It is open on 4/4/26. Taiwanese street food is authentic. The fried items and shaved ice are delicious. Prices are not bad. Good service. I don't usually write reviews for a supermarket, but I had to after my last visit. Flashback to a month ago where my mom had sent me out to buy a few veggies for dinner. I got some tomatoes, spring onions, and some watercress. It shouldn't be more than $10. When I went to go ring it up it came out to $15. I looked at the receipt and saw that there was a nesquick strawberry something on the receipt. I told the lady at the register that somethings wrong and she told me that everything was right. I then switched to chinese and told her there's nothing "strawberry" that i bought and showed her that she entered the watercress wrong. She called over a supervisor and the supervisor fixed everything and returned 8 bucks back to my account. Now the second visit, my mom was with me this time but she does what all mom does and leaves me at the register while she goes find something last minute. I noticed it's the same lady as last time so I watched every item gets scanned. Then she picks up a tiny kabocha pumpkin, enters the number, and the boom japanese cucumber shows up at $8. I asked her, hey, that's not a cucumber and she says no that's right! I was confused... did my mom really want a $8 kabocha? My mom came back at the right time and I yelled out, "HEY, HOW MUCH WAS THE PUMPKIN?!" She says it should be around $3. I look at the lady and asked her to check again and she was persistent and says that's correct. The supervisor was clocking out and I turned to her real quick to ask her what this was. The supervisor read out the item code real quick and it turns out the cashier got it wrong. The cashier then turns around with an attitude and says is that it? I was so furious that not only she didn't own up to it but she also made it seem like it was our fault for pointing out the mistake. So rude, will not be shopping here next time. read more

This place is not closed. I come here at least one time a week after work to get their popcorn chicken. I love it. Great popcorn chicken. You can also add other stuff like hashbrowns, meat balls, sweet potatoe fries, regular fries and more. However, that area is closed on Tuesdays and arent open early so just a heads up. The guy is also super nice and friendly and you could tell he's a hard worker. The market itself is your average asian supermarket with some hispanic sections as well. I've only been to the snack isle and not fully explored the place. There's also a little dining area next to the food where you could sit and enjoy your meal. Prices are also not that bad. read more

This supermarket has issues with honest business practices. The prices labeled on the shelves do not match the prices charged at checkout. This is clearly a dishonest form of theft. What's even more bizarre is that when you go back to point out the discrepancy, a lady who claims to be the manager, supervisor, and owner all in one insists that she personally placed the price tags, so there is no problem. The In n Out burgers down the street from here is one of our regular pit stops on our way home and the Pizza Co, right next door, is another one. One evening, my wife texted that we were out of eggs. Rather than go to Walmart or Staters by the house, I made a quick pit stop here. Omg. This place is about as authentic as it gets for an Asian market. There's so much fresh fish that you might as well be in an aquarium. It smells of one, too. But that is just the surface. There's more Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese food and vegetables that you could get lost trying to figure everything out. There's also a smattering of Mexican food, so it truly is an international marketplace. There's meat for barbecuing, roasting and to my surprise, for Shabu Shabu. It's divey, to be sure. But on the one occasion I was being brave, I got all the ingredients to make shabu shabu at home, including a shabu shabu pot! I had absolutely no idea what I needed. I asked one of the produce guys and he said, "bro, I don't even know what that is, but wait a sec..." He came back with whom I assume was the owner. She stepped me through what soup base to buy, dipping sauce, veggies and of course meats. With veggies costing between $1.50 to $3.00 (Napa cabbage, baby bok choi, organic spinach, and brown mushrooms), tofu for $1.89, ramen and udon noodles for $4.99/each, soup base for $3.89, dipping sauce for $3.89, and thinly sliced rib eye and short ribs for $10.00/each, this was a relatively inexpensive and healthy meal. My sister who's a vegetarian, would eat this shabu shabu without meat. Even my bro, who's vegan would eat it. The portions we got were enough for at least 3 different meals, so this is a good value. I used a portable butane single burner camp stove to keep the soup base hot in the pot (it's called a hot pot dish, after all...) and added the veggies, tofu, meat and noodles (at the end) and it was just as good as going out to shabu shabu. It was fun and different and my kids loved it. We also used this butane burner with a grill top for Korean BBQ with meat and veggies we got from Zion Korean Market in Fullerton, so there really was no extra expense for using it for shabu shabu. (BTW, I got it on sale for $14.00 from Big 5). Our only regret is that we didn't get more veggies. Sure, this market might not be for everyone as it has food that may be unfamiliar for most. But for those willing to explore and have some fun, it's a pit stop worth making. Just be sure to take your time and ask questions. You might end up with a better answer than you expected. read more

