There is a large grassy area for recreation, a nice pathway to walk around the premises, and the coolest freaking playground EVER! They have this little thing that you sit in. It looks like a cheap uncomfortable chair. If you rock your head back and forth, it will start to spin (yay physics). This thing is awesome. It spins crazy fast, and doesn't require any pushing. They also have a stand up thing that uses the same concept (yay physics). If you get sick from any fair ride, you will not be able to handle this Godsend of play equipment. If you don't get sick easily, go have some spinning fun!!!

It is located in the Wellness section of the park that has fitness stations and this labyrinth was paved and a bit small. Still a nice area to take a break if you are in town, especially with young children or pets who need to stretch their legs.

Honestly never heard of this place until we were looking for something to do. It's just a couple miles from the main strip of 111. But tucked behind some of the beautiful gated communities, you end up here. We didn't know what to expect or how it would be. Thought it would be some park of sorts. Well... It is tucked with the mountains in the background which makes for a beautiful view. Hiking is not far from it and there's loads of beautiful homes in gated communities. We didn't know that camping was also offered here. It's a little drive up to the main gate which there's a fee for entering. The person working the station was gracious enough to let us in as we just wanted to check it out. First off, it's a man made lake. You enter the park area with parking both to the left and right side. There's plenty of spots in both of the parking lot. We went to the right which from the looks of the park, it is well maintained. There's a small little playground on one end, a pool area in the middle and a pickleball court and a basketball court to the other end. That's would be the main park area. If you continue to drive down toward the front, there's campsites. Areas with a grill, a spot for your car as well as water and electricity. Depending on what you need, the fee will be added. You could just camp as if without the electricity. Also the sites are pretty much next to each other. We drove to the other side where there's more campsite which this one is more primitive style. Bring everything yourself. The other side was more of a dirt lot. Not sure what it would be utilize for. Lake area does look man made and well maintained. Looking down it looked as it was like an amphitheater with the steeps leading down. We did find out that you can fish but no swimming or boating allowed. There's a fee if you wanted to fish. Basically a fee for everything. Overall, it's a decent park tucked away. Camping available but not the roughing kind. Small park area but does have a pool. It was pretty quiet when we arrived as it was hot. Would we pay to come in after we've seen this place, probably not. But at least we know what to expect incase we do happen to be back again.

The lake was very low and the water was not accessible except in a few areas. No dogs allowed in the water. It's definitely not a beautiful place but might be fun for groups and kids. The bathroom was really disgusting and It had not been cleaned in quite some time. Very disappointing. We hoped to possibly see some bighorn sheep but they have put up a fence so they can't get to the lake now.

This beautiful park like setting is surrounded by the Wellness center, the library and City hall. I like to walk my dog early in the morning and check out the ducks along the pond and the koi from the bridge. There are giant sized chess pieces for a game, a permanent cement ping pong table, corn holes and bean bags, and a putting green. Concrete Flintstones-style chairs and a table, palm trees, picnic spots, even a water station... like WHAT?? The perfect place to pause, recharge, and just take it all in whether you're solo or with a crew. Such a neat find. Will absolutely be back!

The views are absolutely stunning and the trails are very well maintained. Dogs are welcome up to a certain point; due to protection for Bighorn Sheep, they are prohibited on the longer trails into the mountains. This is a wonderful spot because you can hike as far as you like (one trail is 8 miles round trip), or as little as you like. The picnic area is shaded and clean. The scenery is spectacular and post-card worthy. Don't forget sunscreen, water, and a hat. Admission and parking are free. Highly recommended!

About 20 minutes away from Desert Hot Springs. My mother in law and I were awake way before the…read morerest of the family and both of us like exploring and nature so I asked her if she wanted to go hiking with me at 6:30 am. Both of us got ready in 10 minutes and were out the door. The gate is closed and there is even a sign that says "parking lot closed" but we saw other people parking on the street and walking over so we did the same. The RV/campsite you can see from a distance is for the staff that works there, don't be alarmed by it! If you head on the trails toward the RV its very short but brings you into the giant palms and a wooden staircase that goes down to water and palms growing out of it. You can finish this very quickly. When you head out and head to the right there are branching paths here that lead to more hikes in palms, along the river oasis, and more into the mountains. The visitor center looked excellent and had a home made log cabin vibe, we could see some interesting artifacts inside but because the entrance was chained we didn't want to go in without permission even though it would have been easy to just duck under the chains.
