My husband and I absolutely LOVE treasure hunting at the Goodwill Outlet. It's such a strange experience, digging through the random castoffs found here. I love the idea of reusing and recycling, and try to avoid blatant consumerism whenever I can, so shopping here allows me to feel like I'm doing my part. Be prepared to get a little grubby. Visitors are tasked with digging through 8 foot long, 4 foot wide bins full of random, "garage sale leftover-type" finds. We've made so many great discoveries here! I purchased a Timbuk2 bag in perfect condition, and paid only a dollar or two for it. We've found first edition children's books, as well as home decor I now treasure. This location is in a very industrial, sketchy location. There's a very large parking lot, but I'd suggest parking as close to the front door as possible. You want as many eyes on your vehicle as possible. Here are a few tips to make your shopping experience as fun as possible: 1. Wear a face mask. It's dusty, dirty, and a bit ick sometimes when you dig through the bins. Also, consider latex gloves. 2. Be patient, and make sure you dig to the bottom of the bins. Some of the best treasures are small and found underneath all the other junk. 3. Housewares and non-clothing items are brought out first thing in the morning, and they transition to clothing only later in the day. (Generally around noon) 4. Be polite. It gets crowded here, and it's easy to invade the personal space of others. Make sure when you return items to the bins, they're not placed precariously. Things can get messy. If you like garage sales and thrifting, I'm almost positive you'll enjoy shopping at "the bins." There are treasures to be found here. read more

I went here yesterday to try to find some maternity pants because nothing I own fits me right now and I am completely broke. So I figured we better place than the outlets. The lady that rang me up, patted My Bill essentially. I bought a laundry basket full of clothing and then a record or two records in one case. She charged me 8.25 pounds for my laundry basket by itself and an additional 8.25 lbs for the clothes separately. I was over charged nearly $20. Unfortunately, I was in a rush to go to my doctors appointment and I didn't catch it right away. I'm pissed that could've been a whole new maternity wardrobe for me and I know I'm probably never gonna get my money back. I'm a homeless pregnant woman. Disgusting! Do better people! I went to Goodwill store on a rainy day for the first time because I was looking for a rain jacket or at least an umbrella. Lack of customer service. Place was organize, I saw a pant that has a red menstrual period stain. It gross me out. My daughter wanted to leave instantly, I politely let the staff know so they don't lose customers. She rolled her eyes, took it off my hand and said OK with an attitude like you don't want it then give it to me. I give a one star because the security guard was there to protect the store. It was an interesting experience visiting the outlet bins. The value is pretty great, and they keep the bins moving. There are clearly professionals that know what they are doing there (hunting for re-sale), but also a varied bunch of regular folks from all walks of life shopping alongside. An entertaining fellow shopper was trying on costumes that she found as she shopped and it was pretty funny because I would look up and there she was in another mask or hat. I never thought I would ever say this, but I went thrifting on my weekend getaway to Seattle! And guess what? It made for the best time killer before heading to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for my flight back to Chicago. While in search of a place to park, the parking lot felt very congested because there was a consistent in-and-out flow of customers. It is a different concept here at this Goodwill Outlet. Rather than looking through clothes that are hung up on racks; there are large bins with items scattered all in them. The fun part is digging through the bins in search of something that catches your interest which can take some time. As others pointed out I recommend bringing gloves as well because you never know what you will touch inside those bins. As I dug through the bins I pulled out a number of things from briefs & panties, bras, pants, shoes, blouses, shirts, jackets, shorts, bags, and purses which were by known brands in varied conditions; God knows if it were cleaned or not. I ended up purchasing a distressed ultra high-rise skirt by Hollister which I plan to sell on eBay. As one that loves to sell items on eBay the item was very hard to pass up. An item in great condition like that needs a good home to go to rather than pinned up inside a bin. I also found a cute black & pink windbreaker jacket by Head that I hope to wear for running outside this fall when temperatures are cooler. At this Goodwill Outlet, they price items by how much it weighs in a bin at the register, so I recommend gauging the things you consider by its weight. Yanira, the cashier who rang me up, contributed to the line moving faster as there were a couple registers open. I have to say thank goodness we do not have this concept in Chicago or at least I have not found it because it could easily become addicting. I paid a little over $2 for the windbreaker jacket and the skirt combined which was a total score as a thrifter in my opinion. The fun part for me was squeezing both extra items into my travel bag as I prepared to fly back out to Chicago. All in all a pleasant experience shopping at this Goodwill Outlet. This was definitely a surprise stop that we made while we visited Seattle back in June. I have gone to an outlet back in California, near me but it was not setup like this one. At this particular place, almost anything you get from there is based on an appointed price point by pound. Certain items, like furniture were given a specific price, but basically everything else was free for all and what you can scavenge and find while you look through rows and rows of bins. I was surprised that I dug deep to find cool toys, figures and items to add to my ever growing collection of things back home and I even found sand dollars! It gets a bit tricky with going through the bins because you face people that throw things aside to other bins and maybe finding broken items that could cut your finger as you hunt. And people do get aggressive with the things they find as well as in the parking lot in a sense of not caring that they double parked and blocked our car after we checked out and went outside to put our hail in the car. My review is for my experience prior to COVID & safety measures were in place. The Goodwill Outlet is a hidden gem for my thrifters and treasure hunters out there. The experience can be overwhelming as you are digging through bins of clothing shoes, bags, miscellaneous items, etc. Textiles start off at $1.59/lb. I've found brands ranging from Lululemon, Coach, AGL, Vans, Onitsuka, Birkenstock, LongChamp, Tumi, Madewell, etc. It's a hit and miss when it comes to shoes. This place is a treasure hunter's paradise! It is not for the faint of heart. There are so many different bins through the warehouse divided into clothes, shoes, housewares, totes and bags. If you can grab a cart, do it. If there are none around, grab a tote from one of the bins. It doesn't matter where you start, when you see something you like put it in your cart or bag. If you see a new bin roll out, stand back until the employees give the go ahead. There will be a frenzy like no other when new bins come out. I came on a Saturday around 2pm, HUGE mistake. People were waiting around and i was waiting with them then after 30 min of waiting an employee comes out and tells everyone with a number to line up. I was so confused at first and didn't know what was happening but They all line up and they start going in. Then the next batch of people lined up and an employee came out to pass out numbers up to 50 i believe. We had to wait another hour to go in. So I ended up going in at 4 and i guess we were the last batch of people because they started letting everyone that had just got there in. Not gonna lie i left with some pretty good finds lol I love goodwill and I understand how covid has affected the shopping experience but if your trying to shop dont go on the weekends or go right before they close or super early. The bins are always crazy but it's a little less aggressive here than in LA area in my experience. A lot of outerwear and outdoor brands. People are generally ok with some really nice. I found serval Lululemon mens shorts and some nice cashmere and wool items for myself. $7 total = total win to stop while in Seattle on business. I just love the thrill of the hunt! read more

