One of the acts performing onstage at Subud Hall during the Sirens Studio event there on April 23, 2017

I had the pleasure of attending a Sirens Studio event at the Subud Hall over the weekend. It was a dance performance show called "Beaucoup De Bellies Spring Fling". The event was very well put together and the dancers were all skill levels and types of dance (many were Belly Dancing) Fun! This venue is perfect for an intimate event. The stage is big enough for a play, or large band, yet small enough to use as a podium for meetings, Weddings, and memorials. The sound is great - I could tell the room is built specifically for amplified sound. The floor was filled with chairs, a few venders, fundraisers, and a good & beverage table. Although I could see the potential to be set up however a person or group might chose to set it up. I have no idea how much the fee is to rent the hall. I can say from my experience as someone that attended an event there, it is a well taken care of building with a nice parking lot, kitchen, bathrooms, and plenty of other amenities you might need to hold an event there. I just can't stop thinking how fun it would be to rent for a private celebration! And I absolutely plan to return when the Sirens Studio holds future events here.

In a bit of a panic, we found The Wild Orchid while frantically Googling at the crack of dawn and we're so grateful we did. Jane responded almost immediately, even on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and within just a couple of hours we had arranged to courier our flowers to her. Her responsiveness, kindness, and professionalism during such a hectic moment meant so much to us. The final pressed arrangement was finished right on time and absolutely exceeded our expectations. It is stunning--such a beautiful, tangible way to hold onto such a special day. We couldn't be happier with the result, and we wouldn't hesitate for a second to work with Jane again for any future special events. Highly, highly recommend!

I could not be happier! I love that she also posts about the process on Facebook so I got to see my flowers be taken apart and learn about the color correcting process. I do feel everything was well worth the cost and I would do it again!

I've seen a number of his works before at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, but several of the pieces on display today were new to me--such a treat to experience different works up close. The gift shop is small yet thoughtfully curated, featuring items inspired by the current exhibit along with creations by talented local artisans. Admission is very reasonable, and students receive discounted entry at just $10. Donations are also warmly welcomed and help support this wonderful community art space.

In addition to the small gallery of (mostly local) artists, they also had some art pieces for sale. I was impressed by the quality of the work and fell in love with several pieces on display. Most of the pieces were also for sale, though nothing I would consider inexpensive. It's art, so you'll have to decide how much you like something and if you want to purchase it. It also seems like non-local artists could display work here if they were a member of the center. Maybe I should look into it! Really nice place to stop for an hour or two. Highly recommend it.
