I've come here several times for different services, including eyebrow waxing, a lymphatic drainage massage, and most recently, an Indian head massage. I've always had great experiences, but this last visit really stood out. Mary was my therapist, and she was absolutely wonderful. Her energy was so calming and welcoming from the moment I arrived. She was incredibly kind, accommodating, and took the time to really understand what I wanted to get out of my appointment. It was clear she genuinely cared about providing the best experience possible. I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and already looking forward to booking with her again. The only downside was that my appointment started about 15 minutes late because the client before me arrived late, which pushed the entire schedule back. Unfortunately, I had another commitment afterward and couldn't stay later, so I ended up losing part of my appointment time. I understand that delays happen, but I think a better solution would be to either reschedule significantly late clients or shorten their appointment so the rest of the day's schedule isn't impacted. It was disappointing to lose time from my service due to circumstances outside of my control. That said, Mary handled the situation with professionalism and made the most of the time we had. I try to do one things a month for myself (massage, manicure, pedicure etc). I had never had a facial so I thought I would give it a try. I booked a custom facial with additional massage. I told the esthetician that I have sensitive skin and to please adjust products accordingly. She told me I was wrong and didn't have sensitive skin. I should have left then but I thought once she looked at it under the light she would see I was correct. Oh how I was wrong. I even told her during the facial that my skin was a tingly and felt funny. Im kicking myself for not getting up and leaving then too. So now I'm having to schedule a dermatology appointment because my skin looks like strawberry. It is red and itchy and burns. They may do ok with skin that isn't sensitive but I don't recommend even trying it with sensitive skin. Also don't add on the additional massage. It wasn't a real massage. Pressure was light and that is being generous. It felt more like she was putting lotion on my skin. With all the places in St Louis, I would find a different place for a facial and massage. read more

I set up a membership with monthly massages I went twice and then I broke my ribs. I called to cancel my membership because I could not get messages with so many broken bones. Right after that I had a knee replacement. It has now been eight months and I discover that they never cancelled my membership and were charging me $99 a month for a service I believed I had cancelled. Now I find out that I had to send a letter to cancel.no one told me this. This is a scam. A good company would have noticed the inactivity and contacted me. This company just stole my money with their send a letter scam. I give this company no stars and I hope others don't get caught up in their shady tactics. No wonder they are growing so fast! I honestly wish I could give a negative rating. I booked myself for a Swedish massage with aromatherapy and a facial with steam treatment. My brief thoughts about both treatments: If someone is pushing their head into the bed to pull away from the aesthetician who's doing extractions, pressure needs to be let up or that person needs to check in with the client about applied pressure. I had bruises all over my face from the extreme pressure once I got home from my appointment. My massage was fine. That's it. I was giving them a second chance after my first visit that was also super disappointing, but turns out I just need to move on and go somewhere else. However, there was talking or some kind of noise for the entire hour of treatment. There was maybe 10 min of quiet, total. Every time I'd start to drop off to sleep, I'd be woken up by people talking. I actually thought about getting up in the middle and refusing to pay but I hadn't had a massage in ages and thought surely they'd get quiet. The front desk person apologized and said she could give me free aromatherapy and heat for my next massage - a total gift of $10! This is not the way to do business. After visiting Morgan Ford Massage & Spa, I now can relate to those ladies in the Herbal Essence commercials. "YES, YES, YES!" While my achy back was staying in St. Louis, I browsed through all my discount sites, looking for a good deal on a massage. When I came across a great deal for Morgan Ford, a locally owned and operated spa, a friend and I didn't waste any time making an appointment. I'm always weary when buying deals for restaurants, massages, or any other services online, but a majority of the deals I have bought have ended up being thoroughly enjoyed by moi! I was put with a smaller built girl and I thought to myself, "I bet my friend got the strong massage therapist. Ho hum." Ever hear of that saying, 'Don't judge a book by it's cover'? Yeah well that saying smacked me right in the face, or rather my back. I received a deep tissue massage, by Amity Helton, and I have to say it was one of the BEST deep tissue massages I have EVER had. I WILL be back when I'm in, near, or even just passing thorough the St. Louis area. I'm tempted to drive five hours just for a massage. If you have any knots to to get rid of, Amity is your girl! While I am a little on the fence about sharing an unhappy review for Morganford Massage since my first experience was fabulous during my Chinese herbal body scrub and wrap - I am stunned at what not only is an excessive fee given to those missing appointments, but also at the unprofessionalism I just encountered when I called back to learn if we could work something else out. I booked a facial just last night for today. And after being sidetracked by two unexpected client calls today, just completely blanked on my appointment until minutes ago. When I called to apologize and reschedule, I was told that I was charged the full cost of the fee for the facial - $70.00, and that my card used to hold the appointment was already charged. I am stunned. Even my Dr.s at Barnes do not charge fees like this. I chose to hold off on rescheduling and avoiding $140.00 in total for the service, and also thinking maybe this place isn't doing things I appreciate anyway, and my money may be better spent somewhere else. I get it. I missed an appointment and that is not cool or good for their business. However, the nature of their business cannot get around this occurrence either. I called back and spoke with another individual who literally said to me; "I don't know what you want me to tell you. I don't understand how you can forget an appointment you just made last night." Are you kidding me? This is rude, condescending and critical. Shouldn't they be working to maintain a new customer relationship and keep that business? She agreed to take my number and get it to the boss who was unavailable. I'm mortified at this level of unprofessionalism, lack of basic respect and that I was not at any time informed of this fee or practice while I booked the appointment. I don't care that it is on their website as it was explained to me, it should be explained as I am booking the appointment. Now I have $70 going to a massage spa who didn't tell me that was a possibility, didn't perform any service and didn't try to work out an arrangement mutually beneficial for everyone. I bought a Groupon for Morgan Ford Massage Therapy and was very pleased. My massage therapist was Barbara. When it comes to massage, I prefer medium-ish pressure. She started a little to light for me, but quickly increased the pressure when I requested. She didn't try to talk to me the whole time, which is my pet peeve. I don't mind the occasional question or comment, but I hate it when a massage therapist tries to carry on an entire conversation. The only downside was that my massage was supposed to come with aromatherapy, but I really didn't smell anything. The hot towels weren't that great either, they quickly became ice cold and not very comfortable. I will return to Barbara and I will try the hot stone massage! read more

