I've been a loyal Best Buy customer for over 25 years and have purchased numerous laptops from them…read more-- including three in just the past two years for myself, my daughter, and my wife. I've always added the 2- or 3-year protection plans because they provided peace of mind, even if I rarely had to use them. During my last purchase at the Morehead City location, a staff member told me he was "upgrading" my protection plan to some sort of total protection package. I clearly stated I didn't care what it was called -- I just wanted two years of protection, like I always get. I even complimented Best Buy on their protection plans at the time. Fast forward 18 months: I experience a minor screen issue after some rubbing alcohol spilled on the top of the laptop, causing screen glare. I brought it in thinking the 2-year plan I paid $179.99 for would cover it -- only to be told my "warranty" had been canceled. Apparently, what I had wasn't a protection plan but a membership -- something I was never told clearly. That membership had expired, and they refused to honor the protection I believed I had paid for. When I questioned it, the staff seemed dismissive and evasive. It felt less like a misunderstanding and more like dishonesty. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth. After spending thousands of dollars with Best Buy, I expected better. The lack of transparency and accountability here borders on fraud, and the customer service at this location was appalling. Unless something changes, I don't see myself shopping at this Best Buy again -- or possibly any Best Buy.

"Oh you can pick that up in Jacksonville if you really need it that bad." -Employee The ONLY reason I shop here is due to TotalCare support if needed, but locking the door early makes sense with Q4 FY24 revenue down by 4.8% compared to the same period for 2023. Go somewhere else folks-this is a sinking ship.

We reported three problems: He fixed one of them by changing the lights. The second - a problem with the ice maker resolved on its own and started making ice mysteriously before the technician arrived on his first visit. We were told on the first visit that he had ordered a part to fix a broken shelf, but on the second visit, were told that this was not an included repair and we would have to order and install it ourselves. Previously, Lowes worked with a local repair company we could speak with to schedule a specific time so would not have to waste a whole day waiting for the technician. And we could have clarified the issue on the shelf. But there was no opportunity to do that with Sears. Just saw that the total cost was $354 to replace the lights. Happy we didn't pay any of this but seems like someone was ripped off. Todd was pleasant and competent, but the program he works for sucks.

After doing a great deal of comparison shopping, we eventually purchased a set of Electrolux…read moreappliances. The price was fine although the lady working appliances was not very knowledgeable about any of the items in her department. Still, that is what the internet is for - don't rely upon store staff for advice. But I wasn't really expecting much either. If you choose to have your items delivered, Sears will call after 6:00PM the night prior to announce their delivery window. Rather irritating actually, since most people in 2010 have jobs and need to arrange to miss work, and the stay-at-home mothers of the world generally are busy with being mothers. There is no reason that in this age Sears can't announce their large 4 hour window that you must sit around waiting for delivery like the cable company. Still, the movers did arrive within this enormous delivery window, so at least Sears is keeping with their portion of the bargain, should you choose to purchase there. However, the chose to arrive with a new white washing machine, with a broken blue dryer. We didn't purchase a broken blue dryer, but were expecting a new white one. All of this isn't the real problem, it just begins here. Calling to complain, the finger point began. "Well, we just deliver them..." "You probably should talk with Sears Delivery Central..." "Electrolux packs the boxes, they did it..." Etcetera. I finally managed to reach the store manager who again try some buck passing when I stopped here - "Look, I bought the dryer from Sears. Not Electrolux, not Delivery Central, but your store located right here. You are the manager - what can you do for me." "I can offer you free delivery." "Not good enough - I already have a rebate for free delivery. You delivered a broken dryer on a date that I managed to make myself available from work. Now, I will have to take another day off of work, but I can't schedule it since I don't know when you will manage to get a white dryer in-stock, and you can't even tell me when it will be delivered until after 6:00 PM the night prior. For this inconvenience, please rebate me 10% of the cost of the dryer." "I can't do that." "Why not?" "I'm not authorized." "Aren't you the store manager?" "Yes." "And you can't authorize this?" "No." "Who can?" "I can contact the regional manager." "There is no one at the store who is authorized to fix things on the spot? Incredible." "Would you like me to do this?" "Yes." -Look, shop here if you like, but realize that either A) the store manager was lying to me and just trying to avoid making a refund, or B) Sears Corp does not empower its managers. Either way, it is rather disturbing. If you have a problem, keep in mind that no one is empowered to correct problems. Eventually, I did receive my refund, but what good is it having a manager if they can't manage?

Took them 3 weeks to deliver the dryer despite close to a dozen phone calls to try to arrange a date that worked for our household. The phone scheduling system is inflexible and the personnel are unable/unwilling to accommodate customer needs. Lowe's can deliver NEXT DAY! The only reason, after all that, they kept my $1000 for the dryer was because the salespeople knocked over $100 off the sales price for my troubles.

I think we were in and out in less than 15 minutes with the purchase and they delivered same day which was amazing and we're at my house in about 30 minutes for delivery by far the most amazing appliance purchase I've had in my life. It's 6 years old and the icemaker stopped producing ice. The Tech's name is Tom. He was on time. He was courteous, professional and went right to work. He took the icemaker apart and found the problem. He said he would try to do a temporary fix, which he did. The icemaker actually worked for a couple of days before shutting down again. He further informed me that he had to order the parts to complete the fix properly. Once the parts came in (2-3 days) he returned to complete the repair. He cleaned up after himself and asked if we had any concerns. He left his business card with us in case we needed to call for any recurring concerns. I would definitely request "Tom" from Bell's for any appliance service.
