Our rescue pup from ARWOB! Biggest sweetheart.
Renee R.

We loved our experience with ARWOB! We met them at an adoption event & from the get go everyone was so kind & helpful. We felt supported & informed all throughout. We found our amazing pup through them & they made the entire process so easy. I'm so thankful for the work that they do & that it led us to bring home our amazing dog who brings us so much joy :)

Terrible TERRIBLE. There's pups who need to be adopted and the lady, ALONDRA, who i believe runs this organization is very condescending, rude and egotistical. She called me to follow up for adopting a pup. I was asked many reasonable question which was expected. But when I'd answer, she would cut me off almost every single time. I don't even think she realizes herself how rude it is to cut people off after asking them a question. But whatever, I let it slide. The conversation ended after she told me she'd send me the location of where the adoption site would be for the following weekend. After the conversation ended i had a screenshot of two puppies i was interested in meeting from Petfinder. She told me they were brother and sister. but both puppies profiles had different descriptions such as breed and age. So i just wanted to clarify with her which one was correct. She sent me the link to the ARWOB website. (Which also shows the profiles to not be cohesive.) and then her response was just extra, unnecessary and rude and sarcastic. One comment she sarcastically made was asking if i got my dog DNA tested to know her breed. Didn't even address my main concern, which was simply the clarification of the differences in profiles. I tried to follow up again to get the location of the adoption site and she ignored me. It sucks because there's dogs to be adopted but she is not a kind or easy human to do business through. Would never recommend this organization to anyone because of her and only her.

We went to the Halloween Mega Adoption event. We started out at 10a watching the event set up. We spent the day visiting 15+ rescues and adoption booths. After 4 hours of visiting and checking out animals, we went back to ARWOBSD as we had set our heart on a puppy. We stayed at the event and filled out an application. We were immediately called back. They provided what was needed (video and LL permission). We spent the next few days working through the requirements. We were told on the last day they would be going to another family, we stated we understood but still wanted to adopt. We were then asked if we were available the next day for a pick up, we immediately said yes. We arrived the next day at the arranged time and location, to be told the puppy had been adopted out to another family. ALL communications had been through text and phone call. They stated, we sent you an email last night. After 20+ text and phone calls, why would we be on the lookout for a random email? As you see in the picture from the adoption agency, she asked if we could pick up(614p), we immediately responded yes(614p). We were asked about time and location. Why would you propose a time and date if you were going with another family? Besides the heartbreak, we are out time, money, all because of bad communication. We as a family have lost trust in this organization.

I adopted a bonded pair of 2 year old kitties over the summer and I was impressed with the efforts this group did to make sure myself and my home we're safe to adopt, but also the care they took for the cats before I took them home. They were rescued from a high kill shelter and they took care of their vet bills to get them healthy enough to adopt, and continually after adopting them they check in on them. These kitties are wonderful and I'm so glad to have them part of our family! They are so friendly and cuddly and you'd have no idea what theyve been through. Thanks Alondra and team! And thank you Lauren for fostering them!

I adopted three dogs from this rescue. They have all been wonderful pets, the process of adopting is easy and they do make sure the dogs go to a good home The animals come spayed/neutered and up to date with vaccines.

We adopted our newest feline family member last October. Allie is a smart, sweet kitty that loves to sit on our laps and sleep with us. She loves to do tricks in exchange for a cat treat. On the ARWOB website, I was able to see lots of pictures and videos of Allie. I filled out the detailed application online, then went to meet her at her foster's house. It was love at first sight and she came home to live with us a short time later. ARWOB wants only the best for the animals in their care, so they investigate potential adopters thoroughly. I wouldn't hesitate to adopt another dog or cat from this group. They made sure all was well after adoption also with check-ins via email.

Hello Friends! This is the best rescue. I support what they do 100%. I am grateful for them saving thousands of homeless dogs and cats. They rescued a box of abandoned puppies in our little town of Alpine a few months ago. Someone left them on the side of the road. They have the best fosters that work with the animals.

Very professional dogs come first as it should be. Great experience. Felt they did through check.

Kitten

We recently adopted a kitty from ARWOB. You can really tell they care deeply about their animals. Our kitten was about 5 months old when we adopted her and she was vaccinated & spayed. Their website pictures and description were very accurate in terms of her personality. She is the sweetest, healthiest little cat and we love her so much! She loves to play with us and cuddle with us and is extremely inquisitive. She just had her first vet visit since adoption and the vet was very happy with how healthy she is. ARWOB takes a lot of care in the entire adoption process, and they're very friendly and helpful in guiding you on how to best care for your new family member, which we really appreciated since we are first time cat parents. 10/10 highly recommend!

Our adopted Collie is now best friends with our poodle.