Having recently started a new desk job (I've been on my feet for the past 2 years) I re-discovered the knots that come along with sitting at a computer all day, which led to the purchase of a massage on Groupon. A friend of mine recommended Amity, and I am so glad she did! I am rather small, but my back is made of bricks and it takes a lot to work the knots out of me. Most massage therapists I have dealt with must be afraid of hurting me, because no matter what, I always leave with a few knots still intact. Amity dug in and tackled them, and it was glorious. Only once or twice did I have to ask her to ease up on the pressure as she worked me over and found spots that I didn't even know were tense. The massage was so great that I signed up for their monthly massage package... by far the best deal I have encountered at $49/mo! I'm on a budget, but decided I could make that work if it would help me feel better, plus there was no contract so I'm not locked into anything. I had my second appointment yesterday, and once again it was great. The best part (aside from actually getting my knots worked out) was that Amity didn't just do the exact same massage again, but really worked out the muscles that needed it (turns out typing has lead to some crazy tense arms, who knew). IMO, huge difference in techniques, depending on training. It has been my experience that Healing Arts grads have better skills than community college trainees. Just sayin'. At any rate, I had hour massage with hot towels & aromatherapy. Hot towels felt great. Andrew was quiet, unless I prompted convo, which is Everything when you just want to relax. I found this place when I was newly pregnant and looking for a massage. I seriously tried about 5 places before finding someone willing to give a 1st trimester woman a massage. It was a progressively frustrating process, which of course made me need a massage even more. I am so thankful I found this place and my wonderful therapist, Jenn. The spa is small and intimate, it has a very cozy feeling. Jenn spent time before the session to figure out what my needs were and my likes & dislikes. I really liked her style; she makes good use of accupressure and release points, just what my shoulders needed. I was so happy leaving my first visit that I bought a package. I will unfortunately be moving out of town and hate the idea of trying out new therapists, but am happy to have found this place while I was here. Another point I like about this place is an hour massage means an hour massage, that little 'consultation' at the beginning does not cut into your time like it does at so many other places. read more

