Great addition to downtown Hayward. Perfect for kids - it a smaller version of chuck e cheese. I love this place and want it to succeed. Hayward is an underdog city - and this is such a unique space. If I was the mayor of Hayward I would shine a light on this place as I think its an important piece of the city. I live just 2 blocks away and have never gotten any note on my front door or advertisement or coupon. I think that is a shame. If I was head of marketing for this business I would place a flyer under every door mat in a 5 or 10 block radius. This is a missed opportunity for core customers. There are new high rise buildings also popping up - a huge senior building - why not a special flyer offering seniors discounts if they show up for an early bird dinner? Often times you can also tell if kids live in any given home in the neighborhood. There are kiddie pools, tiny shoes left out front, bikes thrown around in the front yard - these homes should be targeted even more aggressively with fliers and some sort of incentive to come in. Another huge problem with this place is the lack of emphasis on ease of 'searchability' of the place. I had lived so close since 2016 and had not known about the place until maybe 2020 during the pandemic. How is that possible? It's all about not knowing this is an arcade. Sector 19 doesn't mean anything to me. It should be called 'Sector 19 Arcade' so that people can find it with a Google or Waze search. The arcade is clean and bright and fun for little kids. Its a safe place too - where parents can hang outside more in the restaurant part and not worry they wandered off - there is only one way out. The arcade needs to be front and center - this is why people come. Pizza House or Susie Qs have no competition in this arena.... so lean in on this. I will say that a Susie Qs has an edge with food quality - so again, more reason to make the family friendly atmosphere the center of attention. read more

This place is amazing! Our son and his friends had a blast! I highly recommend this place. Laser tag equipment here is better than any other place we've been to. The guns are more reactive and you can level up and use shields. The equipment is clean and they ask you to treat it with care and not to drop them on the floor, which I appreciate because the equipment worked well. It's always a bummer when you play laser tag and someone feels cheated because their gun wasn't working or responding. There were no complaints. Also, the names are awesome. The staff is very kind to us and even though we didn't have a package they treated us very well. They aren't just polite but they are really seem to want to make sure that have a great time. There was one little boy who came with his family of grown ups and the staff asked if he could join us our crew of similarly aged boys. It was great for our crew and for our new friend because they had more people to play with and he could run around with kids his own age. The staff is extremely polite and everyone seemed to check in to see if we were happy and having a good time. If not, they were cleaning the machines. If you are someone who doesn't like touching sticky machines or equipment or walking on dirty floors this is the place for you. This place is clean! We had two pizzas and drinks and the pizzas were very good! I mean, I would come for just the food, and it looked like there were a couple of people who were there just to eat. Had a lot of fun playing laser tag, although I wish there were any kind of deal or package you could get for multiple games as $12 is pretty pricey for a 15 min game. The rest of the arcade was nothing to write home about. Food was also nothing to write home about, I was kind of disappointed after reading the rave reviews on here and Google. The staff for the arcade were all very kind and helpful! One of the bathrooms was super poorly kept and literally had nothing in it. I mean nothing- no toilet paper, seat covers, or paper towels. I don't write many reviews but I wanted to share our positive experience. We had a party for our daughter's 16th birthday with her friends and some of their parents. They all had a blast! After check-in, the kids had one round of laser tag and then they took a break to eat. Then they had some arcade time (we bought player cards for the kids) before the next round of laser tag. And then we cut the cake before they went to play in the arcade again. The food was great! We had pizza and then I added chicken wings, salad, fruit and veggies - everything was really good quality. I've often seen the sign for Sector 19 driving round the Hayward loop but never understood until now what it was. My sister, Elite, had booked a private event here for my nephew and niece's 10 and 12th birthdays for them and their friends and all their parents. There's a nice backroom with tables and a little lounge area with couches in the room, a TV that plays some music videos and billiards table for the adults while the kids play. We ordered the pizza package , which was reasonably priced per head