I left w half the snack aisle, a suspicious amount of beef jerky, and tea that probably makes you live forever. This 168 Market in RH isn't just a grocery store.... it's a snack trap disguised as a produce paradise. Fresh fruit? Check!!! Top-tier protein? Yuuuup!!! But then....bam!!!!! FREE samples!! They just kept givong me free samples, and i couldn't say no!! Came in to buy some buldak noodles and snacks for my kiddos and came out with more than just that! Lol. They had a bunch of sales that I couldn't resist and pass up. Some items were cheaper than SF market and other Asian markets around town. Great deals. There's even a bakery and hot food shops inside. Might want to buy fruits and veggies elsewhere though as many looked old and withered-not ALL, but some, while others were more "alive" and fresh looking. The cashiers were friendly and helpful. There was a language barrier, but I managed with the help of other customers and other associates who spoke a little more English. :) they offer a free membership card so make sure to sign up for reward points. read more

Great deal at the hot deli for their "Chinese burrito/wrap!" (9/20/25) One wrap was a huge portion and under $5! You can customize it or choose from one of their ready-paired menu options. You can choose between sweetened peanut powder, sesame powder, or unsweetened peanut powder as the base. You can choose your protein and add any other toppings. You could make your wrap vegan or vegetarian as well. The wrap is suuuuper thin and has a nice soft texture. Everything was so fresh and they still had a lot of toppings around lunch time. Hardly have to wait in line too. They also have other items Chinese pastries, buns, etc. The service was great. Very casual setting right inside the market. Highly recommend!! read more

First time here at 168 Market in Rowland Heights. It is an Asian supermarket. I do know at least a couple of their other locations in Alhambra and San Gabriel. For some reason, I seldom shop at 168. Their locations aren't along my travel route as much as the other Asian supermarkets. Just wanted to walk around and see what they have. It's a very clean and organized market. Aisles are wide. Shelves are nicely stocked. Lots of special deals. Produce and fruits were very fresh. Seafood was amazing. Saw some geoducks... YUM! Saw some frozen durians... even more YUM! There are a couple food vendors and a bakery on the left side of the market upon entry. I supported the bakery, but not the food vendors... maybe next time. As I was reaching the end of my stroll through, I saw the dried snacks vendor, Vua Kho Bo. I literally spent a good half an hour with them... I ended up spending some good moola on some good healthy stuff at their place. I didn't buy anything specifically from 168 since I had bought other items from their food and snack partners. This is a great Asian market, conveniently located off the 60 and near 57 freeway. I live in Orange County so it's conveniently located for me. My wife buys her Chinese groceries. Sometimes they have good prices on beer. I buy my salty plum seeds here in bulk for a good price. They recently got new shopping carts, which is great. The butcher shop is good and they will cut you meat to order overall we like shopping here. read more