After spending a beautiful day in Huntington Beach and rinsing off all the beach sand, salt, quicksilver, billabong, and volcom, I suddenly felt the urge to eat popcorn chicken and drink boba to rediscover my Asian identity #iykyk. There is no better place for popcorn chicken and authentic fried to order snacks than the Taiwanese street food stall in Secoya Market. Even the signs have the authentic red lettering with the yellow background like the night markets in Taiwan. For me, popcorn chicken tastes even better when mixed with fried fish cake, calamari, and Taiwanese sausage. It's hard to get bored with all the variety of flavors and textures, perfectly fried and seasoned. The more the merrier. The 4 stars are for the food stall, but I hope the market itself does well. Secoya Market is an interesting mix between an Asian and Hispanic market, reflecting the demographics of the neighborhood, but also trying to attract Asian customers from the western end of Hacienda Heights. Most Asian markets in this part of the SGV are east of Azusa Avenue. I'm not sure how successful this strategy is, but they should consider moving upscale like H-Mart in Arcadia. Every time I go into the Arcadia H-Mart, 70% of the customers are in the produce section. More affluent customers really do care about the quality of produce and meat, and there is no benefit to a race to the bottom. Ok I should feel embarrassed talking about an industry I have no experience in, but I feel for the lonely Taiwanese street food stall in the middle of nowhere. Terrible customer service and attitude at meat section. The butcher cut the rib meat too thick on purpose due to laziness. He showed me the 1st piece, which was thin, and then cut the rest thick. The kalbi beef is supposed to be thin. He is either a lazy butcher or incompetent. He put the meat in dark plastic bag, 3 bags so you can't see it until you get home. Well I went back and he was on his break and dispute his manager going to get him, continues on his break and returns 10 minutes later. He ignores me and went on to cut the pieces into two pieces, tosses the bag on the counter and mutters Chingada... Safe to say I won't be back!! read more

Went today Sunday for the advertisement of a box of yellow golden dragon fruit six per box for 1599 sale starts 31 July through 6 August . The cashier Andy told me they didn't have any they checked in the back and those were pre-orders and it was a slip by the cash register with 38 pre orders of different people and they only had 23 in the back . Andy the cashier told me to come back Wednesday when there's more fruit I asked him to sell me one box. They refused to sell me a box . They said they were set aside for some other customers . The manger only gave me 30 sec of her time told me to come back next week after the sale was over before walking away . I was like what the heck !!! Horrible customer service . Nothing on the flyer said anything about pre-orders. I use to like coming here but if they are going to be shady and not treat customers with respect. I'll take my business else where read more

I primarily shop here for convenience, but the prices are really affordable and I can check off most items on my grocery list here. They sell some Asian groceries, which is a definite plus because it sometimes saves me a trip further to an Asian supermarket. The produce section is the best thing here. It's already cheap, but sometimes they have ridiculous sales for produce, like several pounds of something for less than $1/lb. The quality of their produce is decent. They always last me at least a week after purchase, which I like. Meat quality here is decent as well, but I usually end up freezing my meats anyway. It's not the cleanest or nicest supermarket around, but it gets the job done and the prices for their produce can't be beat. read more

You can't miss it coming from Gale Ave. You can turn into any section of the parking lot, even behind the AutoZone, and still get to Fresco. The thing I love about Fresco is their prices. Since I eat more fruit than I drink water, I buy more fruit than I do their other produce items. I bought 2 grapefruits, each the size of double Ds, for 54 cents !!? A 1.96 lb of red seedless grapes for 97 cents.. 10-lb bag of potatoes for $1.99. Vons, try to beat that! The thing I don't like, unfortunately, is the ambiance, if you will.