considering you get a few games of laser tag with food as well and drinks. The restaurant, craft eatery is co-opped with the venue, so the food was legit food and definitely not the nasty pre-frozen stuff you might expect from a Chuck-E-Cheese or something. We ordered extras like nachos, which were really addicting and crunchy and cheesy and the chicken wings were really good too, really crunchy and flavorful and freshly fried and hot. There's so many activities for the kids to do to keep them busy. My sister did the add-on of VR for the kids as well. So they got to take turns . The laser tag experience was soooo fun for all the kids. It was chaotic but it was nice seeing them play like normal with their friends. Also a small arcade in the front like ski ball, basketball, shooter games, and prize games. I also appreciate there's a bar for the adults and a billiards table so the adults just hung out and socialized as well. My brothers had their fun going down the list of beers one at a time. The staff was very attentive especially in attending to the kids at the party. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and most likely will be celebrating more of our kids' parties here in the future. The food, for me which is if not the most important thing when it comes to throwing a party, was REALLY good, legit restaurant good because it's from the craft-eatery The place is fun for both adults and kids. I really like the private setup with couches and chairs and billiards and alcoholic drinks for the adults. My husband and I were so excited to eat here again but we were SO underwhelmed and disappointed. We came on an evening 6/17. I ordered the club sandwich and at first it looked delicious! But, the bottom bread was completely soggy/mushy and not edible. I pushed on it and you could see the liquid come out :(. I ended up taking the bottom bread off. My husband ordered the burger and he said it lacked flavor and just wasn't enjoyable. The salad was decent and the fries were good. We also ordered fried green beans and remember those being better as well. Our favorite part of the meal was the aioli. We are hoping we went on a bad kitchen day. Apparently you should not come here on a Saturday night. We came around 6 for our 615 pm and 715pm laser tag sessions which we signed up in advance and the place was packed with a wedding reception in the restaurant area. I'll give them two stars because the kids (15 year olds) enjoyed the two sessions of laser tag and that ran smoothly. And they played in the small arcade for a little. We were looking forward to getting food in between sessions but since the wedding reception was there we couldn't have access to it. There were also two other birthday parties for a 9 year old and 13 year old which we expected. So while all of these young kids were celebrating their bday, the DJ was playing loud music, there was a dance floor, and all the adult guests swarmed the inside area and outside area. Smoking cigarettes and drinking outside the building and smelling like weed inside the building. They couldn't even hear us when we had to check in and verify we had our waivers completed because the music and guests were so loud. I don't care if you do this stuff in a place that's not mixed with an arcade and laser tag for kids. Just buy the whole place out or as the owner don't mix both audiences. The Photo Booth for the wedding was set up in the walkway/entrance lobby. So you had to walk through it to come and go. The kids were hungry and we had to buy round table pizza across the street and eat it from our car trunk (tailgate) between laser tag sessions since we didn't have access to the restaurant. Because the wedding party took up all the space, there was no space to sit while waiting for the kids during laser tag. So as the parties are walking out of the building with their kid balloons they're walking in between drunk and smoking wedding guests who left the trash outside on the light posts. What a mess and disappointment especially since most of the reviews on here were good. If you're going to have a party that takes up 90% of the space with no access to the food, warn the other guests or don't accept additional reservations. If I would've known this before I paid I wouldn't have come. Won't be coming back here. read more