Tip: know your item prices before checking out. Prices are sometimes more expensive at checkout compared to the tag on the shelves. Cashiers can be pretty rude. Cleanliness is basically what you'd expect from an Asian Supermarket. Best thing about this market is the 62 Noodle street, which is a really overdue review on my end Was trying to buy some items when we noticed it rang up as more expensive than what we saw. Cashier basically told us the price scanned is what it is and don't look at the tag saying we saw the wrong items tagged and barcode. She basically told us she can't do anything since that's what it scans as. I'm pretty sure I checked the tag so we went back grabbed the tag and brought it up. The barcodes matched so we escalated to someone more knowledgeable since the cashier didn't want to do anything. After 5-10 mins someone finally came up and said that's the price on the tag and they had to honor it. Took a lot of effort and basically the blamed corporate/headquarters for changing the prices and them not updating their tags. Not sure how that makes sense, but that's their reasoning. Love this Asian supermarket. Wide selection of the fresh veggies, meat, fruits, noodles, frozen stuff, and Asian snacks. They will have a tester of the products on the weekend. The price is decent and they got some promos as well. Other things I like about this store is they have seasonal snacks and decorations available. Just around the Chinese new year, I can find a lot of decorations, variety of cute red envelopes, and gift baskets. The supermarket is clean and organized. It has been a long time since my last visit to this market, and I had almost forgotten about it. I dropped in early in the morning and found everything beautifully displayed, clean, and well-organized. I even signed up for a membership and planned on coming back more often. However, I was disappointed by the service at checkout. Even though the market wasn't busy, the cashier refused to pack my groceries simply because I brought my own reusable bags. From the owners of 99 Ranch comes 168. Stopped by on a random Friday after lunch to get a bag of rice. Of course we overshopped. We got beef for beef stew (ask the butcher for the specific cut you need. We asked and they grabbed some from the back), herbal tea that turns to gelatin naturally! ( Ask the herbal store owner right in the middle of the store. The samples got us and they're a sweet Taiwanese couple), Korean instant coffee packs (there was a sale and we got the last 2) plus 6 breads for one price regardless of what you pick! I'm not happy with the fish today, I bought a pack of small mackerel for $ 4.81 and I look in the packaging and I find blood in it, I thought they didn't properly bleed out the fish but after a closer inspection I found the fish with it's guts still in and poop coming out when squeezed and blood coming out from the gills, it was gross but I feel like they could have better service at cleaning them before packaging, would I get the small mackerel again probably not. First time at this market. It was very clean & no stinky fishy smell, (like most Asian markets). LOL! Large produce dept offering yummy Asian fruits like Mangosteen, Dragon Fruit & Papaya varieties. I found prices here to be lower than H-Mart. The little Thai Street Food stand (inside) had delicious, authentic Thai desserts, just like my Thai Grandma used to make. Haven't tried the Entrees yet, that's for my next visit. Loved the frozen Bao choices, yummy snacks, fresh meats & seafood. Located inside a bigger plaza, this 168 Market is very much alike the other 168 Markets in the area. Lots of selection of fresh vegetables, meats, and everything in between. The staff here are also very chill and helpful. One cool thing was one of the cashiers greeted me with a smile when I purchased some mooncake and she was complimenting my choice/brand of mooncake. Yeah it was a bit extra, but nice to get a compliment. And friendly staff is definitely a plus. Will definitely come back to shop when I'm in the area! read more

168 used to be very popular when they first opened but I'm not sure they kept up with competitions. This store is decent. Good selections of various products, well organized shelves, and clean. Staff isn't very helpful; you're pretty much on your own so if you're not familiar with the layout, it can be a bit frustrating trying to locate items. Price levels are reasonable though not as many good bargains as they used to have. Deli items seemed a bit pricey to me, for an Asian market. Parking can be hard as there are too many stores and restaurants in the complex. read more

If I am looking for Taiwanese imported products , I definitely make the trip out here to this 168 Market location. I enjoy getting their bing (Taiwanese burrito). Freshly made to order and their burrito skin is made fresh. There are currently 3 different bing flavors to choose from and my favorite one is their crispy fried pork. Super yummy. I also come here for the Taiwanese dried products. I recently bought beef jerky, fish jerky, and honey nougat candy. All good. All times are well stocked and clean. One less star because their restrooms seriously need cleaning and often. One less star because I see some produce that aren't as fresh. For this one current visit I found some fruits that were moldy and needed to be discarded. I did let their staff know and they immediately removed the batch and brought out new produce. This review is for their hot deli section only. Y'all are SLEEPING on the absolute best char siu you can get in the area. And guess what it's from a supermarket deli!? My family are always on the hunt for good Hong Kong bbq and I can only speak for the char siu here but they sell roast duck as well. I tried a piece that was days old from leftovers my family bought and it was still pretty good and meaty but not a fair taste test to review right now. I'm actually not a fan of char siu since I've always found them to be dry or fatty and lacking in that OMPH of garlic five spice flavor. But then one day my dad brings home some Hong Kong char siu bbq pork and I was so surprised to have finally found delicious char siu actually flavored with enough five spice and garlic and was tender, juicy and not chewy or fatty or dried up. So I asked my dad, what restaurant this was from and I was SHOOK he said 168 market deli!?!? It's nicely packaged by weight in the hot deli either pre sliced or whole and it doesn't matter which one you get just get some because they sell out. Although I haven't been here myself, my dad frequents the deli to try to snag us some bbq and he says everyone snatches these up by the ARMFULS! What's crazier is the price. It's way cheaper than local restaurants and despite there being an actual Hong Kong bbq restaurant right next door, you can see clearly which char siu is the better one since 168 sells out early. Tbh writing this review is a disservice to my fam because now my poor dad is gonna have more competition to get that char siu for us. Def will be back soon to try their other items. read more

