I was looking for a place to grab a drink because the Ventura Tree Lighting and Bellringer was my pick. I went in solo but bumped in to my good friend ! We chatted / caught up for a bit until we parted ways. Service was great & I was informed about their Happy Hour. I had eaten at home , so no food for me but I did grab a beer ! It was a dollar off for Happy Hour. It wasn't crazy busy but there was a great energy in the brewery. I think a lot of people were there for the Tree Lighting downtown. I will make sure to come back and try their food. So happy they are open and took over the first real brewery in VC.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch during the week. We both ordered their cheeseburger from their lunch menu. It's a great deal! $20 for a cheeseburger, fries, and a beer! I paid a little extra for a cider instead. The smash burger was delicious. I loved the grilled onions and how cheesy it was. The fries were also delicious and had lots of flavor. The only thing that I was just okay with was the cider; it didn't taste like much. The service was good. We ordered our food at the counter, and the person at the counter brought our food to our table. Can't beat the price, and that alone would make me want to go back.

Cool place to stop for cold one and quick bite. Open since 2023, right on Main St., it's a friendly place to get a locally brewed craft beer and some good bar eats. We stopped by mid-afternoon, there were plenty of tables, large bar seating plus small patio with a few high top tables. Overall 4.0 rated for casual bar ambience, friendly service and tasty brews. Expect to pay $10-15pp for food items. We came in for a cold beer on sunny afternoon, enjoyed patio seating and shared their Fried Avocado appetizer - delicious snack to share! For a quick visit, we enjoyed our experience and friendly bar service. If you like craft beer, this is a good brewery to try. Next time I plan to come for more food sampling that compliments local brews! Enjoy!

My friends and I were in the mood to try something "new" (to us) in downtown Ventura. We remembered that we've been all wanting to try BellRinger Brewing Co. and committed to the mission. My friends and I were really impressed with their food menu! Two pages front to back - at a small local brewery? Pretty unheard of but we were stoked. They had plenty of appetizers for sharing which we loved. But their mains were a pretty long list as well - burgers, hotdogs, salads, sandwiches, tacos and weekly specials. Pretty cool to see Pozole and Pork Belly Tacos on their specials menu. My friend and I both had a Balcom Canyon hibiscus cider which was super refreshing and hit the spot. The three of us shared a combination of appetizers and main dishes: *Fried Avocado Fries - literally a pound of fried avocado bites for only $12.....in this economy?! An absolute steal of a deal! *Extra Crispy Buffalo Wings *BellRinger Dog & the Ballpark Dog The food was an absolute home run (they have Dodger memorabilia inside so I can make this pun.) Everything was clearly made fresh to order and the portions were super big for very reasonable prices. They also don't skimp on the dipping sauces and toppings, they also have that good-good homemade ranch. I'm definitely a fan of this spot. It looks unassuming from the outside and could use a little music or energy BUT the food for a brewery is better then I would have ever expected. The staff working was nice and you order up at the counter so it's pretty casual. Prices again were pretty reasonable for the big portions and quality. Glad my friends and I gave this spot a try, totally hit the spot. I will be back.

This spot is the real deal. Great beer, amazing people, and easily the best smash burgers around. The kind of place you walk into once and immediately start planning your next visit. Josh and Cameron are incredible. They're super friendly, always down to chat about the beers, and somehow remember what you liked last time. The beer list is stacked, and everything tastes fresh and balanced. You can tell they care about what they're doing. The vibe is just easy. Dogs hanging out under tables, a few arcade games in the corner, families, regulars, and first-timers. It's the kind of spot that feels like a neighborhood hangout, even if you don't live nearby. If you're into good beer, great food, and chill people, this place is 100% worth checking out.

Chill spot with a good amount of seatings. They have house beers to choose from and guest beers as well. Service was chill and not overwhelming. We ordered: Smash burger was good with their sauce and caramelized onions . Wings were slightly dry

Came here for lunch in a slow Thursday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! I opted for the lunch special which was $20 with one of their house beers. There are a few options and I went for the two tacos with tortilla chips and salsa. The tacos were DELISH with fresh corn tortillas that were crisped up. Everyone's food in my party looked super good - chicken Caesar wrap, smash burger, corn dog, and bratwurst. I'll definitely be back here next time I'm in the area!

Found this place passing through Ventura because of InKind, and would rate this place very highly in customer service, beers and the food. Josh was really patient with us trying all the beers, introduced himself and asked us our names and made us feel at home. I had food off the seasonal menu and the pozole was very flavorful and I would recommend the tamale as well. My husband had the BBQ burger and would highly recommend that as well. If you are driving by this area and need to stop for a beer and food, give BellRinger a try, you will not be disappointed!

It was a solid grilled fish taco with not a ton of pomp and circumstance. Just unadulterated goodness. Fast forward to my recent visit - it didn't quite hit the same though I'm sure my palette has since evolved. The World Famous grilled fish taco ($7.95) was good, but was only made better with the in house sweet chili fire sauce. Of the things we ordered, I did really enjoy the ahicado ($13.75) which is ahi tuna mixed in lemon infused olive oil on top of avocado and served with wonton chips. I love a wonton chip situation and paired with the fresh ahi, it made for a perfect bite. The guy next to us ordered several Parmesan hard shell tacos ($5.50) so I did too (with shredded chicken. These were unexpectedly very tasty. The chicken was moist and flavorful. Ten. Judging from the lines at 2:00PM on a Saturday afternoon, Spencer MaKenzie's is a Ventura institution even if I won't be thinking about the grilled fish tacos n-e-more. PSA: dining on the patio is the move even if you have to wait.

First off, the parking here is a nightmare. I literally got boxed in and had to ask someone to move their car so I could back out. Secondly, me and my coworker stop here at 11:30am for an early lunch. There is literally 1 other person there who had already ordered and got their meal just as me and my coworker sit down after ordering. We ordered 7 tacos in total... 30 minutes later the food still hadn't arrived. I finally go up to the counter to see if something was wrong and the guy had no idea about our order and said he was sorry that they had a big catering order. As a former business owner I do understand that stuff happens and a large catering order is good for business but ultimately that isn't the customers problem. Especially the customer that is sitting there at your establishment. Rather than tell us while we were ordering that it might take longer than normal, they don't communicate anything and then don't even address the issue until I go up there to complain. Once that happened the tacos came out in less than 5 minutes which is even more upsetting since this is how fast they should have come out to begin with. The gentleman who I think was an owner did apologize and try to offer some free drinks which I politely declined as I knew I'd never be back again. I hope that this business learns to service the customers properly that are actually dining there and if there is an issue at least takes some initiative to address it on the front side. Most working class people only get a 30-45 minute lunch to begin with so it wasn't cool that we literally wasted 30 minutes just sitting there with no explanation. There are plenty of other good places around Ventura for lunch - especially for tacos. Won't be going back here ever.
