It's a family owned business, they did a great job. I'm going to get my water heater maintenance by them as well and the AC unit and sump pump in the spring. My furnace was not working and it turned out It just needed to be moved and some little metal piece taken out of it than fell in the way and it started working again. so he ended up giving me a tuneup for free and just charging me for the service/show up charge of about $130 only even with the tune up included since there wasn't really much to fix, but mainly just clean and adjust. read more

But I want to highlight Season's service before the physical unit was replaced. Sunday night at 5:30pm my hot water tank blew and stopped working. A call into Seasons generated a callback in less than 10 minutes. Shortly afterwards a representative from Seasons was at my door. He recommended to replace the unit as the repairs would have been 1/3 the cost of a new unit which was over 20 yrs old. Until Seasons/Lake Villa, the thought had not even occurred to me to write a review. However, from the owner (who personally called to return my message requesting service) to the tech (sent to do a furnace tuneup and look at my water heater that was showing some signs of decreased performance), I could not have been more pleased. Roy, the tech, went out of his way to see that the water heater was taken care of (required a draining and power flush). He also serviced my AC last summer and was most thorough with that as well. I appreciated the fact that he didn't try to push me into the purchase of a new unit as he noted mine is surprisingly clean for its vintage. Bottom line...Go with Seasons. So my furnace was not working at all suddenly and after trying some common things to fix it I gave up and called Seasons to check it out. Nice guy shows up, very polite and on time; does his diagnosis and tells me the control panel burned out. Adds that it's "really expensive" because Lennox parts are exclusive and he hopes he can hunt one down for me. Next day his office calls and says $850 for the part with install. Initially I said fine but couldn't believe it was that pricey. I looked online, found one for $116, cancelled service with Seasons, had the part overnighted to my house and installed myself after watching a YouTube video. Took me 25 minutes...Works perfect. Now, I don't knock a business for looking to make a profit, they absolutely should....but almost 8 times the cost of the part?!?? It's not like it was labor intensive to replace either. Every year my AC needs more coolant, I try to put if off until summer really starts. Yesterday I decided I should make the yearly call and called the company that always comes out. The woman said she'd call right back with a time...4 hours later I called her back and she said the could come out the next day between 1-4. Told her I need a shorter window because of work. She said OK, I'll call when he's an hour out (to give me time to drive home) waited ALL day for a call that never came. So I YELPED and found SEASONS at 4:45, they said technician would be there between 6-7....got a call at 5:20 that they were there (luckily I was around the corner). Michael told me what I needed done and my problem was fixed in 15mins. Michael is very knowledgeable and customer service oriented, will definitely use SEASONS from now on. I'm skeptical about the good reviews here. I don't usually write reviews, but I want other folks to beware and always get a 2nd opinion at a minimum. I called Seasons for a cleaning and inspection. The tech came out and told me carbon monoxide reading was through the roof and I had a cracked heat exchanger. He said no use cleaning it, He said I needed a new furnace for $2,000 to $3,000. He also said he changed the humidifer filter for me. I paid him for the filter and inspection and said I'd get back to him about the new furnace. I called JNJ Heating in South Elgin for a second opinion. They discovered that the filter (that I paid for) was not changed by Seasons tech. JNJ did not find a cracked heat exchanger either. No "through the roof" carbon monoxide readings. I called Seasons tech to ask where he saw the crack and he said he "assumed" I had a cracked heat exchanger, but that he didn't actually look. And he said he must have forgotten to change the filter. JNJ cleaned everything and made some honest repairs. They showed me the issues and explained everything. JNJ saved me a ton of money. I will never use Seasons again. I joined JNJ's maintenance plan. I don't mind paying for an honest job. One good thing is that when I called Seasons, all I had to say was "I'd like to get a refund for today's work." They said ok without asking for any details. read more

These are the greatest people. First of all, they keep your schedule and call you when it's time to have something done. "Hello, Mrs.JoJo. This is Seasons. It's time for your annual AC cleaning. We have openings Wednesday at 2:00 or Saturday at 8:00. Do either of those times work for you? Would you like us to do the dryer vent cleaning at the same time?" How can you not love that? Nothing to remember. And they're good! Wouldn't be useful if they sucked. But they don't. They do a great job. Their people are nice. I cannot say enough positive things about them. And then, just as I'm finishing writing this, they called to tell me they overcharged me and would I like them to come by with a check or would I like it as a credit. They could have kept the $200. Called Seasons because I came home to a very humid and hot house. After speaking with Jerry on the phone he was able to set up appointment and told me within the hour. I received a call 5 mins later and was told that technician was on the way and would be there within 30 mins. Jim the technician was able to diagnose the problem quickly and repair it. I was contacted by an employee to offer me a reduced cost cleaning and check of my furnace. I scheduled an appointment the next day and the Service Manager Michael showed up on time. He cleaned up the furnace (it had been a while) and prepared to check it. Unfortunately, my fancy thermostat had a built in delay after power was turned off so we couldn't test it. After the thermostat was active again, the furnace was not working correctly. I contacted the office and they had Michael call me from the next job he was on. We tried a couple of problem isolating techniques but we couldn't fix it. The company rearranged their technician's schedule so that Michael could quickly return. He determined that the thermocouple/flame sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. Due to the age of my furnace (17 years), he didn't have the part on the truck. So he drove across town in the snow and returned to install it. Problem solved - heat is back! How do I define great companies? Excellent staff, focus on customer service, fair prices and quick response when things don't go as planned. Gary, the owner of the firm, was very helpful and showed appropriate concern as things unfolded. I'm revisiting this review for the second time to warn you to stay away from this company. Shortly after my last unsatisfactory review, I got a call from the owner advising people were going to get fired because of the rating. What I got was empty promises about ensuring my satisfaction but nothing else. I previously posted a picture of the poor workmanship on the installation inside my home and to date, nothing has been done. I was promised a return call to rectify the problem and haven't heard one thing from anyone. Now that they have my money, I'm assuming they have no interest in providing customer service. This review is because of a problem I encountered with the outside unit and again it appears to be poor workmanship. The new picture shows my unit full of grass clipping from my lawnmower. I've spent too much time this summer clearing grass from the area where the exposed wires are shown, and the tubes that exit the unit and go into my house. What I just realized is that there are bolt holes for a panel which apparently seasons didn't feel the need to install. It appears the short cut is the only route these people know. These people talk a good game but when it comes down to it, you will be disappointed. I do not want to hear from this company again as I will just deal with the problem. read more
