For the price on a holiday weekend, this course isn't terrible, but overall it's pretty boring and disappointing. The greens are extremely slow, and the course is not well maintained. You can hit a decent shot and still lose your ball in the rough or fringe because the course is very messy--tall grass, weeds, and white acorns everywhere make it hard to find balls even after good shots. The clubhouse is old and stale, and while the course has a lot of potential, it's currently below average at best. That likely explains why the price is so cheap. I wouldn't recommend this course. You're better off spending a little extra and playing at Pacific Grove, Pasatiempo, or anywhere in Monterey. This one can be skipped altogether. read more

Don't waste your time and money. They are way overpriced at 110 or more dollars on the weekends. This place is a 70‑dollar weekend course at best, and that's not taking into consideration the poor maintenance. I used to love golfing here, but in the past few years they have jumped the shark with the crazy high pricing. Twenty‑five dollars per rider is a crime. This place is a joke, and I hope they get their stuff together so I can consider returning. read more

Have played this course a couple of times before and it's an above average course. However, just called to try and ask about making a tee time for a month in advance because we were hoping to have two foursomes back to back. Seascape only allows tee times to be booked a week in advance. This wasn't the problem though. Richard in the golf shop delivered me such terrible customer service over the phone that I am happy to not be booking the tee times there. He was rude and abrasive to a customer that was just trying to ask a simple question. Rules are rules and I don't mind if they are unable to accommodate my request, but his customer service was so poor that I won't be taking my business there again. read more

Wedding Review: Seascape provides unmatched value for the level of service and attentiveness leading up to and on your wedding day. Taylor Scaletti, the private events director, is amazing and it felt like we were the only wedding she had that month with how responsive she was and how available she made herself whenever we dropped by. She meticulously helped us plan out the day and asked a lot of questions we hadn't even considered, which helped the day go all that much smoother. The event staff does a great job. The service was seamless and several guests commented to us after the event how helpful and professional they were. The bartenders crushed it. Some things could be improved. The bunkers are filled with pebbles and are almost as hard as clay. The roughs are very thick and will make your shots very difficult. The carts go very slowly even at the smallest incline. They go uphill so slowly, I could walk faster than them. There also weren't any marshals to urge the slower golfers to play faster in front of my group. Despite this, I still had a fun, scenic round of golf. read more

You HAVE to get married here! My husband and I had an incredible experience at this venue and working with Taylor. It was simply the best day of our lives and I wish I could do it all over again! The venue itself is beautiful and conveniently set up between the actual ceremony site, cocktail hour, and reception room. Our wedding day was flawless and perfect in every way, and it's definitely a testament to the venue and to Taylor! Seascape Golf Club provides several options to meet your needs and also make your wedding unique to you. I loved how they provided the option to work with specific vendors (cake vendor and florist). We got to customize everything and we absolutely LOVED our flowers and cake. While planning, Taylor was with us every step of the way. My husband and I had a long engagement and chose this venue right at the beginning, and Taylor was ALWAYS responsive and answered our questions, even with our wedding being more than a year away! She is the perfect wedding coordinator and we cannot recommend working with her enough. During the wedding weekend, my husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing! She was extremely organized and attentive during the ceremony rehearsal and day of the wedding. She stepped in whenever anything was needed, and was always a step ahead of us. Seascape Golf Course and Banquet room: The course is 100% open, with tee times very scarce. We've been taking my grandson at twilight and playing a quick nine holes. Everything is looking beautiful and green. The Banquet room has been completely remodeled but is currently not able to open due to Covid-19. It looks great! We grab a hot dog or sandwich at the snack shop and head out to play. The Driving Range is being rebuilt, it appears much wider, and deeper. We were told that there will be new mats and plenty of space for COVID-19 distancing rules very soon. read more