As a parent, I appreciated that staff seemed mindful of the activity areas and spaces and often saw them regularly cleaning/disinfecting. We noticed there's no shortage of arcade games to choose from for both the little ones and adult kids and our time playing laser tag was truly the highlight for us! It felt like we burned a ton of calories running around chasing each other. This was also super kid/adult friendly and they make it very easy for all ages to join and play. Sector 19 was an amazing experience! There were so many different types of games and activities for kids and adults, like laser tag, virtual reality games, and arcade games. We started off with laser tag and that was awesome. Easy to learn the game and rules, but so much strategy once you get in the maze! It was a good workout and exhilarating when people pop out from behind a wall. You get a score and rankings after the match so you can talk trash for days. The VR gaming was heart pounding. I played the zombie game and it was easy enough... until you get to the night time level and the zombies start rushing you from all directions IN THE DARK. . They also had simple and games for kids. The arcade area had the fun arcade action games, prize games, traditional pinball games, skee ball, and basketball. There were games for adults (like basketball and pinball) and the kids (skee ball and the those prize games). You also get tickets so you can earn prizes. The entire family had a great time. We've gone back a few times and will definitely be coming back for more. This is a must have in your regular rotation. Also the food from Craft was delicious! What a wonderful hidden gem in downtown Hayward! I wouldn't have known this place existed if it wasn't for Yelp. A friend and I decided to come here for a playdate with the kiddies. My only tiny complaint is that they're only open 5-9 on certain days, but I get that they probably don't get much biz in the daytime during the week so it's understandable. The outside gives no indication of what you'll find inside. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was! The space is separated into a few sections. There are two main spaces, one for the eatery and the other for the arcade. Inside the arcade are your staple arcade games (most are new or almost new), laser tag, and a VR games. The arcade was fun, but the biggest surprise was the food! Their Craft Eatery has some delicious and GENEROUS offerings. Burger and fries were so good! Fries are super crispy and fresh, and their burgers come STACKED! Their loco moco is super yummy! The only thing is, they sprinkle a generous amount of green onions on top (and I think there's some mixed in with the rice as well). I love green onions, but my kids... not so much. They like loco moco so I ordered it for them but I ended up eating most of it because we all got tired of picking off the green onions. Oh well, more food for me! They also have some craft sodas and a selection of beer on tap... perfect pairing for your scrumptious meal. Staff was super nice, patient, and informative. We had a lot of questions but they answered with plenty of details, and were happy to answer any follow up questions we had. Not only was the entire place spacious, but it was also really clean! What a nice establishment. From the accommodating hosts at Sector 19 and The Pizza Grill Restaurant, everything was top notch. The staff are very helpful and courteous. I had time to take a small meal in at the restaurant area, which consisted of a pastrami sandwich, garlic fries and a soft drink. The sandwich was quite tasty, but those garlic fries; Wowsers! So tasty, especially for baked fries. The cooks in the kitchen know what they're doing. The garlic was all around the large pile of crispy fries (which can easily be shared between 2 people), mixed evenly, unlike other places that just pile spoonfuls on top of the fries. It's Friday night and I didn't feel like cooking so I asked my son what he wanted for dinner and he said, "burger please". Yelp showed me Craft Eatery but then I saw this place also had arcade. Soon as my husband got home we checked out this spot. Private parking lot and we were greeted right away. There were plenty of tables available and they had a QR code for the menu. I was able to place our orders and paid it through my phone (ApplyPay). Our drinks arrived and we all enjoyed them ( Fruity delight, Cherry blast, Frisco Breeze and summer breeze). We ordered some to go too! Then hubby's wings arrived along with Kali burger and Western burger... for additional $2 you can make it garlic or cheesy bacon. The burgers were BIG!!! We were stuffed until one of the ladies asked if we were ready for the churros. Oooh those were so good!!! and my son enjoyed the cheesecake. ( I don't know what it taste like because he didn't share!) We played a few games in the arcade and I can say it was pretty clean. It's a great family spot for drinks, good food and entertainment. Reminds me of a more quiet family-friendly Dave & Busters without the drunks and loud music. I hope this place maintains its cleanliness, great food and relaxing ambience. Can I just start by saying, I am SO happy I went with Sector 19. Here's the breakdown of my experience: Event: My (turning) 10 year old daughter's birthday with 15 boys and girls. Came here after eating at Craft. The game room is bigger than it looks. There is a laser tag section and a VR game section too. Behind the scenes are party rooms for you to have a kids birthday party. The game room is big enough for me to keep track on my little ones. There are some pinball machines, arcades, and a ticket machines where you can trade in for prizes. The laser tag area is fun and your code name depends on what vest you put on. I was able to demonstrate my Oaktown gun skills and beat