I called Sears for a door latch and gasket repair for my Maytag dishwasher. 3/6/26: technician arrived, diagnosed problem and ordered parts. scheduled return visit. 3/11/26: technician arrived and determined that wrong part had been ordered. Ordered correct part and scheduled return visit. 3/13/26: technician arrived and installed part. Charged $450.00 4/5/26 (Easter Sunday ): filled dishwasher after dinner, no power. 4/6/26: utilized online Sears system to schedule return visit on 4/7/26 for possible 30 day warranty work. Final window confirmed repair date. 4/7/26: Sears was a no call and no show. Used online scheduling to schedule service for 4/8/26. final window confirmed repair date. 4/8/26: Sears was again a no call and no show. 4/9/26: Called another appliance repair service. 4/14/26: Dishwasher repaired for an additional $120.00. Sears used to have an excellent product and repair service back in the day. I will probably never use Sears Appliance Repair again read more

l was very disappointed with the service I receive. First, Jim parked in my driveway right in the middle using the space of 2 cars instead of parking in front of the house along the street. Second, he was not very professional at all. He walked on my carpet with his dirty and wet shoes making my carpet dirty and leaving tree leaves on my carpe, he should have taken off his shoes or at least cover them. He was incompetent and lacks good communication. He didn't bring all what he needed o do the job. read more

The technician called two hours before the appointment. When he found out he would have to access the unit via a lockbox, he said he couldn't do the service - company policy. Note - Sears did repairs in February using the lockbox. I requested a reschedule of the appointment - he said he would call it in. He never did. Two and a half hours later he arrived at my home and on my security cameras - he took a picture of the front door and left. He processed the paperwork showing a no-show by the homeowner but processed the call as completed along with a charge for labor! read more

I had service scheduled for over two weeks on my dishwasher. The service company had called me the morning of to let me know they don't work on the specific brand that we have even though on the original request form I added the brand and model number for the appliance. if they would have rejected the job from the beginning by looking at the actual job request I wouldn't have needed to waste a day thinking they were going to be here servicing my appliance. read more

Horrible, do not recommend!!! Came out to "fix" our fridge and told us it would be $500 total. They complete the "repair" and afterwards we are left with an error message and told it would cost us another $400 to also replace the fan which was never told to be an issue when it was first diagnosed or with the follow up repair. We would have bought a new fridge for close to the same price and would have not chosen to have it repaired in the first place if they had correctly diagnosed it and billed it to begin with. Now they're fighting with us and refusing to finish the job without more money or offering a refund for the initial service that was not completed. They also don't give you a number to talk to anyone in customer service about it, just send emails back and forth and refuse to offer the full refund we deserve. Horrible customer service, look elsewhere. Update to my review: they sent it to the BBB and agreed to pay us $272. Doesn't even cover half of what they charged us after being over charged initially and we still don't have a working fridge. Ridiculous! read more

The technician came to perform a "Clean & Maintain" service for our washer and dryer. I had to ask him to wear a mask. AND he informed me that the only service they perform is a check on function, they do not perform any "cleaning" as part of their "Clean & Maintain" service. He also pointed out that he was a kitchen appliance technician, not a laundry repairman. The photos are the condition AFTER the "Clean & Maintain" technician had completed the service. This is completely and utterly a waste of time and $150. I have demanded escalation, but of course the phone service has all been offshored and I couldn't actually talk to anyone locally that could provide any customer satisfaction. They promised to call... It's been a week, and nothing. Sears... how far you have fallen. I won't make this mistake again, I suggest you don't either. read more

I don't think you want this review. Your tech came here and refused to even touch my washing machine, as it did not have the model #. No one asked us before the visit. Even though he did not touch the machine, he wanted to be paid, which we refused. It made no sense. He talked to someone over the phone, and he said we will collect it, in a daring way. A few minutes later, I receive an email from your Company that as our washing machine was in an inaccessible place he was afraid to move it. This is a blatant lie, which your Company knows and so do we. You seem to have such good reviews. But why did I get treated this way, I wonder. I have nothing more to say. Scheduled my service a week ago. Was told by phone and email they would be here between 8am and 5pm. Called them at 2pm to make sure they were coming and was told service guy was one stop away from me. 4:50 I called them again and was told a completely different story. They said they showed me not receiving parts yet. I received them 3 days ago. Why did'nt they call be for the service day? Why did they tell me service guy was 1 stop away? I HATE being lied too. The technician who came today was great because he simply showed up. The rest of our experience with Sears was terribly atrocious and I would never recommend to anyone. This was the most painful repair experience. Our dishwasher broke in September. Over the next five weeks, we were scheduled appointment days for the hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. These days were not scheduled with any consultation with us. Both my husband and I work full time (I'm an attorney) and we each have work calendars that are scheduled weeks to months in advance. For each day, we scrambled to try to rearrange our calendars or have someone be at home for us. The first two appointments, either the technician no-showed or it was cancelled the day of. The ONE time I spoke with a live person, they said there was nothing they could do to narrow down the time frames for us. We finally had a technician come (third times a charm), who ordered replacement parts. Another time was scheduled, but then he no-showed. This happened at least two more times before we decided to call someone else. By this point, we had been without a dishwasher for months. When I tried to call and speak with someone at Sears, I could only ever get the automated system. The poor guy who came out today was very nice and had been recently assigned to our repair. We explained that we had to go with someone else because we could not afford to continuously miss work and rearrange our schedules. I think overall, there were about 4 to 5 no-shows over the course of three months. Your service was astonishingly horrendous. If I could have talked to someone, maybe that would have made it better. I understand that things happen, technicians get sick, trucks break down, but this wasn't a one-off incident. And the policy to NOT give a smaller window for repairs is insane, especially when most people work full time. I would give this zero stars if possible, and I would love to have my money back considering how much I lost in wages for all the no-shows or last minute cancellations, but I have no confidence that will ever occur. I never write negative reviews, but this was truly a frustrating experience. read more

