Then 2 weeks ago I get a statement that I owe $700.00 with a previous balance that is over 60 days past due. Now all I had in December was cleaning and they did x-rays. i also have 2 insurances. I have called and left messages requesting a breakdown of where this balance is coming from so I can compare it to the EOBs from my insurances. I cannot even get that from them. they are suggesting more work. I would be an idiot it I have them do anything after this.

I have been terrified of the dentist for some time. Kind of like the car dealership, you have a go-between who talks billing and insurance with you away from the nurse and dentist. It's discrete and comfortable without pressure. My nurse (dental hygienist) was Susan? Or Sandy? God she was an angel. She was so kind to me breaking down and upset and in pain. She made me feel so comfortable talking about stuff and offering anything I might need. My dentist was Dr Taylor who was incredibly knowledgeable and proficient. I got out what needed to come out and I even scheduled an appointment for regular maintenance later this month. I was made comfortable to be there, whether I needed nitrous or a valium, either are available. And they make sure you are physically comfortable with numbing. Mentally comfortable is hard, but true kindness shines through in the folks who work there. I got a kids "reward" (shark plushie) to hold while I had my procedure. When I left I got a "goodie bag" with full instructions on what I had done, extra gauze, and an emergency card. It's a little hinky getting in with the road construction on witchduck road. But soon as your turn on Grayson, by the church, it's there. There's an employee entrance on the witchduck side and another saying Ste 200 on the side, even though the dentist is Ste 100, this is the door you go in.

From the moment I walked in, the entire staff was so kind, patient, and understanding. They really know how to work with patients who are super anxious (hi, it's me ‍). I was honestly ready to back out of the appointment, but I'm so glad I didn't. They made me feel safe, calm, and heard every step of the way. Dr. Kent did such a great job that I actually scheduled my next appointment before I even left -- that's saying a lot for someone with severe dental anxiety! The office is clean, welcoming, and they work with most insurance companies, which made things even easier. If you're nervous about going, this is the place you want to be. Went today for cleaning and the hygienist chipped the bonding again and it's being blamed on me "clenching" my teeth. I've never been a clenched or grinder. They won't get me in to repair for weeks and they acted like they did nothing wrong. Why is it only breaking when your office cleans my teeth? So the search for a new dentist begins again. Before I realized the chip had happened everyone had been nice and polite, but pointing out the chip happened in office made everyone blame me.

The first few visits we had the same dentist and liked her, but she left, and we learned (from staff) they have high turnover. We had routine appointments scheduled months 4-months ago; the practice needed to reschedule us due to vacations the soonest they could get us in was next week - I have a family emergency and need to be out of town next week and called to reschedule. I used to love coming to the dentist (we all have our quirks, people!), until I had a bad experience at our prior dentist. I decided to give Smile By Design a go, and I love it (although I can't say I LOVE getting dental work done- I'm now a normal person that dreads the dentist). I've had filling removal & re-fills done, and I expressed my fear & anxiety to Dr. Santos, and she was so calm and patient with me during the entire procedure. That first experience I had with her made me feel totally comfortable and I trust her completely with my teeth. I think they do offer a lot of options, and some people are put off by that, but I'm gonna tell you- I bought that expensive Bluetooth toothbrush they offered me, and while the Bluetooth part is whatever (IMHO), my teeth have never felt better and my hygienist notices a difference in my teeth (which I totally believe!). My teeth feel like I just got a cleaning every single time I brush with it (which is nightly). Dr. Santos also suggested I get a soft night guard, and while my insurance doesn't cover that, I saved my pennies and got fitted for it. In summary, I do feel as though this dentistry has my teeth in their best interest, and I would recommend anyone going here! If you've had bad experiences at the dentist, be honest with them about it and I think they'll baby you like they baby me. We need it!

I went to a new dentist for the first time today, and I have to admit--it was a really great…read moreexperience from start to finish. The front desk staff was welcoming right away and even thanked me for completing my forms ahead of time, which was a nice touch. The dental assistant who took my X-rays (I'm assuming that's what it's called) came out to get me and was super kind and easy to talk to. She explained everything as we went and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. After the imaging, Dr. Hernandez came in and went over everything they found. I honestly don't remember ever having a dentist be that thorough. He took his time, explained things clearly, and made sure I understood what was going on and had all my questions answered. This was just the first visit--they'll do the cleaning and anything else at a follow-up--but overall, everyone there was wonderful. It's hard for me to even say this, but I'm actually looking forward to going back. I told my youngest son and his wife (who are local and looking for a dentist), and they are eager to be seen by Dr. Hernandez and his staff!
