first time that they were here, they would not fill out the necessary form to say that it is not repairable. They wanted to try some more parts! They said that this would be the last time. So, these parts arrived and both techs came back and installed them in the first week of August. The fridge still did not cool! Another tech came in mid August and can not figure out what the problem is. I have requested a credit towards a new refrigerator many times, and have been told that this is being reviewed. No one gets back to me. No texts, no emails, no phone calls. It is August of 2025 and this matter is still not resolved! It has been over 9 months trying to get my refrigerator repaired! Crazy.  I am fortunate that I have an old refrigerator in the garage that I have been able to use in the meantime. I will NEVER get a warranty from Sears again. I would have been better off to call a local, family owned appliance repair service and pay for the repair. All this money wasted on a monthly warranty fee for nothing and such a waste of my time. So frustrating. I wish that I could give a negative rating. Don't waste your time and money. read more

Bryan, the technician , is lovely. Your tracking and chat systems ARE THE WORST! it has taken more than a week to get the repair done and it should have been more like 3 days max. Problems like: 1.tenants have to remove dryer before repair when order was CLEARLY a stacked unit and no indication that this would not be done by the tech. What are we paying for? 2. tech no show for appointment 3. tech show for appointment but did not bring part 4. I think there might have been another no show last week 5. lack of communication/coordination between online scheduling re: additional information that wasn't given to tech and email with one date of service on the face of the email and another date in the calendar entry HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SYSTEM CHAT options were inadequate. I spent at least 4 hours trying to reach a human being. We have given our tenants a rent rebate because they were not able to use the equipment and our protection plan value is laughable. read more

At this point I don't have good words. the repair to the washer was completed on the 3rd visit on the first and second visit the connected dryer has worked without issue. On the third visit my washer was finally fixed. it should have been fixed on the second visit. after this third visit my dryer surprisingly no longer works. I will admit I did not immediately double check his work. I find it strange that my dryer suddenly doesn't work as though a single switch inside or a single plug has not been plugged in. the light does not even come on like someone didn't flip a switch inside. will this cost me another $99 plus tax to diagnose the issue, I DON'T KNOW. I DO KNOW I CAN NOT GIVE A GOOD REVIEW AFTER SEEING MY DRYER SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. read more

Sears Home Service $165 Diagnostic fee Scam! I scheduled an appointment to repair my GE Dryer in Hempstead, NY and explained the issue was the timer needs to be replaced. The Sears representative on the phone that the cost for the visit is $165, however, the charge will be applied towards the cost of the repair not including the part. The service order number is 42284870. On 4/3, the Sears tech showed up and confirmed the issue was the timer but stated the labor cost is always a minimum of $350 to $400 not including the part. The cost of the labor plus the part would then exceed or equal the cost of buying a new one. I explained to the tech that the Sears Customer representative never stated there is a minimum labor cost to repair equal to $350 to $400 not including the part, and if I was informed of this information, I would not have booked the appointment. Sears Home Services should credit the charge of $129.71 since they are withholding information on what the base labor charge is to customers which is critical to making a financial cost effective decision on whether to book an appointment that has a $165 fee. The tech spends less than 5 minutes at your home, before they tell you the excessive base labor charge of $350 to $400. Hence, they are making $165 for less than 5 minutes of work which is a scam if done in the aggregate and multiple homes are done in one day read more

Absolutely positively wretched. I couldn't imagine a worse experience if I tried. They make an appointment for you between 8am - 5pm on a day of THEIR choosing, which you reschedule. But then they reschedule your appointment to another day of their choosing, again 8-5. Apparently, the world of GE appliance users don't have jobs. They actually rescheduled an appointment booked for Friday March 15 to today, March 12, while I was at work. I went home to be there. No one showed up. No one called. And as you can imagine, there is no way to reach a human being with Sears. But it gets worse. This isn't the first such appointment. This is the fourth! The first time the guy showed up and didn't have parts. So he ordered them and I paid $700. The parts arrived and I had to schedule another appointment for the actual repair, which they rescheduled! The guy attempts the repair and he didn't fix the problem. So I scheduled a third appointment and another guy shows up without the necessary parts, which he orders. And I'm still awaiting the fourth visit from Sears.... which was supposed to happen today, March 12. Sears is beyond atrocious. read more

Excellent service. Technician very efficient. He was familiar with my washer and dryer. Jason was very thorough in his Inspection of the older dryer and three year old washer. We placed an order for our refrigerator repair on 2/28/2024, and with assistance from the secure service, we paid the service fee of $100.00 via text, and received a scheduled appointment for 2/1/2024. After waiting all day for the technician to arrive, we called to be informed that we have no scheduled service. Over the next two hours we made seven calls and spoke with ten service representatives. Further searching and three hours later, we found out that there are three contracts we have with Cinc. One under Sue Wilson-Deane's name and two under Willie M. Dean, Jr's name. One of Dean's orders had been canceled in December when we learned we had two service orders with Sears for the same appliance. The other order was with my Utility but has no appliance coverage I was unable to enter my request via Text because it only offered plumbing and electrical services, so I called in and they helped me make the $100.00 payment with the secure service contact. We received a new schedule date of 3/4/2024, and the service tech arrived at 0800. He briefly examined the refrigerator, and informed me that he had to order a part and asked me to sign for it. I signed and he then informed me that it would take 14 days for the part to arrive. This meant we would be without a refrigerator for 32 days total. I expressed my displeasure and unsatisfaction with that plan, and he informed me that if that didn't satisfy me, then I could purchase another refrigerator. I suggested that he should never tell a customer that, and he asked that I lower my voice. I informed him that I am a very experienced parts and service representative and all parts can be delivered withing 24 hours. He informed me that that wasn't Cinc's process, and if that wasn't good enough, I can purchase a new refrigerator. I asked him to leave my home and never come back until he learned and understood the meaning and objective of customer service, and customer satisfaction. I was sure I could get better answers from Sears directly, but after four hours, I gave up and call Cinc again. Cinc hadn't received the Tech's report and couldn't provide the status of my repair, but promised to call me upon receipt. Then at 3:50 p.m. today, I received an automated call promising a service representative would be at my house tomorrow 3/4/2024. Looks like Cinc is reversing the clock to try again. Things you should do... never mind, I got a feel for your organization, and it's a tough road to repair. While I'm doubtful that Cinc can be fixed, I'm sure my frig can, so I'll just go with the flow. After all, once there were no refrigerators, and my cooler does keep ice. Forty years I spent traveling the globe with a Skunk-works team fixing some 1400 companies to do business with GE, but Cinc takes the cake. read more
