Not bad usually but staff needs more consistency or training on customer. This lady was complaining about 6 people coming in 20 minutes before closing and she was complaining to quit her job with the manager on the phone and also said aloud to all customers in the room "wtf" if you know what I mean. People have daytime jobs and cannot always come in to the staff's preference and this woman's actions are highly inappropriate and unprofessional. She is taking 15 minutes up of everyone's time to try to figure out one person's tanning schedule since that person already tanned once today and they have a policy only one tan per day. I was visiting family in the area and stopped by for a versaspa spray tan before leaving on a trip. The girl at the front desk was adamant about selling me a package even though I didn't live in the state. As for the tan, it was HORRIBLE. I get versaspa spray tans all the time and i've never had a problem like this. As I was getting sprayed I knew it would turn out bad. Instead of a fine mist it dispensed as a splatter, and sure enough once it developed I looked like I had freckles/liver spots instead of a spray tan. My guess is the nozzles need cleaning or replacing. It would have also been nice to have a space heater in the tanning room. read more

The manager there, Kirstina is so sweet & so is the rest of their staff. I've been a long term patron of Desert Sun, and have gone to different locations throughout Western WA, and some are definitely better than others when it comes to customer service; and this location has it down!! I felt immediately welcomed, even though it was my first time at this location, they were chatting with me like I'm a long time regular. I didn't used to like to go to this location, I used to go to the one in downtown Bellevue, but since I can walk here from work it's super convenient. The staff here is super helpful and don't try and upsell very much. They ask you what you're looking for and try and sell you the products that you actually want. There is a guy that works there in the morning/afternoon that is super nice. I never have to wait very long no matter what time I go in there and everything is really clean. I would continue to go to this salon even if I were to get another job or move farther away. read more

ALL the girls have been more than welcoming and never pushy when it comes to membership and products although always very informative and helpful! I feel compelled to write this review after multiple burns with Desert Sun (no pun intended, I always spray tan ). It all started in January 2016 when they inexplicably closed their Bellevue location with no warning. Honestly, the store was open one day and boarded up the next, no signage with information or anything. So, I look up the next closest store and it is Redmond. Off to Redmond I go. I had been a customer at the Redmond location for a few months without complaint. Sometimes it was busy, but whatever. But then the night before I'm leaving to go to the beach, I walk in at 7:45 (they close at 8). The girl tells me I'm too late, I won't be able to spray that night. That the system truly won't let her program in another tan. In my opinion, if you close at 8, set up your system to go until 8:15 or so to accommodate anyone who walks in a few minutes before closing. As long as you are in the door by close, you should be able to tan, right?! So I'm pretty sure I was near tears (I'm going to be pasty in my bikini all week!) but I begrudgingly agreed and turned to leave. Then, the angel behind the counter, who felt my pain, offered to let me use one of her tans (I guess they let employees program their OWN tans after close, just no new customers). So she "traded" one of my tans for hers, and I was able to get my spray in. I left the store at 8:10 bronzed and relieved. I'm sorry, but that was strike 2 for this company. I see the West Seattle location has good reviews, so I may trek across town to try that one out. But avoid this Eastside location if you can. It's really too bad also, because they seem to have high quality equipment and the tan itself turns out beautiful every time. They just can't get their customer service right. read more

Worst tanning experience I ever had. It was my first time there and I asked for the best high pressure bed , to later find out she put me in a medium pressure bed TWICE which was a waste of my money because I didn't get any color out of it. Plus I don't think the bed was very clean because my whole body was itching after using it . And that has never happened to me at other tanning places !the girl that was helping me seemed like she hated her job and wasn't friendly at all. I will continue to tan at seattle sun tan . They are a little pricey but worth every penny. read more

Lots of options (three different level beds, red light, two different spray tans....) and very reasonable prices. Monthly is best deal. Silver beds have the best base tan longevity and help with acne, icthiosis, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. read more

