There have been beautiful weddings, anniversaries, family reunions, Quinceañeras, birth reveals and graduations, as well as concerts and dance classes! They are always beautiful and safe in this location. I must add the carpets have been removed so there are now gorgeous floors great for dancing, and easy to manipulate tables and decorations. There's also a stage outback that has just received it Summer coat of paint and a lovely grassy backyard where children can play picnic tables set up for barbecues. I recently went to the Sebastopol Subud Hall to attend a show by Jaya Lakshmi & Ananda w/ the Saraswati Dream Band. The venue holds about 100 people & there isn't really a bad seat in the venue. I decided to opt for a front row seat & was able to sit on the floor on a cushion right by the stage. I love attending shows at smaller venues that add to a more intimate experience as opposed to bigger arena shows. The evening started w/ an evening raga by Ankush Vimawala on tabla & Will Marsh on sitar. I have been a fan of Jaya Lakshmi for a long time now & this was my first time seeing her live. She & Ananda complimented each other very well. The whole performance lasted three hours & was a great experience. The venue is a short drive from Amy's Drive Thru & would be a good dinner option to go to prior to a show here. read more

I had the pleasure of attending a Sirens Studio event at the Subud Hall over the weekend. It was a dance performance show called "Beaucoup De Bellies Spring Fling". The event was very well put together and the dancers were all skill levels and types of dance (many were Belly Dancing) Fun! This venue is perfect for an intimate event. The stage is big enough for a play, or large band, yet small enough to use as a podium for meetings, Weddings, and memorials. The sound is great - I could tell the room is built specifically for amplified sound. The floor was filled with chairs, a few venders, fundraisers, and a good & beverage table. Although I could see the potential to be set up however a person or group might chose to set it up. I have no idea how much the fee is to rent the hall. I can say from my experience as someone that attended an event there, it is a well taken care of building with a nice parking lot, kitchen, bathrooms, and plenty of other amenities you might need to hold an event there. I just can't stop thinking how fun it would be to rent for a private celebration! And I absolutely plan to return when the Sirens Studio holds future events here. read more

We held our 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration here in February. After visiting many venues we chose the Subud Hall for a "sit down"dinner for 100 people with music and dancing. The overall atmosphere of the hall is very welcoming. The staff were very helpful, our caterers really liked the kitchen facilities, sound and lighting for dancing on the stage was excellent. I would use this venue again for another event. read more

This hall is near the center of Sebastopol, but off a quiet street, Hutchins Avenue, 2 blocks south of the McDonald's shopping center. It is very competitively priced, and has new carpet in the main room (1500 sf with a 500 sf raised stage). It has a piano available, lighting, and a new sound system. Great for birthdays, concerts, performances, or parties. A nice new venue, newly remodeled! There are also offices for rent, ideal for a therapist or massage practicitoner. read more

This hall is a truly great place for a gathering or event. I attended a Birthday celebration here, and it was so convenient, clean, well organized with ample rooms and the best layout, including the beautiful kitchen and outdoor space. The stage is a fine addition as well for speakers or musicians. I liked that the rooms were spacious and can easily be decorated to look very beautiful. A truly incredible find, and the location is great as well, close to everything that's available, hotels, restaurants, shopping in the quaint town of Sebastopol, which includes a bucolic countryside. These people are totally inconsiderate! We live one lot next door and these folks totally DO NOT CARE that they are in a residential area. They beat drums and play loud music, hoot and holler till VERY late at night EVEN on weeknights. They park their cars all up and down our very narrow street. They have no care at all if anyone down the street needs perhaps a fire truck or ambulance since they block the street to the point where emergency vehicles would never be able to pass through. I have walked to my mailbox on the morning after one of the events only to find booze bottles all smashed and broken right in front of said mailbox. I have even had to replace TWO mailboxes due to the fact that folks have parked next to them and smashed them with their car doors while trying to get of their cars. In fact I replaced ONE box and then had to replace it again two weeks later! These are the WORST neighbors I could ever hope to have and I am not the only one who feels this way. Many of our neighbors complain about the noise and the cars and I know one elderly woman across the street from them who is afraid to even say anything because she is terrified of repercussions. She seems to be afraid of what they might do to her and to her home if she complains. We had one fellow who drove down our driveway and parked right on our property, got out and walked away to the subud center and would not answer to any of our questions like "who are you and why did you park in our yard." We had to go TO the subud center to let them know a car was going get towed if it was not removed! When ever we call them to ask for them to lower the noise they simply say that they are an event venue. I really do not care what they claim to be! I am a resident and I have rights too! It amazes me how many people who comment here on Yelp claim that it's a nice quiet location. SURE it's quiet for YOU but NOT so much for us. Yes, we do have a quiet little street here but not when the venue has an event going on. They are usually VERY noisy and and they often cause quite a large disturbance for the people who live here. Please, please, if you have ANY consideration at all for other people do NOT rent this venue. We are desperate for some peace and quiet, and we do not know where else to turn! read more

I used to rent this hall for rehearsals. I've also attended a number of shows and Love Choir events here. It's a very nice hall with full facilities and parking. I consider it my go-to venue. It's a great deal and the staff is most helpful. Highly recommended. read more

The Sebastopol Subud Hall is beautiful inside and a tucked away quiet location for events. It has new carpet, paint, windows and an awesome stage with Bose sound and colorful lighting. I have found that trying to deal with the proprietors of this venue a hassle. We live next door and are constantly being inundated with noise. 10 am every day there is the Woomp Woomp Woomp of there zumba class. If these people cared about there neighbors they might build a sound barrier. read more

Our niece graduated from Sonoma State recently and the family held a party here in her honor. We found it easily, coming from Sacramento, there was plenty of on site parking and the venue itself was excellent. It has been completely redone inside, has a complete kitchen and a pleasant backyard. It also has a lovely, large stage. I can recommend this site to anyone seeking a venue for a party, event, wedding etc. It is large, very nice inside and quite beautiful. read more