I had my wedding at this venue on July 30th, 2022 and it was a dream come true! The staff and the wedding coordinator, Taylor, are so great. They made the planning easy and set us up with their vendors. It is by far the best decision I made regarding my wedding. Every guest we spoke to said the wedding was epic. The food was really good and we even had a s'mores bar, which was a big hit with the kids. It was the most reasonably priced in the area for such an amazing value. This place was a wonderful one- stop shop for our wedding and we could not have been more pleased. Taylor, the coordinator, is so chill and on everything, it really calmed us down and made everything run smoothly. We went with the Seascape package that included the flowers and cake, which was a wonderful decision. It was a gorgeous outdoor place for the ceremony and we loved the space in the ballroom for the reception. All the staff was fantastic, efficient and polite. To Seascape management and all who are thinking of playing this course. My son and I went to Seascape Golf Club today with the intent to hit balls and play 9 holes. After warming up on the range - my son went into the Club House (around 630 pm) to ask if he could get on as a single. The man in the club house said " Nah - its going to be at least 30-40 mins - we are really busy today" My son pointed out - "there's a twosome that just teed off, there's another twosome on the tee and a single waiting" - "can't I get out with one of them"? The club house man ( I don't know his name) said "Nah - I have several groups ready to go out". What does several groups (not ready yet) -have to do with getting out with twosomes already on the tee box - I have no idea. We proceeded to practice putting and wait the 30-40 mins. The "several groups" - which turned out to be two groups only - went out. We were on the putting green for at least 30 mins and not one player teed off after those groups. Frankly - I don't know what Seascapes definition of busy is? But to me - it was no where near busy. in fact we watched groups finishing 18 - and out of several groups that finished not one group consisted of 4 players - or a full group. Maybe Seascape management runs it like this on purpose - I don't know. That being said - I have been in the golf industry (in various capacities) for over 30 years - I'm shocked that Seascape would not make a more concerted effort to get a paying junior (single) out in a timely fashion - especially at 6:30 pm is beyond my comprehension - Maybe they don't want juniors (or perhaps this particular junior) playing here??? FYI Seascape - this particular junior is a competitive scratch HS golfer that competes all over California (including locally) and I can assure you he has never had a golf course say - at 6:30 pm "we are too busy to get you out" - and say it in a disrespectful condescending way. Trust me - he didn't like the treatment and has already put (this experience) on social media - telling coaches and fellow players of his first time at Seascape. It goes without saying - this junior will never be back to Seascape Golf Course - unfortunately I don't think Seascape really cares - and that's too bad. read more

I love Seascape! The venue was absolutely stunning and perfect for my wedding this past July! My husband and I chose to use the 10th Tee Ceremony Site, Practice Green for the cocktail hour, and the Monarch Room for our reception. All three spaces were just breathtaking and made for the perfect day. Everything was clean, organized and ready to go the day of, and the prep beforehand was also a breeze. It was also a very nice touch that both the bridal and groom parties were able to have a space on site to get ready the day of! Taylor is AMAZING! I worked with her from beginning to end, and she made my experience such an easy and fun experience. She is super fast with her responses, and very detailed as well. Plus she's just a super sweet person overall. She made the wedding planning seamless, which helped to confirm I could never turn into a Bridezilla!! Due to Covid, we weren't able to do a taste test for the food, but Taylor said the food was amazing, I trusted her, and it turns out the food was REALLY amazing. We chose steak, salmon, and pasta primavera and the guests were in love! The service here was also phenomenal. We asked for a few extra things here and there and they were able to accommodate. Amazing amazing staff!! I would recommend this venue to any bride and groom looking to get married in the Santa Cruz/Aptos area. Thank you Taylor and thank you Seascape!! read more

The course is in pretty decent shape, but for the bunkers. They could use a fresh splash of sand. The greens are in very good condition - actually faster and truer than I'm used to here. Best of all, the staff is on top of COVID-19! Check-in is outdoor and safe. The snack shack is fully open for "drive-by" refreshment, as well as the roaming beverage cart! We were married as Seascape Golf Club in August 2021, a rather challenging time to be an engaged couple. Seascape made it really easy to plan and prepare for the big day while keeping safety measures and guidelines in mind. We had a wonderful wedding day and got so many compliments from people about how easy it was to find, park and attend with the ceremony being right next door the the reception (this help with our older relatives). We are so grateful for the dedicated staff that attended to our needs and the amazing all inclusive benefits the venue offered. Not having to find a bakery and florist among other things checked off a huge box on our list. We loved the flow of the event for guests and got great feedback about how beautiful everything was including the updates stairs and the greenery around the ceremony space. We had toured about 6 venues in the area and none provided service staff, Quality meal selections, vendors, setup and break down at the affordable price like Seascape. It was a no brainer! With that being said there were a few hiccups but there almost always are. We had a few golfers teeing off right below our ceremony which was a tad distracting for us and guests. We all got a good laugh though, comes with getting married at a golf course haha! Overall, there was no way we could not have the best wedding with the amazing team at Seascape, thank you for answering emails at all hours and for helping us get to our special day with no issues, we will cherish our wedding day forever! Course was beautiful! They fit us in with another twosome. Last minute decision, we were working in the area and decided to go check this course out. The staff was so friendly and very welcoming and really worked to fit us in on a busy day. Normally we would have booked a tee time but like I said it was a last minute decision. We live about an hour and a half away and would definitely make the trip back just to golf for the day there. read more

