Stopped by on Saturday, 05/23/26 after getting a haircut with my mom. This supermarket has a lot of great deals! We bought grapes and cherries which were $0.99 per pound! Additionally, we bought a bunch of the Chinese guava candies which are really hard to find nowadays ($2.99 each, good deal!). Overall, a great place to try out some Asian desserts, produces, snacks, etc. Located in a plaza and next to Haven City market. read more

This is not the largest GW Supermarket but it is average size and you will most likely find what you need at the store the aisles are a little bit on the narrow side but they're trying to pack as much as they can in the supermarket the parking lot is very difficult because so many stores share the parking lot and it's typical Asian designed parking lot trying to squeeze the maximum number of tiny spaces with the minimum standard but I digress there is a really really awesome super ginormous food Hall attached to the supermarket that is definitely worth checking out the prices are someone reasonable and everyone will find something that they want to eat and it's super clean and super stylish definitely a destination food place to go read more

Huge and well-organized market specializing in Asian food and general merchandise. The store offers a wide selection of fresh seafood, meats, fruits, vegetables, and everything else under the sun. Conveniently located inside the Haven City food court, there are two entrances to enter this market. This GW Supermarket was plaza can get easily congested coming in and out the parking lot. Huge! It connects to the Haven City Market food hall and aisles are quite spacious for a comfortable grocery shopping experience. They have pretty much everything you need at a Chinese grocery store or even more. I never even heard of or seen some of the food brand names they have here. Looking good though. They carry more stuff than a 99 Ranch Market. Best of all, there were many marked down daily deals on shelves. Fully stocked. Cashiers do talk if you talk to them or ask questions. Typical grocery store. I like that foodies can walk around outside to find good restaurants nearby or stop by Haven City Market which is one of the largest food halls in the area. Convenient. Public restrooms are available. Store looks very clean. Sauces and hot pot soup base were especially cheap in prices. They're really fully stocked here. Not bad at all. read more

I thought I had already written a review for this GW Supermarket located next to Haven City Market in West Covina. No photos since I thought I had already posted photos... I'll catch them next time. Anyway, here goes my review... I came here with my Mom on Christmas Day 2025. Yes, they were open. My Mom got some yellow onions, fuji apples, and dried red dates. I wasn't planning to buy anything, but I love my durian. They were on sale for $1.98 per lb. I couldn't resist, but to buy 6 frozen durians to give to my Mom, my brothers, cousin family, and moi for Christmas. I was lucky to have hit the jackpot with a great batch of amazing tasting durians. OMG, they were so sweet, smooth, and custardy! SO GOOD! I wished I bought more. This GW was clean and bright. Shelves were well stocked and organized. It has a wide selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, seafoods, and so much more. It's not the largest GW compared to other GW I have visited elsewhere, but still a decent size. Prices were fairly reasonable. Employees seem friendly. Service was good. It's a great place to shop before or after a delicious meal at Haven City Market. I'll sure to be back for more durian. read more

GW Supermarket is located in the same plaza with Haven City. You can walk into the grocery store from inside the food hall. Plenty of parking in the parking lot out front, but can get tricky during peak lunch hours. They have a great selection of seafood, meat, vegetables, snacks that you'd expect for an Asian grocery market. My favorite read seeing the exotic produce, including banana flowers, fresh tumeric, and ngo om (a tangy, edible vegetable). I also got a small Napa cabbage here for around $1 per pound. The candies and drinks section is very exciting. I got a great canned grass jelly drink for $1.85 and the peelable banana candy for around $4. I didn't interact much to get a deep sense of the service besides during check-out, which was seamless. Overall, I think this is a great place to get groceries and a unique snack. read more

In the past few months, I have been to Local Coffee Roasters and Haven City but had not shopped at GW Supermarket until last week. This (formerly) HK2 plaza has gone through so much change in the past 10+ years that I did not recognize it initially when I stopped by a few months ago to try Local Coffee. GW Supermarket is convenient if one is in the area grabbing a meal or a drink. The prices are a bit higher than 99 Ranch or H Mart but it is due to convenience. I only needed to grab an item (沙茶酱 or Shacha Sauce) or two since we were considering hot pot for the new year in a few days. It was late afternoon and the lines to checkout were so long... about 4 registers open. I think it took me about 8+ minutes of waiting to purchase 1 item. At least there were the new 2026 Chinese Yellow Pages outside the store so I grabbed one on the way to my car. GW Supermarket would not be my go to, especially for the prices and the long lines, but it is convenient if I need to grab something if I am in the area, i.e. Haven City. (After stopping by 99 Ranch yesterday, the 沙茶酱 was wayyyy cheaper at 99 at regular price. Even with the "discount" at GW, it was still a dollar more expensive than 99 Ranch.) There is usually plenty of parking. Yes, sometimes the lot may be full near the GW Supermarket and Haven City entrances but there is usually a parking spot somewhere in the plaza. read more

This is a treasure chest of flavor with every aisle an adventure. It is a vibrant and lively market. Exotic fruits here, bold chip flavors there - this just proves potato chips can be more exciting than you average salt flavor because what!?! wasabi and kimchi chips exist! Came here just for the lychee and ended up in every aisle, planning my next trip back where I can have my complete ingredient list for hot pot night? ramen night? Lo mein, oh my night! The amount of fresh ingredients, frozen ingredients, ingredients I could not even read, the magic is real here! This just became my Disneyland, less kids, more food, win win. The ultimate playground for snacks and conveniently connected to the new Haven City Market. Lines were busy but moving fast. Worth a visit despite the struggle of parking. read more

Market looked clean and well sorted. Found what I was looking for it being my first time. The reason for the 2 starts is because the cashiers are rude and don't speak at all, and/ or speak English. I felt, because I wasn't their kind that they didn't need to speak, I believe if you are going to live here and work where you are going to interact with people, you would speak the language and be hospitable. I wouldn't come this market, business hrs show 9am and the door open at 0856hrs when you come in the worker there will knick you out and said open at 9am . This is ridiculous and very bad service . I had a very upsetting experience at this store. After paying for groceries, we walked next door to buy food. My 12-year-old son briefly greeted a friend and was walking back to me when a security guard suddenly stopped him and demanded a receipt. My son told the guard I was in the front paying, but the guard ignored him and spoke to him in a harsh, accusatory tone. My son has autism and became frightened and confused. When I arrived and showed proof of purchase on Apple Pay, the guard still refused to accept it and insisted on a paper receipt only. The manager defended the guard and offered no apology, even though the incident clearly caused distress. Only another employee--not the guard or manager--apologized. My son cried afterward. No child, especially one with special needs, should be treated this way. I am sharing this so families are aware and so businesses can treat children and individuals with special needs with more respect and sensitivity. read more

Absolutely would not commend purchasing perishable food here, such as meat or veggie. I brought two packs of chicken thighs from here on a Saturday, and tried cooking it the next day. It was spoiled when I opened the packaging. Veggie is not fresh. read more

This is literally the closest Asian supermarket to home. I shop here for Chinese groceries once every few months including Jasmine rice, noodles, soy sauce, Japanese pumpkin, Yam, silk chicken, frozen wheat buns from Taiwan. The store is clean and well-organized and the service is great! There is a very nice female cashier working in the store and a nice customer service rep who is always helpful. It's better to come during the weekdays as parking could be hard to find on weekends. read more