This visit was a failure. The technician showed up (second visit) and installed the fan. Three hours later the fridge was still not working. We called the service dept in hopes to have him return and was told we had to wait over another 2 weeks for an appointment. This was right before the Thanksgiving holiday...and no working fridge. After a third visit the technician discovered the fan was never plugged in after installation. We went over a month without a working refrigerator because of a lack of attention to detail. read more

It has been 6 months since I'm trying to get someone to come fix my fried which had an electrical short that started smoking inside my fried due to a recall. it should be fixed free of charge due to that fact. I have probably talked to over 45 people on the phone been hung up and transferred over 20 times.Icing on the cake they were suppose to come out on september 20th 2019. The service repair person never showed up for the 6th time we have had them scheduled to come and signed his own invoice literally forging his own signature. Scam fraudsters, BBB violation I don't know what els to call these guys but they have the worst customer service on the planet no wonder they closed the store at washington square mall. If I could leave no stars I would. The technician came to look at our dryer and gave us a quote to fix our dryer ($570.00 and I could get a brand new dryer for now much more). Before my husband and I even agreed with the cost of repairs I get an email saying they are coming back in 9 days to fix it at a cost of $570.00. I immediately called to rectify the situation except it took 2 hours and being re-routed 5 times before I could speak to a person. This person said she cancelled my service. The next day, my bank account is missing the $570.00. They just took it upon themselves and charged the same account I paid for the $89.00 service fee on. I am still in the middle of this nightmare. I was careful to follow your review guidelines, but maybe my review was a little too long, but then there was a lot to say about them. Is somebody at Yelp reviewing the reviews or did I waste my time on the review about a company that wasted my time today. I believe it would be helpful to others if they could read the original review I wrote a few minutes ago, even if it is a little longer than usual. If you rather though, I can summarize my experience with Sears Appliance Repair. They are not trustworthy because three different agents I spoke with today contradicted each other as to fees and the scheduled date of the service call. The service repairman was Great! The schedulers were a nightmare! They ordered parts for our refrigerator and told us that as soon as they come in to notify them and they would get us an appointment right away - their words were "we will expedite it." Not true. It was over a month before we got the repairman back to put the parts in. They told us to call weekly to see if there were any openings. This is an ordeal with their phone tree that cuts us off and their continual rigamarole to make us verify every part number over and over each time, even though they already had verified that the correct parts had arrived. It was really poor customer service coordination and scheduling. The repair man was great though, no ill reflections towards him. read more

I purchased a Kenmore bbq grill about 9 years ago. It has a 10-year warranty on the burners. I was told that I had to pay them $99 to come out and I am worried that it's not fixable because the parts don't seem to be available to purchase in the parts store (it needs the flame covers too). I booked an appt for first available, which was about 3 weeks away. Close to the end of the service window, I received an update text saying that the tech would be late and gave me a new arrival window. I canceled things that I had to do so I would be available. About an hour after the latest arrival time I called them and was told they weren't coming - they were involved in some emergency situation and couldn't come. Not an update. Not a call. No text. Nothing. The new appointment they offered me? A month later. My grill is completely unusable and I use it a TON. Not acceptable. I asked to escalate this. They gave me another number to call which ended up being 10 minutes of Sears ads and went no where. I cannot get through to a person. I am so frustrated!!!!!!!!!! At this point, I just want some cash instead of fixing it. Sears used to be an amazing company. No wonder they are having issues. SO sad. read more

SEARS came out and diagnosed my Kenmore refrigerator. They said it needed a new circuit board. I waited almost two months for the part to come in and a second appointment. They replaced it and the refrigerator still doesn't work. I'm out 500.00 and still no working refrigerator. They supposedly have a guarantee on the work but I was told they were going to charge me another 169.00 for a second diagnostic fee. I don't recommend anyone ever using this repair service or buying the so-called appliance warranty. They sell warranty appliance insurance which in my opinion would be a waste of money since they obviously don't know what they are doing. It's a shame because I could have repaired the fridge if I hadn't thrown my money away on this company. read more

I should have read the reviews before trying these guys. Called for washer repair and had to wait a week. That's long, but okay. Diagnosis appt I explained all the issues to tech. He said it needed a new part that with parts and labor was ~$410 total. So expensive so I went back and forth but he said it would fix the problem and get us another five years. We did it even though we had to wait three more weeks for a follow up- part has to come and they couldn't schedule sooner. He came today and "fixed" it. Told me it works great. Just went to start my months worth of laundry and it doesn't work at all . Called back and first they told me three weeks for an appt, then followed up and said 9 days. At this point I'm wondering if it will even be fixed then and losing confidence in their ability to accurately diagnosis and fix an issue. At this point thinking we should have gone elsewhere or just bought a new one as six weeks and $415 to still have a broken washer is ridiculous. read more
