Sooo... where do I start. I made an appointment to get my air ducts cleaned. The appointment was canceled twice. I honestly thought it was an error as the home office is in a different state. Appointment #3 they didn't fully cancel it, they rebooked to to the following Monday. Monday came but I was never given an appointment time window. I kept calling and was finally told that someone would be out between 12pm-5pm. They tech came around 3pm. He was polite but unprofessional if that makes sense. Like he never was disrespectful but he didn't explain the process, he just sat on my stairs at the end never letting me know he was ready for payment... it was just weird lol. He cleaned all of the air ducts and the return. However he didn't hang a "curtain" or anything to catch the dust. And the mess was left for me to clean myself. Sears is the cheapest one I found so I guess you get what you pay for. read more

They are a scam. They come and diagnose, you order the part and pay for it in advance. The part is shipped to you and then you have to reschedule them to return. What a joke. My dryer was not repaired yet but warning do not believe the next day repair bs they try to give you. I did get a technician the next day, only to charge me 600.00 for my dryer repair and to schedule an appointment for the following week. Now i am one day away from the repair that i already paid for and they EMAIL me to let me know they rescheduled my appointment. For another week away. What happened to next day repair. I looked into Maytag parts delivery and they offer next day and 2-3 day shipping so why is my part going to take so long. My dryer is barely 6 years old. It's not some old obscure part. Now i am not sure what to do, i have paid for a service that hasn't happened yet and i am out of a dryer. Oh and by the way the tech that came left my dryer torn apart. So i cannot even use it for small air dry loads. Promised the appointment for less than a week now i am looking at two weeks. I am not happy. Service not great. Quality well if you think having your dryer torn apart and left in pieces is quality then Sears is for you. Value lol value the tech told me they are charged me a additional 100.00 fee for the repair. why for a second person to be there when he stated he does not need that second person. no customer support at all. Title: Unreasonable Pricing and Lack of Transparency I recently hired this company for a dryer repair. My experience was incredibly disappointing. The service was not only overpriced but also lacked any clear communication about the cost beforehand. When I booked the service, i was told there would be a diagnostic fee which would be included in the final price. The tech was great, but after he completed his diagnostic, he fixed the problem without discussing with us first. he was here no more than 10-15 minutes and the final bill (which was labor only) came out to $300!! that would equate to and hourly rate of $1200. The work itself was adequate, but it certainly wasn't worth the price I was charged. Transparency around pricing should be a priority, and this company failed miserably in that regard. I won't be using their services again and would advise anyone considering them to get a written quote upfront to avoid unexpected costs. read more

Sears Home Services for Elizabeth City, NC: The scope of the original diagnosis changed from one part needed to two parts needed, thus affecting the total cost of initial repairs. The parts ordered arrived broken. The next scheduled repair date was cancelled then rescheduled for nearly two weeks later. I had to change that to three days sooner because we had already made plans to be away for the holidays. The follow-up service required the replacement of a third part that, if initially checked, may have been the root cause of the problem. Therefore I do not trust the original diagnosis for which I had already paid in full. Overall, going through Sears Home Maintenance was a mistake and was unsatisfactory. After today's service the original problem has not been resolved and our GE dryer does not work at all. I have instructed my bank to dispute the charge for the full amount. I have also called the local service technician/contractor to ask him to return with urgency to complete the job. Avoid this service company! It has cost us over $437.00 and still no working dryer! read more

Sears home services should not ever be used for GE dishwasher repair. Unfortunately for me, they were contracted for warranty repairs - sending four different technicians on four different dates - who ordered four different parts and couldn't troubleshoot a hose leak. This is the most inept and unprofessional repair service that I have ever used. I had to have the warranty company fire them and replace them with a local GE appliance certified technician who repaired the dishwasher on the first visit. To add insult to injury, the fourth technician left the pump and hose disconnected, but did secure the dishwasher back in place. All he had to do was connect the pumps hoses. And the original pump worked - did not need to be replaced. read more

One Star because I cannot give a lower rating. The technician assigned to replace the Samsung icemaker claims we were not at home when they arrived. This is an outright lie. I spent the afternoon and evening in my chair in the lving room with a full view of the street and front door. I was sitting there when the technician claims he arrived and no one answered. I wasted a full day and had to reschedule. They verified the reschedule date then went silent. No emails, no texts and now claim we did not have a claim with them. I will be at Lowes tomorrow demanding action or at the very least, reimbursement of the extended warranty. I hold Lowes responsible becuase they are subcontracting these extended warranties to a very unreliable and unprofessional company. read more

Sears Appliance Repair is a scam; any positive review has to be fake. I was given a window when they would arrive; my son lost wages waiting 4 hrs & they never showed up. I got a call late in the day while I was at work & was told the technician was at my house. I was not notified that he was on his way. He wouldn't wait 20 min for me to get home after we'd waited for him for hrs. When I tried to call, I couldn't get a live person. We requested a maintenance of our HVAC system for our condo. The unit is accessed through a hatch in the roof of the top level which requires a ladder. The man didn't have one, so I ran to my daughte's house and got one. The man went up and spent about 5 minutes. I asked him to mark the unit with a marker with my unit number but he didn't do it. He looked at the outside of the unit on the outside of my unit in a door next to my front door. He asked if I had bleach, which I did not have. so he told me to get some and pour it into the tubing in that area. Overall, I felt like nothing was really done thar could be called maintenance. It was a waste of my time and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. We paid nothing and got nothing. read more

CAVEAT EMPTOR! Run away and do not hire sears repair. Technician was knowledgeable and good, but service fees insanely expensive. My elderly mother's dryer needed a new thermal fuse ($5 -$!20 part before markup). It is a simple replace and takes less than 30 minutes. Sears replaced and charged $299 for the labor. Sears is insanely expensive and equates to highway robbery. Shame as the Sears name used to stand for good service for a great value. I do not recommend Sears repair under ANY circumstance. read more

American Home Shield sent out Sears Home services (Md) 314-788-5960 to see why my dishwasher was leaking. The tech Ijaz Farooq came and just ordered every part possible without pulling the dishwasher out cause the piping is old. He then returned Feb 6th and replaced the parts. He then told my wife that he isn't hooking up the water cause again the pipes are "old". He then proceeded to "check the functionality" but dumping water in the bottom and making sure it drained. My wife then called me cause the tech told her he isn't pushing dishwasher back into the hole and started raising his voice at her. My wife had brain surgery not long ago and can't have her blood pressure sky rocket plus what professional yells at woman let alone anyone. After all is said and done I still don't have a working dishwasher, I had a pissed off wife to calm down, a pissed off dog that knows her feelings and would probably have turn the tech a new one and I now have a box of trash to take out. American Home Shield was going to send out Sears and the tech again to finish but I don't need a murder charge so I guess I will show them up again and fix his laziness. read more

I found Sears Home Services with a google search. They listed a local phone number and a local address, so I felt comfortable scheduling a visit. The technician, who did seem knowledgeable, stated that he was not allowed to perform warranty work for my refrigerator. This meant that I paid $135 for a diagnosis that did not help me. There is no office at the local address listed, and the local number connects to an automated service. it's very difficult to talk to a person, and when you finally connect with a real person, none of them speak English as their first language and are difficult to understand. I will never use Sears again to try and repair my appliances. Instead of working with me to find a solution, they have basically told me they are unable to help, but still charged me the $135 diagnosis fee. read more