Terrible customer service. I was the first person to walk in and since the girl (who was new) was taking a long time finding the promo code on my coupon she helped 3 other people behind me. 1 of which took way longer than I would have taken. I had Printed a coupon off line and I was informed I would not be able to use it cause I had tanned at a desert sun before (nearly 10 years earlier). That wasn't a huge issue but then I wanted to sign up for a monthly tanning session and was informed I would be charged $40 including activation fee. $10 = $30 at Desert Sun I visited the Bellevue/Overlake location today intending to purchase a 1 month plan. I spoke with a woman who said she used to live in Hawaii, maybe Adrian was her name. I told her I wanted to do the $10 1 month plan from your web offer; http://www.desertsuntanning.com/offers/ but she acted like she never heard of the offer but told me if I wanted it, I would have to pay a $20 sign up fee in addition to the $10. I found this to be very underhanded and started to leave, her parting comments were " If I want to only spend $10 I can buy a 1 session for $10." As I drove home being upset that an advertised $10 month was really $30 I intended to share this experience on Yelp and BBB but in fairness I contacted customer service requesting a reply in case this is just a uninformed employee or whether this is the real policy. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY!!! If I could, I would really have given this place no stars. I signed cancellation paperwork which they lost--of course silly me for not keeping my cancellation paperwork for a silly thing like indoor tanning! They charged my account anyways because they never processed my cancellation. When I came into the place to tell them what they had done, she told me that the manager would call me back which she did not do. So I went in a 2nd time and while she's trying to look up my stuff another customer walked in and she had the audacity to ask me if she could help him! extremely unhappy with this location. I was excited to purchase their teeth whitening kit with their current promotion of 40% off everything. I called before hand to be sure that the kit was not excluded from the sale and was told that in fact it was excluded. skeptical, I called two other desert on locations who both informed me that all of their teeth whitening products are in fact included in the promotion. Since this location is closest to me, I still decided to come here and hopes to purchase this product under the promotion that they advertise. The girl working informs me that this is not her normal location and since the product is not ringing up under the promotional price, she does not have the authority to change the price to the advertised promotional price. what sense does that make? Do not advertise a promotion stating that everything is 40% off when you cannot honor that. Honestly just this incident has caused you to lose my business. I also had a similar experience to the other review. My husband signed up for a month month membership simply for our wedding. He normally does not tan but wanted to for the month leading up to our wedding. About two months later we get a bill saying he owes over $100. The card he had used to sign up for the plan was closed since we merged accounts and now they wanted payment. He called and spoke to a sympathetic girl who said this was happening a lot but that she was not able to do anything. She said she would have her manager call---who never did. He called again and spoke to someone else and we are still waiting for a manager to call. I guess we will need to call corporate next. Stay clear of this place. They will wheel and deal you and do anything to make a few extra bucks. Plus, it is dirty and their beds aren't even that great! I read lots of horror stories about tanning places and I was pretty apprehensive about handing my credit card over for fear that it would be charged every month even after I cancelled my membership. That did not happen here! I was greeted warmly every time I walked in. The staff were always very welcoming and helpful. When I cancelled my membership I did not get any hassle and my card has not been charged since! If I decide to tan again next summer I will definitely be returning there. read more

The worst experience in my life from bad beds to service, I'm speechless, just trust me and stay away

I have tanned here in the past. I purchased a package here Monday planning on a trip this weekend. Monday's tan - no problem. The young lady at the desk was professional and competent, the entire transaction took less than 10 minutes. BUT THEN I came in Weds to tan again. Young man did not know how the computer worked. Assigned me to a room, after I was naked he asked me to come to the lobby because he was having trouble "getting the computer to turn on the room". Threw on my outer wear thinking it would be a quick switch. Sat in the lobby, underwear in my hand for 20 minutes while he took care of 4 walk in customers before coming back to me. Forgot my name in the interim. Still no luck. He somehow used one of my package tans - showed 3 minutes - and I could not get a bed assignment. Left after 30 minutes no tan. Came in again today. Young lady at the counter looked stoned. First tells me I haven't been there since 2014, asked if I came from another store (5 years ago) but could not for some reason get the computer to assign me a room. After 15 minutes she did find the account, which showed only 4 left because I was charged for the non-tan on Weds, but she did not assign me a room or get me a tan today. Not sure why. Asked for a refund which they cannot do, given a customer service number which did not answer to negotiate a refund I guess. I would give them no stars if that was a choice. I was the only person there at the time. A second issue - the rooms are filthy. Had time to look about while I was waiting naked on Weds, there is piles of dirt and dust behind the bed (room 1 - there's a window, how can you miss it). So if I hadn't already had a package I would not have been back, and I most certainly now will not. read more

I've never had a good experience here except they are very clean I will give them that and have great beds. Too high pressure in sales though. But if you negotiate with them they will normally give you a good deal. But I'm still on the search for a good tanning salon in the Bellevue area. read more

First time tanning at this place for a week and already had a horrible experience. I asked the girl to put me in one of their best beds and trusted her to do so to later find out she put me in a medium pressure bed. Which btw wasn't very sanitized , My whole body was itching after using it!! She also wasn't very friendly , rolled her eyes as I was walking in because she was going to go clean a bed so I guess I interrupted her. I will stick with seattle sun tan , after all it is voted to be the best tanning in seattle :) . It is a little pricey but worth every cent! read more