We had such a wonderful experience with ARWB, we were able to adopt a 3-year-old Collie that has become a part of our family. Alondra, Mary, and the volunteers were very helpful throughout the entire adoption process. We wanted to make sure that it would be a good fit with our first pet so they offered the option of fostering first. We knew that introducing a new dog to our home would present some challenges but the folks at ARWB were very helpful in responding to emails and texts to help us out with the challenges that arose during those first few weeks. In addition, they provided us with a free online training service that helped us in training and acclimating the dog into our home. Three months later our adopted dog Oreo is happy and doing well, he loves playing with our first pet regularly. I appreciate all the work that ARWB does to make sure that they are finding the perfect stable homes for these animals so that they don't end up back in shelters. I would recommend ARWB for anyone looking to foster or adopt an animal.

She's finally adopted!

Their impact is huge, and there are countless ways to help -- no contribution is too big or too small. One thing I deeply appreciate is their Adoption Guarantee: If for any reason an adopter decides their new pet isn't the right fit for their home, the Humane Society will schedule an appointment to welcome the pet back -- without judgment or criticism. This level of compassion and support is rare and shows how committed they are to both animals and adopters. Some meaningful ways to get involved include: Donating money Volunteering Participating in the Dog Day Out program Supporting the Community Cat Program Fostering Adopting instead of shopping Spaying/neutering your pets Sharing or reposting their information to spread awareness The San Diego campus is next‑level -- very clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Across the county, they have four campuses: San Diego, Escondido, El Cajon, and Oceanside (Escondido has a great setup for livestock and farm animals). Every staff member I've interacted with has been compassionate and patient. They deal with animals in distress every single day, so a little grace goes a long way.

Then I asked for a supervisor because she was just so rude. I asked for her name and she told me her name was Jessica, then later I found out she lied and her name was actually Lauren. When I later asked her why she said her name was Jessica when her name was really Lauren, she said it's her middle name and she goes by it some times. Yet no one there ever knew her name was Jessica. Anyway, rough experience today. I just hope they don't treat everyone this way because no one will adopted :(

We got to meet a lot of adorable dogs, and one little guy instantly stole our hearts. What really stood out was how thoughtful and thorough TAP's process is. There was no pressure to adopt on the spot, which we really appreciated. After the event, we completed an application and received clear next steps. The following week, our foster brought him to our home so we could spend more time together. That confirmed everything we felt at the event. TAP conducted a home visit and checked our references, and it was clear throughout the process that they truly care about the well being of their animals and making the right match. Our foster was amazing, so kind and supportive. When we brought our little guy home, she sent him with his toys, some food, and a sweet note, which meant so much to us. Such a wonderful experience overall, and now our home is filled with love, laughter, and lots of snuggles.

I will sing their praises to anyone who listens! I adopted the very sweetest baby girl-formerly…read moreMadonna, now Bree- three weeks ago. It was love at first sight!!! Where do I start with the excellent care and customer service?! One of the many things I loved is that most of the dogs in their care are in foster homes. So there is so much time, training and attention to each pup that you simply can't get with a shelter. Breezy was mostly potty trained, had time around other dogs to learn how to behave, and so much was known about her behaviors and care. I just adored her amazing foster Mommy, Alex! She let us come to her home and spend an hour meeting both puppies (it was originally between her and her brother, Elvis, who is also a doll!!! Someone PLEASE scoop up that cutie!). I came with a list of questions and she answered every last one in detail and was so patient. I'm forever grateful for the wonderful love and care Alex put into my beautiful girl before I got her. From the application process to the actual adoption it was roughly a week and a half. I was surprised at how fast they were able to move and pleasantly so. I was contacted via email and text at all different parts of the adoption process by various volunteers- Joelle, Deborah, Jen, Alex and Breana are a few of the wonderful women I spoke to, but there was so many more involved. Each and every individual was knowledgeable on Breezy's care and her life before The Animal Pad. However short lived that was. Bree came spayed, had her first round of shots and was even microchipped! Which was a huge selling point for me. You know how expensive those all are out of pocket?!! It's worth every last penny of the $500+ I paid to know she was well cared for before I got her! She's the most loving and easy baby I've ever had! They even came and picked up the old things I had from my former soul baby, Adonis. It was heartbreaking to let the last reminders of him go. But I met some of the kindest humans in the process- Jen and her hubby. With an empathetic ear and even a hug I was left with a sense of comfort in that difficult moment. Knowing Adonis's things will go to good use is far more valuable than any monetary value I may have gotten for any of it. They were happily surprised at all that I was sending and came to me to scoop it all up! The Animal Pad is a rescue full of animal people who do this because it nourishes the soul! Not for profit! They do not discriminate if you live in an apartment, have had a bad experience where you have to return a former adoptee, are actively planning a family or any other reason that I'd been denied from two other rescues. I'd begun to lose hope in finding a new baby to love, until Animal Pad. Now I have the very best fit and I see clearly I simply wasn't meant to have any other puppers aside from Bree! We were meant for each other and she is deeply adored!! THANK YOU to everyone at The Animal Pad!!! You are one of the good ones and I'll continue to sing your praises to all that'll listen! I'm forever grateful to each and every one of you!