I come here for Asian food treasures! You'll never know what you're gonna find. They have a good selection for produce and seasonal fruits. Prices are on the higher side but I don't really mind it given the freshness and available of them at the store. They have a bakery inside that has really good baked goods, different types of breads, a tea and coffee bar. They're a quick good kiosk when you can grab ready to eat food like sushi, friends noodles, mixed rice, dumplings and others. Found these treasures the other day! So goooòd! read more

They don't rotate out the old, spoiled produce regularly. The first time was when I bought a napa cabbage. Went home, saw a big green caterpillar. I thought, ok it might be super fresh. I cut it open and it is ROTTEN with holes on the inside. There were maggots crawling allover inside the napa and you can see the bugs feces there. I let it go and didn't complain until tonight I took my grandpa here to shop, he picked up a package of sweet potatoes. They looked fine through the packaging. When we opened them they were MOLDY and SPOILED underneath! My grandpa made a face and I thought if it happened once, maybe the business didn't notice. But again! This time I have to complain. 168 Market is so much more than a Market - they sell (read this part like the Backstreet Boys song...) all I ever wanted, all I ever needed. (Stop the song at this point) and all I never thought I needed nor wanted (because I hadn't ever seen it before), but now I know better- I did and do need it and I did and do want it (all of it). They sell, like, every single type of product, such as household goods, alcohol, soy sauce, toilet paper, drinks of all flavors and kinds, sandals and shoes, lighters, food, and etc. in Hello Kitty and much of it in Sailor Moon and the Sailor Scouts. They have places to order food and eat inside, independent shops, LED blinds and installation. This review should have been written a long time ago, but I just assumed I had. ME, I am an ass, but U, you are not. Assumptions and all. I noticed when I was looking at my Asian Markets Collection here on Yelp, since my Wife and I are two days away from embarking on a trip to multiple Asian Countries (she asked me what I wanted to do for my 40th birthday...) and wanted to see last minute if there was anything to bring to Japan that isn't allowed over there (many things are not allowed nor are they sold), such as 5 hour energy shots (this is mostly because it is an American brand), but they sell them with the Sailor Scouts and Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters on them (Coffee takes too long to drink; I use 5 hour energy shots like it's my job). I know how certain things are in Japan; and, when invited to someone's house for a meal, it's imperative you bring a gift. The gift should be some type of food or drink. So, as I looked at the collection of my favorite Asian Markets, memories brought back which is what and where, why, and how (remember as children when we were taught about how to be simplistic, out of work investigative journalists by asking the five current events questions - who, what, why, where and when - how should have been included (much they had to drink while acting as a key witness) - jk about everything except for the JK in the parentheses). Is this even allowed grammatically speaking(?)- a parenthesis in a bigger parenthesis. I actually truly don't care, as I do it all the time and personally have no problem doing it. English IS my second language, after all. That is a total cop-out and I went to American schools all my life, including for my masters and postdoctoral degrees. I should kno, but i like the mystery of not knowing for sure. I live right on the edge (only for that reason). Roll your eyes because you know you're right- there are so many reasons and examples of how I live on the edge (or on a ledge), and none of them have anything to do with grammar. Soooooo obsessssssssssed with this store! They have everything you need I'm from Lao and it's so hard to find some of the ingredients and spices that we use. Everything I needed and more they had! So freakin happy I don't have to drive to Thai town anymore. Stores pretty big. Huge selections. They have banh chon and a little stall that sells fresh stuff! They have live seafood! Fish, crabs and so much more! They have a meat deli too! They also have like those Asian dried med stuff! Like the ones you'll find in Chinatown Huge parking lot! So that's a huge plus!! 168 is an Asian market that opened in 2006, similar to GW, 99 Ranch, Seafood City, H-mart but mostly geared to the Chinese community. The prices are grossly inflated but if keep an eye out on the ad and shop that way then, you are ahead of the game! Lol. It was clean and they also offer pastries on one side, (you know like the 85c ones?) Oh, they also have a Indonesian restaurant +62 street food. I need to check them out soon. read more