Just visited the "new" restaurant at Seascape golf club. We live in the area and have been coming here for 20 years. The new owners added a new menu.... BIG MISTAKE. The club sandwich was completely dry no lettuce, tomato nada~. The potato chips had no flavor, bread was hard. The hamburger my son ordered was boring and they didn't bring the fries he ordered, so my order got cold as we waited! Fortunately we knew the waitress and she comped my meal. I knew the golf club had new owners and chef but what's wrong with leaving a good thing alone, sometimes there's no reason to change a solid menu. Disappointing. Was one of our favorite spots, not anymore. read more

What better way to kick off a wedding weekend by downing on some screwdrivers and bloody mary's at 9AM on a Friday and then driving golf carts around. The weather was a perfect low 70's with ocean breeze in your face. The course itself was beautiful and it did cost quite a bit to play but you can't put a price on a friends request for his last game as a single man. We also received a lot of pointers from a gentleman who worked there about how we should attack certain holes and where the wind was blowing. They were very accommodating and over all good folks. I would come out here again but play the twilight. read more

This course was a real treat. Had a "twilight" tee time at 2pm. We showed up at 1 to hit a few at the range, and the pro shop let us out on the course 30 minutes early. I must say, this course took me by surprise. I was not expecting such a challenging round of golf, or such a beautiful course based upon the rates. The rates are a great deal, this course in great. There are many narrow fairways either lined with tall eucalyptus or houses. Also there is a lot of elevation that comes into play on almost every hole, that proved challenging on the back nine the most. The course was in great shape. Very green all over, the tee boxes were in good shape and the greens were well manicured. The bunkers were plentiful and not very large, but they were deep. Some notable mentions: -Hole 6, par 3, 207 yards, all you got to make the green, don't leave it short. -Hole 9, par 5, back towards the clubhouse. open and wide. fun approach shot to a lofted green flanked by bunkers. -Hole 10, par 5, the most memorable hole for me, huge tee shot from a plateau down through the skinny ravine to the fairway. I crushed a 300 yard drive down the center that made me feel like T. Woods. Round was finished under 4 hours just before the clouds dropped in and the rain started. I definitely plan on coming here again. read more

Played this course late last month. Found the course to be in very good condition. Despite the drought conditions did not see much in the way of bare patches on the fairways and certainly none on the greens. The Pro Shop staff were very friendly and accomodating (they got me out early). I did not find any of the issues brought up in previous reviews. Once on the first tee, you are greeted by a starter who kept the pace going. Did not see any marshalls (there was no need for one as pace went very smoothly on each hole). Finished the round in just over four hours. With regards to overstacking the amount of play - did not see it on the day that I played. However, I could see issues occuring on the weekends. Several reasons for this. 1) Yes, many of holes are concaved but unless you get the right bounce and roll you do end up with a very uneven lie. But that's the challenge - isn't it? 2) Many of the holes are viually intimidating. It takes a while to make a decision on the tee-box. 3) The par 3's are the highlight of the course. Very tough! All-in-all I enjoyed my round at this course. As as single I was paired up with a couple and a single and they were perfect ladies and gentlemen, which made for a good experience. If I was back in the area again, I would play this course again but I would not make it my go to. Other than the Par 3's I can't really recall any highlights and that's what I look for when choosing to return or not. read more

Wow, what a terrible round of golf today. We were a threesome that was playing behind three groups of women that were VERY slow. It took us 2:45 to get through the front nine! The Marshall drove past us three times and never said a word to the slow groups in front of us. The third time the Marshall passed by, I stopped him and asked what was going on. He said that the three groups of women in front of us were members and he will not ask them to pick up the pace. Are you kidding me??? This slow play killed the pace of our game and made for a terrible experience. read more

The Restaurant - very causal with a good view of the course. Pick up a lunch menu, seat yourself, walk up and place order. With low expectations I ordered The green salad with chicken... he ordered the taco salad. Darling waitress service served us. Best green salad I've ever had with warm marinated chicken strips-very impressive. Classic, "I should've had a V-8" moment... I felt when I saw his taco salad I realized my salad was great... his was fabulous. He likes the course and is on the tees at oh dark 30. read more

