We were facing the water as well as any crazies across the water who wanted to start yelling early in the morning for no apparent reason. The hotel was fine and we would stay here again in the area.

The front desk staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. They still provide individual shampoo and toiletry bottles instead of refillable dispensers. We enjoyed the afternoon cookies and the complimentary Ivar's salmon chowder at 5 p.m. Breakfast was standard, though I did like the little packages of diced peaches. No non-dairy options for cereal. The biggest downside was the light in our room. The balcony door blinds let in so much light that it felt like daylight all night. There was no way to turn it off or block it, so we ended up hanging the provided bathrobes over the door and using a chair cushion to cover more of the light. It helped a little, but not much. One of the bathrobes was still soaking wet, whether from being unwashed or not fully dried. I appreciated having robes for the pool and hot tub, but a wet robe was pretty gross. The pool and hot tub are open to adults 24 hours a day, which is a nice perk, although both are quite small. We didn't use them, so I can't comment further. Overall, we'd stay here again because the value was hard to beat--just don't forget your eye masks.

Lucky enough I found Stephanie's and they had a few seats available. What I didn't know that it was a multi-course meal already pre-selected. But regardless it was a nice surprise and the food was amazing. The location is great, the staff were extremely attentive and I got to chat with the head chef for a bit. Come to find out that Jeff started at the Metropolitan Steak House in Seattle. Him and I knew a lot of the same people from me going to the Met many many times over the years. Overall an outstanding experience. A must try in my books!!

This meal came after a surprise engagement for my girlfriend so I had high hopes and they delivered. We were greeted with a lovely glass of champagne and also received some specialty bon bons to end the meal. Starting with the venue itself, the restaurant is situated on the second floor of the restaurant in a quaint dining room. I was honestly a little surprised as I had assumed the restaurant was bigger but none the less it was a nice space. There's a kitchen near the entrance which is cool to see. The service itself was fantastic. They were welcoming and kind and fast to address any question or request. I also noticed they did a great job pacing as there would be times where other tables finished courses before we did but they still waited on our conversation to then clear and serve us the following dish. Now to the food. It was so delicious. I'll be honest that when I saw the menu in comparison to the prior night I got a little worried as the first two dishes I saw, crab and a mushroom soup were not something I would typically order at a restaurant. That being said...they were both incredible. The flavors and care that went into each dish was incredible. Great restaurants make items you may not typically like taste fantastic and this is a testament to the chef. We were loving all parts of the meal and it was an amazing dinner and evening to share. The bread and butter by itself were so amazing. It was such a lovely evening and thank you for making it so special for us. Would definitely come back if you're celebrating a big milestone!

Great ones, however, elevate the experience to something else entirely. The team at Niblack defines what great catering looks like. It's hard to imagine a group more talented anywhere on the Oregon Coast, or frankly in Portland or the state all together. From the beginning, it was clear they were committed to helping crate an experience. They immediately grasped my vision, offered valuable input, and executed to a standard that far exceeded expectations. Their skill and thoughtfulness showed up everywhere. Carefully curated local food that was delicious and memorable (for all the right reasons!). Prepared, timed, served, and presented to perfection. Bar service: distinctive but not distractingly eccentric (no bottlenecks too). Decor and vibe: super elegant yet super accessible. When guests entered, they were awed and felt like they were going to be part of something special from the moment they stepped into the venue. It was uncanny how they seemed to anticipate everything and then deftly emerge to serve and address the inevitable eebb and flow of the event with aplomb. Communication and responsiveness were on point throughout. If all that wasn't enough, they stepped up when something beyond their control went wrong -- finding a solution to a problem they didn't create. They exemplified true service with a determination to do whatever it takes to make the event great for their client.