2.5-3 stars Stopped by the other day to grab a few items since we were in the area. Prior to this visit, we hadn't been in a couple of years. During the pandemic, most supermarkets are taking precautions but this market seems to be more on the dirtier side - i.e. shopping carts, produce section, and the aisles. It most definitely does not entice me to return in the future. There has been an inflation on prices all around, but the prices of the produce here were exorbitant! Almost $4/lb for most vegetables packed in a plastic bag. I would rather go to another market where they are freshy packed and way more affordable, and fresh. The vegetables here look like they have been sitting for a few days, "steaming" in their bag or just rotting in the bags. The produce section was getting restocked while we were there. We found a few items that we needed but not all. We walked up and down the aisles and couldn't find the one thing we needed, which we guess only 99 Ranch Market has. There were a few workers in the middle of the supermarket but they were having a long conversation with each other and what seems another customer. We did also purchase pork from the meat department. We haven't cooked it yet but it seemed to look okay. Overall there was plenty of parking when we were there, but the dirtiness of the parking lot and the store will not make us frequent customers. read more

When my dad and I drove by here to take out this Chinese breakfast from the deli section, we thought it was gonna turn out tasty but eeeeeewwwww. That wasn't the case at all. Upon this failed experience, we won't return here again because the deli section's chef/line cook was unprofessional whatever ingredients that were placed in the sticky rice wrap were extremely unfresh. There're other alternatives such as Hong Kong Plaza in Rowland Hts and 99 Ranch Market once it's back to zero CoVid19 case and safe to shop there again. For now, booooo, I've learned a lesson. This review is for the deli section. The Chinese run bing burritos are excellent. I've tried the #1 red yeast pork and #2 bei-jing pork and both are very good. They add other ingredients like eggs, veggies, bean sprouts, and crushed peanut and sesame and they go very well with the protein. The freshly made rice crepe wrapper also makes the burrito feel not as heavy and fattening as a tortilla would. They have other hot and cold Chinese foods that look pretty tasty, but you should try the run bing. I guess it's pretty popular in Taiwan and kind of hard to find here in the states. Can't beat a good meal for under 4 Bucks. read more

They have a pretty cool little eatery inside the market. If it wasn't for my mom I wouldn't have try the stuff we bought. I took tons of pictures for you to see what I'm talking about. They hand make their own four too! Also the tofu drink is fresh! We order one I'll call it a Chinese burrito, I asked for all veggies with sesame peanut powder. Wow I'm surprised how good it tasted. Plus I had the spicy tuna roll, and that was really good too! We also got some hot tofu drinks. The tofu you can tell is fresh like I said earlier and you can pick sweet or non sweet. This deli if you want has dim sum and other to go selections which we didn't do. But overall I like it and would come back again. Based on the aforementioned attributes, this place beats 99 Ranch. If you're expecting pretty aesthetics then don't come here, but if you want to get decent Chinese stuff in a practical fashion then this is your store. They also have a nice security guard in front who pulls out carts for your sometimes as you walk in . Four stars for the all above . However three stars because their cooked buns and food like sticky rice should be avoided . The buns texture is more Americanized and sweet and there's hardly any meat inside . There's a bakery , sushi stand, and a "panda" like hot food option. It has fresh groceries with seafood in the back. I just like that it's clean and bright. Besides the bakery, there is a Korean deli and Tea Time Express. All of which are really reasonably priced!!! KOREAN DELI: I haven't tried everything yet, but it all looks really good. A few of their dishes include dukbokki, bibimbap, bulgogi, and galbi. What I did try was their run bings. --RUN BING: Think Asian burrito. They use the same wrap as with lumpia (filipino egg rolls). There are four options: Red Yeast Pork Chop w/RB sauce, Beijing Pork w/Beijing Sauce, Tempura Seafood w/wasabi fish roe sauce, or your own custom creation-each choice costing $3.59...SO CHEAP for the size you get!!! I tried the Red Yeast Pork Chop option and it was really good (not spicy at all)!! It is definitely on the messy side as the thin wrap can easily tear, but it's really worth the price you're paying.
