They are extremely professional and left no trace of the many limbs and branches they dealt with. Would absolutely recommend them if you need tree service done. Seattle Tree Services came out to remove some limbs from my neighbors trees. My neighbor had one tree that had some long branches that were hanging over my roof and driveway. I asked the guys at Seattle Tree Services if they wouldn't mind taking out the long branches. They did and I was very happy with their work. They cleaned up all the mess too. Mike Stanton and son Charlie and crew today removed a large dead hemlock that I was unable to save. It was in a portion of yard surrounded by shrubs and landscaping and right next to 2 neighbor's yards. Charlie climbed and surgically removed all the branches and roped down the largest and the rounds. No damage was done to any landscaping below. They chipped all branches and cleaned up very well. Entrance to my property and driveway was very tight and difficult to navigate but they kept at it and made it happen. The crew was polite, responsive and hard working. The price was very fair. I highly recommend "Seattle Tree Service" and wouldn't hesitate to use them again if needed. They are a smaller family owned company that takes great pride in their business. We had a large Atlas cedar die recently in our backyard. Based on the recommendations from friends, I contacted Mike Stanton, owner of Seattle Tree Service. Mike came the very next day! He gave me an excellent quote for the removal, as well as for the removal of several troublesome limbs of other trees in our yard. I found him to be very personable and friendly. Mike and his son arrived a couple days later, on time and ready to work. They were obviously very knowledgeable, worked with the utmost safety in mind, and had the work done in no time. I highly recommend this Company. Mike Stanton and Son Charlie! WOW I could not have asked for a better job. They had to work around a lot of plantings and did not harm one thing. They cut a tree and cut back a 20 ft at least very thick Laurel Shrub about 50 ft or more in length. Top sides both and well it was amazing! Very friendly and they even blew every leaf and there were many, away off the grass from the tree and the shrubs. Family owned. I will always use them for any of my needs and I again highly recommend them to everyone everywhere. I hired Seattle Tree Service to remove some dead limbs that overhang my home. They did, in fact, remove some dead limbs from the tree but not the limbs overhanging the roof. It was nearly dark when they finished so I paid them on the assumption that they had completed the work we had agreed upon. The next day I noticed that the overhanging limbs had not been removed. So I called and spoke with Andy, the sales rep, and he said they would remove them later that week. That was 7 weeks ago. Since then, I've spoken repeatedly with the owner, Mike, and with Andy, and they have repeatedly promised to cut the limbs. In fairness, they did come by once when I wasn't here but they didn't go up into the tree to remove the limbs -- they weren't sure where to go, since there are several trees nearby. Last week I left a message asking for a refund, since it was obvious that they had no intention of performing the work for which I paid them. They haven't responded to my call. Nor have they issued a refund. I recommend finding another tree service. That's what I'm going to do. read more

Professional, fast, and friendly service. From start to finish, Seattle Tree Service was easy to work with and performed quality work. We needed a tall sickly pine and a spruce removed from our yard, and requested quotes from 4 different tree service companies, including a few that had better and more reviews on Yelp than STS. A couple of them didn't respond and the ones who did end up quoting the job had astronomical prices. Seattle Tree Service's bid was quite reasonable and they were easy to work with during the pre-sale process, so we booked them. On the day of the removal, Mike and his crew very quickly got set up, removed the trees, cleaned up, and left us the firewood. The whole thing was done in under a couple hours. read more

I love getting great customer service. This is one business that did not provide that at all. Last fall we had a tree fall on our property. Andy was prompt in getting back to me and had people out the following day to remove the tree. However, the guys left a huge jagged tree stump and loads of rotted tree trunk wood scattered all over the backyard. I called Andy and left a message asking him to 1) remove the trunk as he said he would; and 2) to take away the debris. He called back and left a message. I called him back the following day and said he could come whenever. They removed the trunk and the stump, and still left debris all over the backyard. This was beginning of December. I gave up calling. Now Spring is here and I have to dump all this debris myself. As nice and polite as Andy was, I am very disappointed that they did not follow up after several phone calls. Bad customer service! I would not use them again. They were recommended by my insurance adjuster. Next time I'll come to Yelp to see what others recommend. read more

