I received toooooo many reminders from Sears' service. I got several text messages, emails and two (2) phone calls about this appointment. These notifications weren't just sent a few days before the appointment but throughout the process. I made this appointment about 1 or 2 weeks before Christmas. BTW, I believe the labor cost was too high considering the work done. I'm convinced I was charged the amount of $289 for labor because I did not want to pay a monthly maintenance charge. Technician showed up on time and got right to work diagnosing the problem. Then he said that the part i needed, was, "no longer available"!! What? My dishwasher isn't but 5 yrs old. The tech spent a total of 15 minutes in our home to tell us what we knew and told him when he called. We needed rack adjusters. He didn't come prepared to fix . I know they can't have every part on their truck but it definitely wasn't worth the time we spent waiting for him to come at 4:30 or the $ 118. My elderly mom has a Kenmore Elite machine that is over 20-years old. She had a code pop up on the screen and a call for service was made. We contacted Sears due to there shorter appointment window compared to other home appliance repair businesses in the area. The technician name Michael seemed very knowledgeable and had us take care of the diagnostic, parts and service up front. The problem was the lengthy time window for repairs although the part they ordered showed up two days later. We weren't happy with the wait since we both had laundry to do and laundromats are expensive. They sent someone out sooner, but he didn't seem to understand what the problem was even after we told him the code that showed up on the panel. He simply installed the new part ($500 part) and almost raced out of the house. I asked him (I'm her son) if he checked to see if it was working. He looked puzzled as if that wasn't his job. I ran to the laundry room and threw an item inside while he was discussing the repairs with my mom. He informed her that the number he called her from was his and that she could contact him if she had any problems. Five days later, the washer shows anther code. Mom called this technician and he said he couldn't do anything for her and that she'd have to call the office to schedule another appointment. This horrible service is after my mom spent $884 (up front) to have her machine working and a two-week long saga. Mom was frustrated and we spent the day researching and found a washer and dryer combo for $2880. She couldn't take the frustration anymore. They could have told us up front that she shouldn't spend almost $900 servicing a 20-year old machine and saved Mom $900!! DO NOT CONTACT SEARS!! This isn't like the old company we were all so fond of. It's just a business using the Sears name. We feel like we were duped. I want Mom to get her money back for the parts and repairs. This isn't the way to do business!! You are better off using family and friends to find someone local and trustworthy. I'm telling ALL of my family and friends to NEVER use them. I hope this helps someone avoid aggravation in the future. If your machine is 20-years or older, buy a new one! On 8/28/2024 this technician (Darrell H.) came to my house to see about the issue with my refrigerator. When he stepped out of the Van, I knew that he looked familiar from a previous appointment perhaps over a year ago and it wasn't a pleasant experience... Nevertheless, I allowed him to enter my home and showed him the broken part in my freezer, he immediately told me that the part was not covered, I asked him why and he rudely told me that it's not covered because it has to be a functioning part! I then asked him to look into the issue further because I believe that the part is covered and that my refrigerator is under the protection agreement. He just acted as if he was ignoring me. He then asked me what happen to cause the part to break? I told him I don't know. He then said "you broke it!" he actually accused me of breaking the part. I told him that I did not break the part, and he then said, "well who broke it!" I told him that I'm a customer of Sears and you represent Sears and shouldn't argue with a customer and accuse the customer. He just ignored me. So, he began searching through information on his phone and then told me that the part was covered. I then said that he owed me an apology but He just ignored what I said and looked the other way while asking me to sign my name on his device. After the appointment was over and after he left my house, I called Sears and made a complaint against this individual stating that he was very rude and unprofessional, and he accused me of breaking the part in my freezer section of my fridge & he didn't apologize... The Sears rep said that they filled out a form and submitted it to the routing manager... but on 9/3/2024 I had the next appointment scheduled for a technician to come back to install the part that was ordered and I received a message on my phone that they were sending Darrell back to my house again! so I called Sears back and told them that I didn't want this technician to come back to my house because of his behavior once again. So they sent out Mr. Michael instead. Then on 9/9/2024. I had an appointment for my Ice maker to be checked out and they sent (Darrell) out to my house again! and I didn't know it was him until he pulled into my driveway. I told him that he was not to come back to my house because of the way he behaved the last time... and he didn't even apologize. I asked him had he heard anything about this from his manager, he said no. I then asked him did he have anything to say, and he said no. He then said that if I wanted him to leave then he can leave. I said you can leave. As a long time loyal customer of Sears, I am very disturbed at the fact that my complaint against this tech wasn't handled appropriately from my initial complaint and I feel that I'm not valued as a customer. Pretty bad experience all around. The technician Darrel was not friendly or communicative AT ALL. Didn't order the part originally so when he came by 2 weeks after diagnostic appointment the part had not arrived. I didn't even know the part was being delivered to my house because, again, no communication. We had to reschedule the appointment and I had to take off work AGAIN. Absolutely horrible experience with this company. Had a technician come out through my home warranty company, and although he seemed nice enough, he asked what was wrong with the fridge, and after pulling the panel apart he said the thermostat was bad. He happened to have the part in his truck, so he changed it, and after I had told him another issue with the fridge he just left. 3 days go by and after spending $300 on food after I was told my fridge was fixed, and now I'm going to lose it all again. Then after my home warranty puts in a service recall to get him out to fix it right, they lose my appointment. Now the next available appointment isn't until 4 days from now when they should have been out here ASAP to fix their mistake. Horrible customer service as well. It connects to another foreign country where I can barely understand the person on the other line because their accent is so thick and they don't have the best grasp on the English language. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! BIGGEST RIP-OFF! My 5 year old Kenmore refrigerator stopped cooling the fridge and freezer. Since the compressor has a 10 year warranty I called Sears. I talked to a woman who told me it would be 7 days before Sears expert technicians could come out. She said I had to give her a credit card number to book the appointment. I would be charged 149.99 for the evaluation but that could be applied to the cost of repairs. She said the compressor was covered by the warranty but not labor. I asked for an estimate of the labor, she said the technician would have to tell me that. When the man came he said it was the compressor and it was free but the bill with labor was 640.00. When I asked how much they charged per hour for labor he said he had no control over that labor charge because it is set by Sears. If I refused the service they were going to charge my credit card 174.00. I would have never used them if I had known they were going to rip me off. I had no choice so I paid. The technician left the old part and boxes in my kitchen for me to pickup. I called my local appliance repair shop, they quoted me the same repair... parts (paying for a new compressor) and labor 650.00 I WILL NEVER EVER BY ANOTHER SEARS PRODUCT!!! read more

Use anyone other than Sears services. You will definitely regret it. I have the deluxe sided by side GE profile Refrig 6 years old. The fan went out - called Sears. It took a week to get an appointment. I paid in advance, over $1,000 for a new fan motor and the earliest they would return to install the fan was 2 weeks later between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. The technician never showed up and no one call. I got a text that said the tech was on his way and the a text saying the appointment was being scheduled one week later. It is impossible to reach a human and no possible way to communicate. Horrible experience. I initially felt back for such an iconic company to fall on hard times, but now I understand how poor management destroy a cultural icon. So sad read more
