They came out to fix my washing machine. He said it needed a new motor and quoted me $852 for labor and parts. I was desperate and trusted the name Sears (stupid on my part, I know.). The part came to my home before installation. He and two others came out to repair it the next day. The helpers were needed because it's a stackable unit at the top of the stairs with little wiggle room. When they left, they stated that they didn't need to replace the motor and that I would get a refund for the motor. I went to run the washer and it didn't work. I tried calling the number but it connected to an unhelpful AI system. I went to the physical address to speak to someone. The address took me to Planet Fitness. Absolute scam. read more

Waited for my repair person to come in the window of time given. No one showed. No one messaged. No one called. There is no way to talk to an actual person. All you can deal with is AI which is worthless and extremely frustrating. The AI could only reschedule with no info on if the person would come or not and no reassurance that the new appointment on Thursday won't also be a waste of time. I will be cancelling my coverage with them and will never use or recommend them again. If I didn't have the parts that they ordered already sitting here waiting to be put in my oven, I would just cancel and buy a new appliance after this mess. read more

Sears cancelled my appointment midday while I was waiting for service. On rescheduled date, technician went to a neighbor's house (with the wrong house number) and cited that I wasn't home. Complete negligence on their part. Of note, the overseas call center cannot help you in a timely manner. There is no communication system for rapid dissemination of information. There is no direct local number to speak to a human about this or get it rectified. I would think twice before buying an appliance service contract with Sears Appliance Repair. So the number below on Sears' response is automated and doesn't help with anything. Sears doesn't want to help or correct the situation. He was very nice. I was told to wait 24 hours before the icemaker started producing ice. It still is not making ice. The metal arm that goes up and down is missing. Water not filling. He came on 12/19/2025. Today is 1/7/2026. A followup visit was requested but there has been no response. I can't speak to a human. GE Profile refrigerator purchased at Lowes, insured through Assurant, repair assigned to Sears Home Services. Refrigerator not fixed after 6 weeks, including 2 visits. 1 virtual visit (phone), 6 additional appointments made, then cancelled after we waited all day for technician. Parts installed after the second visit did not correct problem. I found it impossible to talk to a real person about the issues. Sear's phone/chat bots were useless and designed to force me to cycle (and recycle) through menus that did not address problem. If there was an option lower than 1 star, we'd give it. Sears misdiagnosed the washer issue. We had multiple appointments given their recurring poor work and lack of follow through to commitments. They didn't show for confirmed appointments, went to a completely wrong address, and arrived 5+ hours late for various appointments. Their customer service is completely managed by an ineffective AI bot and there is no ability to contact a person. When we requested a full refund after over a month of their misdiagnosing the issue and our not being able to use our washer, they agreed and stated it would be processed by the billing department. However, they actually only processed a partial refund. We've escalated through our credit card and BBB. They provided false information to the credit card company about completing the work and responded to BBB that they'd processed a refund. Highly recommend avoiding this poorly managed company. read more

Over the years and I mean decades actually our family has purchased Sears products. When they need repair I contacted the authorized Sears Appliance Repair. This review is really more than just one visit, it's many over 30 years. However my last call was on a washing machine. The tech was able to provide same day service. I must tell you in my experience that's pretty rare. Typically turnaround time is somewhere between 2 to 4 days. The call center was professional and got my details to dispatch a tech to my home within an hour. They text upon arrival which I liked the new technology. The repairman arrived at the promised time neatly dressed with the proper equipment to do a diagnostic test on the 17 year old washer. The inspection was swift and my answer disappointing. It was not surprising that the repair was not recommended due to its age. Furthermore parts would take weeks. At this point it was asking for his professional recommendation on a replacement unit. In other words which units do you see the least. The answer was Speed Queen and Maytag. This information proved very useful in the direction for a new purchase. I would recommend Sears Appliance Repair. Keep in mind if you have a home warranty they have guidelines to strictly follow on who is called and what should be documented. read more

Walter is an incompetent employee. It's been a month since he came out to my house to fix a glass top burner that wasn't working. After a no call no show appointment and I had to reschedule due to sears complete lack of courtesy. When he finally did show up he barely looked at the stove. Didn't ask any questions. Ordered the part. And got my claim denied for my oven door that was broken internally. He ordered the part a week later it came it. I had an appointment to install the part Walter was a no call no show. The reliability of this company is serous lacking, especially when people have to take off work to wait hours and you don't show up. We finally aligned for an appoint on 29 June 24 with an appointment time if 1-5 pm. I got a text at 2:05pm asking if someone was home. Which I was home but because I didn't respond to him in a time manner when I replied 45m later. Walter stated he left the area. Then closed my repair and domain I had to call my home warranty. My appoint time was 1-5, it's a Walter problem he left the area and didn't bother to show up to my house AT ALL!!! Left with little option and needing my stove I go to replace the part and WALTER ORDERED THE WRONG PART!! Complete failure at your job....and probably should seek employment somewhere more suited to his education level. May 31 is when the part was ordered and Jun 29 was when he canceled my repair.