New owners have improved the food quality and the banquet services but much work is still to be done with the wait staff in the dining room. Two weeks in a row we were there for breakfast. The food was consistently good. The service unfortunately was consistently slow and inadequate--and without apology. We waited 20 minutes for water and for someone to take our order after being seated with menus. Then the server never returned for water refills throughout the meal. Last week I waited more than 20 mins for a drink. Get more help or supervise the people you have. Even good food won't entice us to return now. read more

Played here with my company for a tournament last month and came back again with sister and brother in-law to play again this past weekend. In our company tournament, a 5-hour round was expected with 25+ handicappers mixed in every foursome. This past weekend with a party of 3 good players we barely finished 12 holes in 5.5 hours. Let's begin with the pro shop guy Larry twice implying that my sister was stealing something from the shop by asking "And, what's that in your hand?!" as we were paying for the tee time, referring to her generic Nike drawstring sack that resembles absolutely nothing for sale in the shop. Coupled with asking, "Do you need a cart?" after she just paid for the tee time and cart fee, Larry was a real gem and surely made us feel welcome. Let's follow that up with us reporting to the starter as the "G*******" group at 7:15, and him matter-of-factly telling us "No, you're not," and then telling us that the course was 30 minutes backed up and we had to wait for 40 minutes AFTER our scheduled time (9:15) to actually start. No apology or explanation. Let's continue on this dream round where we'll find ourselves waiting to hit on the tee on the 2nd hole - 75 minutes after our scheduled start time. I'd say we were lucky to complete the front 9 in 3 1/2 hours, and had no second thoughts about quitting after 12 holes and a total of 5+ hours spend "golfing" at this hellhole. Average of 25 minutes per hole. This must be due to the fact that there was 0 spacing between groups. We found out later that the old guys like Larry in the shop and the starter had not shown up for work on time, and that was the reason everyone was delayed 30 minutes. Compounded with the fact that there was absolutely no spacing between groups, if we would have stayed the whole time it would have been a 12 hour trip in total. 1 hour to drive from San Jose, 5.5 hours to play 12 holes, and 1 hour to drive back = 7.5 hours of wasted life and time on this place. If we played all 18 it would have taken 7 hours to finish. No joke. Sad to see a course with a fun layout and decent conditions get ruined by TERRIBLE service and management from the crew of old guys who clearly have been wasting away here for years at the expense of paying customers. Fun to see the marshall/"ambassador" not doing any type of marshalling at all; rather, he seemed to enjoy rolling up on our group and staring at our shots, which was quite distracting and uncomfortable. I would ONLY consider coming back here if they offered a free round to compensate for this terrible, terrible, terrible experience. I doubt they check this site so I will be calling them this week to negotiate some type of remedy. ***Update - 9/11/13 I have logged multiple complaints on the website, Facebook page, and have left a voicemail for their staff. I got an email back today with one of their guys breaking down the rates for yearly membership. Clearly they did not even read the comment box I submitted on the site. read more

I've played here on several occasions over the years. I have a friend that lives not far from the course and enjoys playing here when we get together. This course has some coupon deals in the SJ Mercury News from time to time (around $50 with cart). I'm not sure I would pay the standard rate to play here, as there are many other courses I'd rather play. The condition of the course is good, but I have found the greens to be inconsistent. Overall, the course is fun with some exceptional holes. Many golf shots will end up on uneven lies and test your game. The clubhouse is a bit dated, but still a good place to grab lunch or a drink after a round of golf. read more

Our golf club played here this past Saturday. We had 5 groups of 4. I was in the first group that teed off at noon. We walked off the 18th green at 6:05. We had significant waits on every hole. The group in front of us apologized for them being slow (they were waiting on groups in front of them) and said they would be leaving after 9 holes and that maybe things would be better on the back 9. That wasn't the case. We caught up with the group in front of them and the waits started almoner again. Looks like they book tee times too close to each other. Saw a number of marshals (ambassadors) on the course but I did not see them do anything nor did they acknowledge anything to us. Suggestion are to 1) space tee times out more and 2) have marshalls active on the course moving the groups on so that rounds can be completed in 4.5 to 5 hours. If our club books here in the future, I will not play. The lady in the inside restaurant was also not very friendly. No greeting when we ordered. Seemed to have her mind on something else. Certainly not on her job. read more
