We got chewy bread dough instead. Minus 1 star. They make a big deal about their marinara sauce, which was very good., heavy in the rosemary but not in oregano. Plus 1/2 point. Pizza a'fetta is very proud of their homemade Caesar dressing, but what I received in the small container inside the salad box said that as long as there's a funnel and a working water spigot, they'll never run out of Caesar salad dressing. In other words, the dressing inside my box of Caesar salad was water-thin and, frankly, tasteless. Minus 1 point. Since I can't give a 1/2 star rating, and as the effort was less than superlative, I'm rounding down: the only thing remarkable about their pizza was the marinara sauce. read more

Stopped in for pizza by the slice and they had listed 4 options outside but after waiting 20 minutes in line they only had cheese as a slice option (should have realized everyone walled away with cheese in front of me). It would have been better to have let us in line know ahead of time since there was a worker standing at the entrance or at least place a "no longer available" notice over the other 3 pizza options. The cheese pizza was not good. It looked like it had been made hours ago. The cheese looked odd and the sauce wasn't good either (fire roasted...?). Don't Rob yourself it's absolutely worth the brief wait to enjoy the best pizza in town. They always have the cheese which is surprisingly rich in flavor, the pepperoni, a vegetarian -- which never disappoints -- and a meat lovers or a combo. Today the meat lovers had banana pepperoncini which I love so went with a slice of that. BUT THE PEPPERONI HAD JUST COME OUT OF THE OVEN AND WAS SIZZLING HOT. So in honor of my two sons weren't here to have slices, I ordered two pepperoni to take home with me. They serve beer on tap, including Stella, as well as sodas. Their service is awesome, if brief. Just look for the sign or the line in the alley. Yes you can definitely dine in; but don't forget to pick up a slice on your way out of town. We are always glad we did. I don't know who the pizza bakers are but this place is an institution that's been here for decades I've been coming to Cannon Beach and it remains one of the reasons we come down time and again. I visited on July 1st around 7:00 PM. This is not my first time here, and I've enjoyed coming here in the past, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I'm visiting from Las Vegas and was really disappointed with the system here. We came in hoping to get pizza by the slice and were told they were out and that the wait could be anywhere from 50 minutes to 1-2 hours. Meanwhile, other customers were being quoted different wait times, and we weren't told that ordering a whole pizza was still an option. The employee seemed overwhelmed and unhappy, which made the experience even more frustrating. I understand businesses get busy, especially in a tourist town, but better organization and clear, consistent communication with customers would have made a big difference. read more

We were stoked to find this place open on a freezing cold, pouring rain Monday last week. The slices and beers at 11am really hit the spot and we found out later that this pizza has formerly been voted top 100 in the US! Home made crust, home made ranch... say less. We stood outside waiting to be seated and the man didn't even acknowledge us as he tended to a table right in front of the door- he continued to serve that table and then told us he would seat us soon before taking that tables orders. He walked away and continued taking orders of other tables. We waited for 10 minutes and he didn't seat us when there were clearly open tables right in front of us. Had to stop here as it was mentioned as a must try on several videos we had watched before coming to Cannon Beach. There is a dine in or take window for pizza slices. We decided go to the window as we just wanted the slices & just sat on the chairs outside. Got 2 meat combo slices & a veggie combo slice. The meat one was delicious, crust not too thick & lots of meat, not greasy at all. The veggie one fell apart a bit, but it was still really good. Really good & hit the spot for our first meal here. The employees that work here give extremely fast service and are very respectful and helpful. They assisted me in finding what pizza to order and got the order out very quick. The red sauce is so oregano heavy and presents as very earthy, which makes it too "musky" for me and also detracts from other flavors like their smoked mozzarella and meats. Tried this place out over this past weekend when my husband and I were in Cannon Beach and was not disappointed. To be honest, I'm not even a big pizza person but when we were going on a walk in the early morning and they were making their dough, the smell coming out the back door of the kitchen was incredible so we felt like we had to try it. Did not disappoint! Also love that they offer a par bake option so you can finish it off in the comfort of your home, or rental home in our case. We did a half-and-half, pepperoni/hawaiian. Both were fantastic! The dough was perfectly soft and crisp simultaneously, the fontina cheese on the Hawaiian was so good. My dad has been this restaurant's number one fan forever. I think I have been coming here for decades now. Last night after a failed attempt at getting my own toddler to try some new foods at a different restaurant, we sprinted over to Pizza a'fetta in hopes of grabbing a slice of pizza before they closed. We timidly interrupted the staff while they attempted to clean. To my surprise, we were met with a friendly response and wonderful service that is so Pizza a'fetta. Within minutes we were walking away with a hot slice of pepperoni that somehow had flavorful sauce, crispy crust and melty cheese, despite being at the very end of the day. I have worked in food service and know how it can feel getting last minute customers, and yet the young staff member sent us out with a smile and wishes to "stay warm out there." Combined with the holiday lights and decorations downtown, it truly put us in the holiday spirit.
