Our condo's previous owner took out all the closet doors. So, we were missing doors for our two bedrooms and pantry. We suspected this would be an expensive project, so for years, we just put it off. Finally, last year we decided to get it done. In addition to the closet doors, we also replaced 5 interior doors for "free" (I say "free" because there were other costs associated with the interior doors). Yes, this was an expensive project--there's no sugarcoating that. BUT, it was worth it. Someone comes out for initial measurements. Then, you go to the showroom to pick your doors, and get a breakdown in pricing. The cost of the doors adds up quickly (e.g. knobs, installation cost, etc.). But, they're not trying to pressure you into anything. Once you place the order, it takes several weeks for the doors to come. In the meantime, someone comes back out to do more precise measurements. The install took a full day and a couple of hours the next day. After watching them work through some challenges with the install (e.g., crooked walls), I began to understand why it costs so much. I mean, I don't think we would've gotten close to the same results going with a big box hardware store. It's been about a year, and our doors still look great. We just wish we would've tackled this project sooner! read more

We recently decided to replace the original contractor grade interior doors in our house, and I can't believe what a difference it has made. First, they look so much better. Second, they are balanced, and open and close smoothly. And third, and perhaps most importantly, the bifold doors aren't falling off the tracks anymore. Replacing the hardware was also a huge improvement, with levers that are easier to use. Eric and his team did such a great job with installation, and I really appreciated all of the suggestions. Several of the door frames weren't standard, and rather than ordering custom doors, Eric suggested reframing the opening, which saved us a lot of money. Another closet wasn't the standard depth, and Eric designed a closet with built-in shelves that work perfectly for the space and for storage. Regarding the durability of the doors after about 1 month, the one we had installed for the primary bathroom has started to bubble. Kind of looks disturbing. It seems to be due to moisture which would be expected of a bathroom. We were told the only thing to do about this is to sand it down and repaint and that this is not covered under warranty. Disappointing. Even more disappointing when considering that our old door which the previous owner spray painted with cheap paint they had used for the rest of the house held up much better and never bubbled like this under the same conditions and for much longer. Initial service and experience was 5 stars but those aspects are short-term interactions. The durability makes it 3 stars because durability is something we have to live with. It was also something we were initially sold on when Rich claimed their doors had superior durability due to the painting process and type of paint they used. read more

These guys seriously have gone above and beyond for us, including coming back years after initial installation to fix all of our closet doors which got messed up during a floor replacement from an insurance claim. I want to be as objective as possible in this review as some of my current anger (over owner for implying us to be grifters which completely pissed me off) may come across otherwise: 1. Ordered end of Sept 2020 after everything went great. We paid the deposit the very week after meeting with Mike in the showroom. They said that there might be some delays which we were aware of, but our doors should be ready three months. 2. Doors were ready end of December and I received a call that they are ready and would be scheduled in January. I wanted some clarification on our door trim size on the new fire door and if we can provide our own trim to match front door trim. The person said that one of the owners will contact us regarding this. No one called us but we let it go. 3. Installers arrived and told us that two of the doors aren't ready due to missing parts and they will install the remaining doors. We hadn't received any update (or at-least a heads up during scheduling) on that whatsoever prior to the installers arrival and they were also not aware of that we did not know of this prior. We let that go as miscommunication and they told us that they will send the complain and one of the owners will contact us immediately. They called the office and were told that it will take atleast a month to arrive. Isn't it a common courtesy to atleast tell us explaining the delay. We still let it go and thought of talking to the owner regarding this when they call us. 4. 2-3 weeks pass and no one contacts us. I send an email out and one of the owners replies to me telling that the other owner will let me know of the details. No response after that. 5. More than 1 week pass and I send a follow up email asking for an explanation. Finally the second owner sends a single line response that he is following up with factory and will send me a response. 6. Received news that the door is delayed by another month. 7. I ask a follow up after a couple weeks and the doors are further delayed. During this time, the knobs on other doors have become loose after only 1-2 months of use and I send an email asking about it (I would have called but I wanted this in writing because my requests in call or in person were being ignored). No response to that email. 8. Finally doors arrive and are installed. We had issues with the final product in that we thought that the new trims will be painted and caulked. There was some miscommunication along both sides in this case and requested the owner to contact us before final payment. And absolutely conveniently we get a contact very soon in this case (How I wish they followed up in the same speedy manner when we were facing other issues)! Lots of complains and back and forth later ( there was temper lost on both sides and we also may be wrong due to earlier frustrations depicted above which I own up to). I honestly don't even think that the owner knew about the past issues we faced and thought that we were grifting the company asking for a discount. I just was frustrated in the end, lost most of my day of work and gave the full amount to let it not escalate any further. 9. The installer (during second installation) mentioned that all the handles in the doors were loose during first installation and aligned/tightened them. Hoped they would have checked the handles the first time (but honestly they were great so, do not feel like they should be held accountable on missing it) or at-least followed up on this when I brought the concern up. The frustrating part is that we were extremely excited and looking forward to these doors and also had planned on getting our closets done by them this year (we had already had our closet designed). We liked Mike so much that we had paid him the deposit the very week after meeting with him in the showroom. Overall, it was an extremely frustrating process, complete lack of communication, no service on their installed product and I personally would not recommend Seattle Doors and Closets to anyone. There is no accountability and I don't think the owner is even aware of on goings in the company. read more

Coming from the East Coast, we bought a house in Duvall with no bedroom closet doors (a design choice per the realtor). Who does that? Contacted Seattle Doors & Closets and Rich came out for the estimate. Very professional, and we ended up getting interior doors from them too. Due to the pandemic, it took a while (my only complaint), but we finally had all the doors installed. Johnny & Devin were incredibly professional. They took their time and made sure that every door was installed properly and looked the best it could! What a difference! We are so happy that we went with Seattle Doors & Closets, and if you can, request Johnny for the install because he is meticulous and does a great install! Because of family issues, I am just getting around to fixing all the damage done when Seattle Door and Closet installed doors last spring. Woodwork around the doors was damaged by splits in the wood, chips in paint and messy puddy. A knife slipped and cut into the wall. After I finish repairing the damage, I will have to repaint the woodwork that was just painted in the last year. As I work on this damage, I am getting more angry with the lack of respect this company showed my home. read more

On installation day, the team did remarkable work, in that Luke and his fellows made countless adjustments and modifications on the fly. I don't usually write reviews, since I don't feel I have much to say. But after working with Seattle Doors and Closets I cannot express how happy I am with the job they did. It's been a summer of home improvement projects and I have grown used to being at least a little disappointed with the craftsmanship or communication or both from others that I've hired. Not so with Seattle Doors and Closets. There were a few normal hiccups during our project, minor delays and small miscommunications, but those were all quickly and professionally resolved. The men who actually installed our doors seemed to genuinely want to do a good job, not just get home as soon as possible. They frequently paused to ask whether I would prefer this or that modification, making sure everything would function best for my lifestyle.
