I surrendered 3 puppies to this place paid for all their shots 3 sets of them Through west coast vet! I gave second chance 3 months of food because my girlfriend and I are nurses and time wise we couldn't take care of all 3 of them together and wags wouldn't take care of 3 puppies they would only do 1 due to covid. I spoke with Norma about my situation and wanting assistance in fostering. My girlfriend and I didn't want to separate siblings until they were older. Norma and Sarah were initially kind and shared that I could come back and take them if I changed my mind. Less than a week later we figured out a way to have assistance in raising them in our home. When I called Sarah and told her that my girlfriend has been crying the past week and figured out a way for assistance. Her response was I can fill out an application but she doubts I would be approved due to us being nurses!!! She used my own words against me. Now that covid is slowing down San Diego is opening back up and this company is treating 2 front line ER nurses like this! Also when you go on their page the "application fee"'and adoption fee is for their vet and "medical" expenses that my girlfriend and I paid for already! I am so hurt and just disgusted at the way this place handles business and switches their words around. Untrustworthy is an understatement. If you are looking to adopt these 3, their names are Rosie, Lucia, and Giada. This place makes a profit since their medical expenses were paid for prior. THEY ARE LIARS!!!! These are photos of them with us!! We are Heart broken as we were just asking for help!!!! Karma I believe in it! If we treated our patients the way Sarah treated us we would be fired!!!!

We got our little Elliott from Second Chance Rescue. For us the process was quite fast. Elliott's foster mom and dad were amazing. They answered all of our questions and concerns.

Baker- approx 9mo? Pup avail for adoption!

Second Chance deserves a Presidential Medal way more than Rush Limbaugh! What the heck?! I can't believe the wonderful generous service they provide here for dogs and humans alike. I received the email on Foster Friday and couldn't say no to this cutie- Baker- he's available for adoption -PM me if interested. About him: a total love bug, lap dog! He loves snuggling on the sofa or a park bench, tummy rubs, going for walks, and playing tug of war. If I didn't already have a puppy, I would keep him for sure! He's actually a better personality than our own pup, ha! He's not too clingy, and just the right mix of calm and playful. He gets excited for visitors and meeting other dogs but is super mellow on walks, he doesn't pull and stays right with you. He is almost potty trained and has never had an accident on the furniture. He is crate trained but would much rather sleep with you. He's very food motivated and will be easily trainable. He gets along with cats (mostly ignores them) and other dogs very well.

Adopted our dog here in 2020. The process was easy. We went to the foster parents house and got to meet the dog before deciding.

Fanila (I hope I'm spelling that correctly!), Elizabeth and the entire team were incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make my kids feel comfortable and special, taking the time to let them safely see and interact with the guinea pig, hamster, chinchilla, bunny, and even a chicken. You could tell how much they genuinely care -- not just about the animals, but about the people who walk through their doors. Thank you Magnifico, Daddy Hamster, Chichi, Chili, Dave and Grace Omali In a time where we really needed a little lightness, this meant more than I can fully express. We decided to rescue her a few days before Hope2K9 had an open spot to start her training. When we brought Freyja home from the rescue we learned that she was part shark and part sled dog. On our first walk she was trying to pull us up the street with the force of an entire team of sled dogs. When we got home from the walk we gave her a "indestructible dog toy" which she managed to destroy within 5 minutes. At this point we were nervous about the potential challenges we were going to be facing with training. During the 3 week training process Cam kept us updated on our pups progress. The second night we received a short video of Cam walking a well behaved Freyja. The 2 in person training sessions were well organized and covered all the commands and how to leverage the training tools used to train our pup. The experience did not end with the 3 week training because Hope2K9 has been there to answer our questions.

Our very first experience with them happened during a tough time--COVID, and it was only our second Christmas in San Diego after moving from Hawaii. Being away from home during the holidays was hard, but their team created a drive-through Christmas event that brought so much joy to our family. The volunteers were amazing, and you could feel how much heart they put into making the season special for everyone. My children were given toys and my pet was given treats and a toy. They also gave a free fresh Christmas tree. I cried in appreciation for several days everytime I walked out into our living room and saw the Christmas tree. It brought a bit of normalcy during COVID. Since then, we've participated in several of their holiday and pet-friendly events, and each one just keeps getting bigger and better. Their annual Unleash the Holiday Cheer celebration is one of the best community events in San Diego. They offer so many FREE activities and giveaways for military/veterans including (from the flyer 2025): * A free concert * Crafts and professional Santa photos * Gifts from Santa for the kids ** A Pet Costume Runway Show with big prizes ** - we haven't participated in this but I always look forward to what they participants come up with * Story time with the Candylane Princess * Face painting * Carnival games * A "Puppacino Station" for the pups * Foam party, bubble artist & even a Swifites station * FREE Kong pet toys * FREE vet care vouchers for all attendees - We benefited from this last year. The garbage disposal broke in our home and we couldn't wash dishes. At the same time one of our dogs needed a blood test and procedure done on them. I'm so grateful for the vet care voucher. * 1000+ unwrapped Christmas gifts donated to Active Duty Military & Veterans **This year civilians were able attend for free.** It's community effort, and it shows. The vendors are awesome, the volunteers are friendly, and the atmosphere is always warm and festive. Traci's Paws goes above and beyond to support pets, families, and military communities in San Diego. If you haven't been to one of their events before, check out their Facebook, Instagram page and website- you'll be amazed at how much they offer. This organization has become a part of our family's holiday tradition, and we appreciate them so much. If you looking for an organization to donate or volunteer please consider Traci's Paws.

Along the way, I worked with two other trainers and invested a significant amount of money, but left feeling disappointed--they didn't seem in tune with my dog or able to properly gauge her needs. After taking a break from trainers, I reached out to SchaferhundK9, and from my very first conversation with Aolanis, I felt a completely different level of understanding and approach. We just had our first lesson, and I am absolutely blown away by the results. From the moment we stepped out, it was clear that she was evaluating my dog individually and tailoring her methods to what my dog needed, rather than applying the same cookie-cutter patterns I had experienced before. In just one short lesson, my dog went from barking, hackles raised, spinning, and pulling--to calmly lying on her bed, relaxed with her feet kicked out, happily chewing her ball. The transformation was incredible. If you've had disappointing experiences with trainers in the past or feel like your dog isn't trainable to the level you want, do yourself the biggest favor as a dog owner and schedule a lesson with Aolanis. I am beyond grateful that I gave one more trainer a chance--because she will be the last trainer I ever need. I truly can't wait for our next session!