I'm a regular at this location because it's the closest, but I'm not a fan of the way they do business. Bins sit for hours without rotation. Other Goodwill outlets stay open later and do regular rotations. Instead, this location overfills the bins, and allows their daily customers to skirt the rules for shopping. Fights break out every time I've shopped there, there's a ton of theft, and the regulars behave more aggressively than I've experienced at other bins. I've found some good deals, but the environment leaves a lot to be desired compared to other outlets I've shopped. I'd give this a one star review except for the fact that, if you're willing to throw elbows in physical defense, you can find some good deals. It's really going downhill. read more

I found an authentic Burberry scarf which rang up at 35 cents and a multi colored wig (great for Halloween ) for 30 cents. I am so frustrated with this place. Sometimes I just want 1 pair of shoes, but there are people that walk out of there with over a hundred pairs of shoes. I think they are trying to get people to "stand behind the yellow line", but a lot of customers simple do not listen. I came here for a look at some Halloween pieces for my outfit (a 1970s Miss America).. I needed a vintage dress, and also wanted to donate a few bags of clothes, so I left work early. Here is the sequence of events as they unfolded: 1) Drive up. Every single spot around the WAREHOUSE is taken at 1:30 on a WEEKDAY. I'm shocked-- 'don't these people have jobs??' I thought, frustrated. Ohhh.... Of course there are some shady looking people congregating by some trees, staring. 2) Donate the bags of clothes in a big bin outside. Not enjoying the lack of personal interaction when I donate, like at other thrift stores. 3) Walk in. Smell is... overpowering. 4) Everything is in these big bins, and nothing is on hangers. The place is a huge warehouse with a cold, empty feeling. I looked around, couldn't find one acceptable thing. And the people that were there.. it was just really sad, I'll be honest. Everything from MC Hammer pants to mullets to missing teeth. I was stared at because I stuck out like a sore thumb. 5) Walked out. Didn't find one thing I could use, or even purchase for fun. Love this place! Bring hand sanitizer and/or gloves and just have a field day. I went twice with my friend, one of those with her boyfriend. We were all able to find stuff, and it was super awesome to shop together all in one store being we're different sizes with different tastes and budgets. The prices are cheap enough that you could bring almost anyone and find stuff within budget. It's also quite time-consuming to dig through the bins, so it's a perfect hangout (or maybe a date if you're with the right kind of person..?). Some of the stuff is totally random like fishing vests, laundry bags, and hunting gear... It's sold by the pound, so burnout shirts and stuff are super, super cheap. Love this place. I am a teacher and can find all my games here that I use for lessons for the students. The staff is awesome and very friendly. Actually the staff is funny with all they have to deal with. Get there early because the parking is never open otherwise. BTW bring your own bags because they charge and the carts wheels lock about five feet from the store so you cannot depend on the shopping cart to get your stuff to your car :) Great selection of everything you never knew you needed. When new the huge bins of items come out - yes bins, you have to DIG! - everyone literally circles around them and cannot touch anything until the employees say go. It's insane. I have been to this location twice this December 2018. The first time I went was an eye opener to the opioid epidemic in Seattle as we were sorting through bins there were several men and women bent over or frozen in place and there was a ton of foot traffic in & outside (that was a Monday). The second time I went it was more manageable and it seemed like a regular goodwill traffic and the door traffic seemed to be less and there was parking (Saturday). Be prepared for anything here. The second I walked in, security was discussing some problem customer and police being on the way. I assumed they were keeping eyes on a shoplifter, no big deal. I was in the store for all of two minutes when a very troubled young woman wielded an umbrella and turned around to point it at me while I passed, shouting "Stay the fuck away from me, rapist". I walked right out of the store. I don't doubt that you can find great deals here, but it hardly seemed worth the trouble of getting assaulted or accidentally picking up a used needle from one of the bins. read more

I read on the Goodwill website that this location had good measures for social distancing - waiting outside, a certain number of people let in at a time, limit of one hour, masks required - so my friend and I decided to give it a try. We arrived half an hour before it opened and got in line, set up outside with spots marked 6 feet apart. Many people were saving their spots in line with water bottles or other objects and sitting in their cars, which worked fine. However, when it was announced that they were opening and letting 50 people in, everybody immediately rushed to the front. Dozens of people behind us pushed ahead, and management and security did nothing to stop it, only counting people as they went past. The line was not enforced at all. We left. When I was trying to leave in my car, a Goodwill truck nearly backed up into me - without any flashers or other signs - and did not stop when I honked multiple times, so I had to quickly back away. read more