I had a groupon for a massage and facial and they were both great! The massage was really good and she totally worked out some serious knots in my upper back. The facial was very relaxing too, and I usually have not had good experiences with facials. I would certainly go back. Scheduling was easy and everyone was very friendly. They have a good assortment of natural skin care products, too. The only complaint I have is that there's just a little basket to put your clothes in, and since it's winter mine definitely did not fit (just my boots took up the whole basket) and I ended up carrying this huge pile of coats and clothes from one room to the next. I know businesses are struggling and so I write this sadly as I have been visiting MFMS for 5 years...both the Tower Grove and Soulard location. I have never had a massage therapist literally fall asleep on me while doing my massage. I just went this last Saturday and she was massaging my neck and would stop working and then jolt awake. Not only was this jarring, but so incredibly awkward. This continued on for my entire 90 minute massage. I still paid, didn't say anything and tipped well. I hope that the woman who did my massage was just extremely tired due to other factors. Will come back, but definitely won't book that individual again at the Tower Grove location. read more

I was in St. Louis on a business trip and wanted to get a massage on short notice. I was so lucky to find this gem of a spa. Amity was my massage therapist. Amity was so very professional and a talented massage therapist but in addition, I felt she connected to me energetically and knew exactly what I needed with the right amount of firmness where I needed special attention all without me having to tell her. I get massages often and highly recommend Amity. My girlfriend also received a 2 hour massage and stated her therapist Anna was just as good. Have seen several Therapists at Morgan Ford since it opened. I highly recommend Morgan Ford to both occasional and regular clients. Their system for booking and maintaining appointments is wonderful. There is no high pressure sales pitch, no up sell, and no bad therapists. Everyone is highly personable and professional. For myself, this has been a refreshing change after years of dealing with other Spa's and Massage clinics in St. Louis. I also highly recommend the massage therapist Angel for those needing deep tissue work. Her ability to understand an dread ho much pressure is required at a given session is amazing. read more

Just had my first massage here with Matt and holy hell was it amazing! I've been searching for a massage therapist for 4 years since I moved here and have always been disappointed. The dude listened and interacted just enough not to get me out of my zen but to help me be a part of the experience. He was very attentive and caring. The spa itself is small but had a welcoming vibe. The lady at the front desk was very sweet and offered me the monthly package but not in a pushy way. Just like "hey it's available". I took her up on it and love that I'm not locked in but saving a $11 a month on a massage that I planned to get anyway. Even though it's on Morgan Ford, it's down enough where parking isn't an issue. I have horribly tense shoulders that I've neglected to take care of for years, so I decided to finally find a place to get a decent massage every month or two. After trying a couple of other therapists, I settled on Johanna who has now given me a 30-minute and a 60-minute massage. She's really laid back, and makes the whole experience relaxing. She's good at noticing where the sore/tight spots are, and focuses in on those. I didn't dislike the other therapists (Tracy and Janis) I just liked Johanna more. She talked to me a little, but not too much, which I appreciated. The very best part is that every month since I've had my first visit, they send me a "We Miss You" email with a 10% off code! I know 10% isn't very much, but I don't like paying full price for anything so it convinces me every time. Being able to book online is a huge plus for me as well. read more

They told me I had a credit that never expired when I cancelled and just so happens that is no where to be found. Great brazilian wax! Jennifer's technique is great, fast and thorough. I just moved here from Austin and needed to find a good place for waxing. I've been getting brazilian waxes for over 8 years and I highly recommend Jennifer. I've never experienced a more thorough, fast and professional wax. I also recommend Amity for a deep tissue massage. She worked out a kink in my neck and shoulder that was giving me headaches. She knew the right pressure points and firm enough that I was feeling the tension release immediately. (I requested this amount of pressure) The rest of the day I felt relaxed but also energetic. I visited the Soulard location because I purchased a groupon for both a facial and massage. Very very great deal! I booked by phone a week or two before going on vacation to St. Louis. The receptionist I spoke with was very polite and helpful! The business itself is very nice and in a really cool building. I had a 60 minute massage with Kevin, who was amazing! Probably the best massage I've ever had and he was very informative and took care of my troubled areas. I wanted to take him home in my suitcase! I felt like the facial I received consisted mostly of the steamer just sitting over my face. Not much else to say. I did like the fact that even though I booked 2 separate services with different people that I didn't have to change rooms myself. I was very disappointed in the blow dry/style :( As soon as I got back to my hotel room I took the bun down (which had fallen quite a bit itself) brushed out the hairspray and finished blow drying and styling it myself. Maybe there was some miscommunication during the consultation? I definitely felt my hair looked much better when I first arrived than it did when I left.