The hawthorne tree on a rental property west of us was hanging over half of our front deck, making a big mess year round. The landlord scheduled Mike Stanton/Seattle Tree Service to come out to estimate the cost of cutting the branches over our deck, as well as other dead branches up in the canopy. Mike asked us to clear our deck but they never came to our property; they actually left before we thought they were done, without a word. And thus, I guess, never saw how their work looked from our side: branches dangling, cut pieces still on the ground, etc. The charge was $858 to cut the two big branches crossing onto our lot and to trim some dead branches (not all were done). We paid 25% to be neighborly. When I got back in town a week later, I contacted Mike multiple times about coming to finish. When he finally picked up, I asked if he had been on the job site that day, he said Yes. !! So this must be STS's standard of work. He told me how busy he was, what long days he worked, and said he'd get to it the following week. After multiple calls that week, he agreed to come Sat 08/25 to finish the work, so I let the Landlord know (tree is on his rental property). He alerted the tenant about someone being in the yard. But Mike was a No Show. No call, no text. Contractors are so busy with Seattle's booming real estate market but forget their reputation for quality and consistency will carry them through the lean times, huh? I had no idea he was going to blow off the appointment but while he was there doing mop-up, I planned to get a quote about trimming the rest of our property yard ... after being absentee owners for over 12 years, it's waaaay overgrown. Needless to say I won't be using them and cannot recommend them, based on my one experience. Interesting: I just talked to the landlord (owner of the property with the hawthorne) and he said Mike had called *him* and reported I wanted more branches cut (instead of what I had asked for: cleaning up the dangling branches and the chunks left on our property). So, not only is the work quality poor but the communication is off. Apparently he and his wife run this by themselves. Multiple attempts to get a receipt for my payment have failed ... "didn't she send it to you?" Not good. I just looked at the other reviews; only one other for 2018. read more

Seattle Tree Service did a fantastic job on our yard. We had one tree that was clearly dying, they took us through options for saving the tree and unfortunately we had to choose removal. They came in and removed the tree the next day as well as sailed two additional trees. I hired Seattle Tree Service even after reading the one negative review on Yelp. I just got a good vibe from them and decided to test my luck. I'm glad I did because they did a good job. Had them prune my giant doug fir and remove a lot of broken limbs and dead wood. The tree looks great, the guys were friendly and efficient, and they let me keep the wood chips. I would suggest anytime you have someone do work on/around your home you check the work to make sure you are satisfied before the vendor leaves. read more

Mike and his crew are AMAZING! A couple of years ago 2 trees fell on our house. One of them was a very complicated removal and they took the time to figure out a solid plan (the tree would have crashed through our deck had they taken it down wrong). It worked great. We just used them again to take a tree down and trim some branches. They give good, solid advice about the health of trees, weak spots, and how to maintain them to keep them going solid and safe. I hired Seattle Tree Service to cut down a total of 12 branches on two of my neighbor's cedar trees that were overhanging on my property. I hired them because they had performed essentially the same job for my neighbors a couple of weeks ago, and (one would assume) were familiar with the requirements of the job. My neighbor informed me that she had called around and got a very good quote from them, so I went ahead because the job was relatively small. I also checked out the Consumers Checkbook and their prices appeared to be fairly low for similar jobs. I had never used them before. It was difficult to get hold of them--I always had to leave a voicemail--but got hold of them after several days, got the owner to come over for a quote, and signed on. On the day of the job, they arrived 2 hours late, but finished the job in about 90 minutes. I quickly checked; everything looked ok, so I paid them. I should have checked more closely, because they left debris on my neighbor's balcony (as well as mine), and left three stacks of logs on HER DRIVEWAY. None of us uses firewood, so I had to dispose of the logs myself. There were about 70 logs, weighing between 15 and 30 pounds each. It took me longer to dispose of the logs than it took for them to cut off the branches!!I I'm beginning to think this 2-star rating is a tad generous. read more

Do not hire these guys! I agree with a couple of other comments that the estimator was not honest and forthright with his bid. Once they got on site and began cutting down an 85 ft tree in my yard, I was told it would be another $500 to have the trunk pieces removed from my residence. I had to agree to this as they were just going to leave it lay. Instead, they called another vendor to split the wood in front of my house to take it away. I asked the other vendor how much they were getting paid by Seattle Tree Service to haul away the wood and he said "nothing"!!! In essence, Seattle Tree Service collected $500 from me to make a phone call to have someone else haul away the tree trunk. They also wanted an additional $1100 to grind the stump, which I refused to do. I then had to beg the tree cutter to cut the stump down to a satisfactory level. The kicker was when they completely smashed my irrigation system. They repaired a small part of it and told me it was functional. When I turned my sprinkler system on a few weeks later, it had several more broken pipes, I called them and no answer or response. I had the system repaired, which cost me another $250 and I called "Mike" who didn't respond. I then texted him and he did text back one time stating he would call me, which he didn't. This went on for about 2 weeks until I texted and told him I wanted reimbursement or I would take him to small claims court. He then called back when I was away from my phone and he threatened to charge me for "repairing" my sprinkler system if I took him to court. He also added that he would tell the judge that I had told him to drop the wood where the sprinklers were located. These guys are not trustworthy and I am sure that I will have to pursue a small claims suit to recover my money from the damages they caused. If you need tree work done, look for someone that is reputable as these guys are definitely NOT!!!! read more

These guys were great! I have a huge black locust tree, overhanging and leaning on my garage. They came while I was at work and removed several very large limbs. When I got home, they were already gone, the work was done just as ordered, and the yard was spotless. All smaller baranches were gone, and the large limbs (up to 14" diameter) had been cut into short lengths for firewood. The price was reasonable, and all the guys I talked to were pleasant and knowledgeable. I will hire this company again at the drop of a hat! read more