everyone in laser tag. Great fun! The VR games are also a blast. It was my first time ever playing one of these games and it's so realistic. Wow! Not speaking for the food here as we didn't have any, but my son and I had a blast playing laser tag for $10/person. I don't think I've ever seen a place this cheap before. We actually had the entire space to ourselves - it was non-stop running - so much so that I was out of breath before we were out of time. (Needless to say, he wasn't...). We took a break and went again - though I picked a game that wasn't quite so biased toward speed. The laser tag area is nicely decorated and definitely on the newer side compared to other similar places. The arcade games are great too and we especially loved the 4 player Minecraft game. The VR experience is totally worth it with many titles for all ages. The staffs are super friendly and always willing to help. We really had no complaints at all. Oh, did I mention their food? Yup you usually don't expect great food for a gaming/party place like this (sorry D&B's), but the Craft Eatery there is totally worth the trip for the food alone. We were stressed because this was a last minute party plan and we had to convince my daughter to give it a shot. We went to scope the venue out and met with the owner, Carlo. Carlo was super friendly, professional, and accommodating and was able to answer all the questions we had. We set a date (which was only 3 days away) and crossed our fingers that our daughter and her friends would have fun. Prior to the party date we had to shift our plans to have the party to the VERY NEXT DAY so were super stressed wondering if Sector 19 would able to accommodate due to the fact that we literally just booked the day before for the upcoming Friday. Carlo, was super accommodating and we were able to switch our party date with ease. Ultimately my daughter said she and her friends loved her birthday party set up and had a blast playing laser tag! The food was very good and they also have a bar there next ti their arcade. All the staff there were super nice and accommodating and they have a parking lot too which makes it very convenient. Threw a birthday party there for my 14th year old son and everyone had a great time! All the guests enjoyed all the games, laser tag, and VR entertainment. The customer service was amazing and all the employees were helpful and nice. The food provided for the party from Sector 19 was very good. Some of the guests even bought alcoholic drinks and food from The Craft Eatery that's adjacent to Sector 19 and was very impressed with their food and selection. We got the first party package which included pizza and added a veggie tray and salad. We played 3 games of laser tag and the boys had a blast. Hello Readers, I chaperoned my grandchildren to Sector 19 for a School function K-6 and it was full of Students and adults. The Staff was very organized form checking in the students and even name tags for the adults. Sector 19 was closed for the general public for this event, They catered the event with Pizza's and Healthy fresh fruits along with chips, salsa and a warm cheese sauce that was very flavorful. The Restaurant was open for menu items and adult beverages. What stood out to me was those fresh homemade tortilla chips, I've been in many restaurants that have tortilla chips and I thought Los Compadres had the best in Bay Area until I tried Sector 19's chips they were over the top excellent with those air pockets in the chips that's unique to Los Compadres but I think these are slightly better. Please check for yourself. Also the food items being delivered to the tables looked great and plentiful as far as portions. The entire staff mostly young where TOP NOTCH ON POINT. I spoke to a few staff members and they were helpful, knowledgeable and going to College as well. I will Definitely be back and I'm bringing two friends to challenge my challenge for Best Chips. This place is amazing! Very clean and Covid friendly. We only spent time in the arcade section with ticket games, not big but entertaining enough for my 5 and 8 year old. We went on a weeknight and literally had the place to ourselves. The gentleman in the front was so friendly and walked around to ensure things were in order. They have 3 party rooms, a very cool laser tag room which we will need to try next time, and a small VR section. There is a pool table too which I didn't not see. They also have a brewery onsite. You can easily miss this place because it's on busy foothill and not much signage. Parking and entrance is in the back. Can't wait to go back. read more

A group of 12 of us went to Sector 19 purely for the laser tag, but believe me it is WAY more than that. This place is the closest thing to an adult Chuck E. Cheese I have ever experienced (but with better pizza). Not only were the games and activities extremely fun and engaging, but the staff was super accommodating and helpful, going as fair as to extending our VR and LT privileges so that everyone in our party could enjoy the full experience.
