I've had the Sears home warranty for a few years and I've only had to use it a handful of times for repairs. I mostly use it for my annual air conditioner and heater service. I scheduled my annual AC service and of course they give you a 4-Hour window so I had to take half a day off work and then 2 hours into my window while I'm sitting here at my home waiting for them they sent me a text saying they have to reschedule so I had to take another half day off work. Around the same time all this is happening my refrigerator went out so I requested a technician to come out and fix my refrigerator. When the technician got here he was giving me tips on how to clean the back of my refrigerator and other stuff while looking it over and then says oh, I think I figured it out, it's just the buttons in the door that controls the lights inside. I thought that was strange considering that my refrigerator wasn't cooling properly, why would it be the buttons on the door. But he is the technician not me so he ordered the buttons and had to come back the following week so I had to take another 4 hours off work. Then he returned a week later and it turns out it's not the buttons that's the issue and he thinks it's the motherboard so of course he has to order the part and come back a week later. He shows up again and then of course he tells me it's not the motherboard that is the issue, it's the compressor. So now he has been at my house 3 time and will need to come back next week for a fourth time and I have to take another 4 hours off work. So this is a total of 16 hours that I've had to take off work for the refrigerator repairs because they give you a 4-Hour window. And now I'm going on 3 weeks without a refrigerator. I had coverage for over 9 years. I was told that it covered ALL electrical appliances. I paid extra to cover my well pump. never made a claim. I called because my water heater is not heating properly. of course AN ELECTRIC WATER HEATER must not be an electric appliances. obviously this was not covered. as I was told it was. We have been dealing with major problems with getting repair work completed (this week is the 5th time Sears Home Warranty department has rescheduled our repair and the original order request was in DECEMBER of 2025!) We have made numerous calls in attempt to get a technician to come out. We've used this warranty for the last two years and they've continually proved that they are cheap, will not replace an item, and have technicians who will report we weren't home when we were sitting staring out the window waiting for them. I waited at home from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, lost an entire day of work, and incurred over $800 in lost pay--yet no technician ever arrived. I spent significant time trying to contact customer service without any meaningful resolution. This pattern of poor service is unacceptable and should never happen repeatedly. Additionally, the so-called AI assistant "Samantha" has been extremely frustrating, repeatedly preventing me from speaking with a live agent. We used to get great service and value out of Sears Home Warranty, however since Cinch has taken over it has become a nightmare. We've had an issue with our washing machine and our refrigerator. Same scenario played out. Hard to get initial repair person out, once out they needed to order a new part, parts delay, then come to find out the part is not available in the case of the washing machine, issue a warranty refund credit. As for the fridge, the part did come, but then no service provider wanted to do business with Sears/Cinch, so I had to return the part, request a refund check, and not four months later still no check. First it was "lost" and now there is no response on a replacement. We've canceled out membership, so look out folks this is not a good plan. I've had a Sears Warranty for over 20 years and this is the fourth repair order. This year my Sears HE Clothes washer broke down. After 9 appointments, 4 repairmen. I have 3 ordered parts waiting for the next repairman that keeps failing to show up(x3)!! they have this inept system of AI computers that affirm your appointment but do not have problem-solving capabilities. BE AWARE!! I have been a customer for several years, but my recent experience with Sears Home Services has been extremely disappointing. I opened a service ticket to repair my washer. After waiting nearly two weeks for a technician to arrive with the proper parts, I was informed that the replacement part could not be located and that my washer would need to be replaced. I agreed and trusted their "experts" to recommend a suitable replacement. I currently own an LG stackable washer and dryer. Sears recommended a GE washer and confirmed it would work with my existing setup. However, any professional in the appliance industry should know that stackable washer and dryer units must be compatible and typically require matching brands and proper stacking kits. When the installation technician arrived, he immediately realized the units could not be safely stacked. It would have been dangerous to simply place one unit on top of the other without proper compatibility. After multiple conversations with Sears, I was told they would return the unit and issue a credit instead. At this point, I have been without a washer for over three weeks. Now, while waiting for the credit, I am being told they will reduce the amount by 35% -- penalizing me for a model that their own team recommended and that was never compatible in the first place. I understand if a customer changes their mind due to color or size preferences. But in this case, the issue was basic product compatibility -- something their "experts" should have known from the beginning. This experience has been frustrating, time-consuming, and costly. Purchased my home in September of 2024. new furnace and central air unit were install in September of 2024. Central air unit failed. NO WHERE on the unit had a phone number for the warranty department, just the installer. Installer was no help at all. finally found the number in my mortgage documents. They DENIED me the warranty on the labor for the work because I didn't call them first. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT? I dropped money that I couldn't afford to spend to get it fixed. LIVID does not even begin to cover how I feel about this. Finally got a hold of someone at sears on 6/26. they denied me on 7/3. With heat indexes in the 90s, I was miserable. Techs created more problems when they actually did come- which was always out of the time span they said they would . IE- 1-5 window- showing up at 6:30 pm - without the correct tool. They broke parts and never knew what the other tech before them had done. Parts were listed as being on backorder when they were not . I couldn't talk to anyone except an AI person . They came out and supposedly fixed it, a week later I had to call back. I have been trying to resolve this matter since the first week of October 2025. While 3 out of 4 parts have arrived, one crucial part cannot be found, causing repeated delays in my service appointments. Since October 4th, I have experienced continuous rescheduling: the initial visit on October 6th was followed by additional cancellations and reschedules, leading to a current appointment set for November 4th, 2025 and that one was just cancelled again due to the missing part. Negative 10. We waited until midnight because we needed our washer fixed . The time for the service person to arrived stretched from 8am to 5 and then to midnight. My husband took if work to make sure we were there . After 5 pm I started calling . Sears warranty customer Servicd was of no use !!!!!! They gave me the LG subcontractor number which only had AI automated repairs . The more I tried to find an option that fit my concern the worse it got. I kept asking to speak to a person.. they eventually disconnected me because my concerns were not covered under their automatic responses . Early the next morning I called sears warranty customer service and ask for someone to talk too .. they said they didn't have a live person for the LG subcontractor number which was unbelievable to me . Do we pay sears who are ultimately the overseeing company yet they have nothing in place for customers to get answers or voice a complaint.
