This Store was much better when the other store manager was here. I came in trying to get a few…read moreitems and immediately was met by the store manager Alexa having a personal conversation on the phone behind the counter near the ammo. This lasted a few minutes until she went behind a door to continue her conversation for pretty much my entire time in store (over 40 minutes, and yes I could hear her laughing on the phone while I was walking out). There was only 2 other people in the store working, and maybe 3 other customers. The staff that were actually working were very helpful, and helped my wife find the shoe she was looking for. I wasen't going to write a review, but we came in on a separate visit trying to get a duffle, the Same Manager was actually on the sales floor (surprise) and we had asked her if she could bring us one down one so we could look at it. She was right next to them, and instead called a younger employee to grab it down with some big stick that was by the front door. Why were we made to wait??? Why couldn't you do it??? I've seen stores that were going out of business with more attentive management. I advise going to the other big 5's as this one has poor customer service starting from the top!

Play It Again Sports is one of those increasingly rare sporting-goods stores that still feels…read morenostalgic. Walking in brought back memories of being a kid and coming here for bats, cleats, gloves, and whatever I needed for the next season. Experiences like this make it feel like childhood sports aren't completely gone in the age of online shopping. The selection is still what I remember, a little bit of everything for a wide variety of sports and seasons. The employee working the counter on Labor Day was polite, personable, knowledgeable, and quick. I also appreciate that this is still a place where you can walk in and pick up something sports-related quickly or at the last minute without breaking the bank or waiting for an online order. Five stars for keeping a little piece of that childhood sports experience alive.

That hybrid fitness bike is so worth it especially having my favorite color Rose Red - their color called "Orchid" , bike is so light and fast. I had to buy a kick stand since it doesn't come with the bike and it came loose , so I came today to have it fix and wanting to return the white lucky cat water bottle bike holder since I found the black one somewhere else where it's sold out. Chris acknowledge me since he was busy with a customer, apologizing that I had to wait and fixed the bike stand , took off the cat water bottle holder, put air in my tires, adjusted my seat, height and put the phone holder I never got originally? On that note... gotta give that credit to Kelly, who noticed I didn't have one and I told her I brought it up when I bought the bike Wednesday ? She even adjusted my light reflector to a smaller size to fit my handle bars. Didn't question me why I wanted to returned the white cat water bottle holder. (They were sold out of the black cat and found it somewhere else.) I had is the BEST customer service from both of them -Team work makes the dream work and those two need a raise! I am often at this REI trying to find outdoor gear and supplies…read more I think I have figured out the layout of this place now so I know which sections to head to for my needs. Just also know that all their bike stuff is located in another building, so dont be disappointed. Its cool to have another building just for bikes and bike related gear. This REI also has a lightly used section. I do go and check out whats on offer there, but so far haven't found anything that works. The thing with REI is that you have to want the thing thats carried in the store and nowadays with so many options, REI won't always carry I what I need specifically... Case in point, cavers need specialized equipment as our needs are different than say climbers or canyoneerers. Yes, some things might be shared, but in general, cavers have very special needs. But, today, when I came in here, I did find a quick link I needed so that worked out nicely. I am also a runner and finally decided I need a fanny pack (I hate how the 80s and 90s ruined this item for me), so I also got one that was small enough that would be perfect for my runs. Service is always great here, very friendly and staff always trying to help. I like also that this REI has a community board in the back and I like to check out whats on offer locally. Really wonderful to have this REI here in Kearny Mesa, super convenient and I can go Asian grocery shopping right after! Win win!

I asked friends if they knew of anyone who does this and came up with nothing. I suddenly remembered this store and was wondering if it is still around. Sure enough, it is and looked on the website if they do relacing and they do! I was wondering if they relace vintage baseball gloves and took the shot and drove up there. Sure enough, they were able to take my gloves and relace them. The gentleman mentioned it would be ready by the next day. Dropped them off and about 2 hours later, I got a message that they're ready! That was so fast and a very reasonable price to get them relaced. I am so thankful for this store, staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They love the sport and it shows. I thought this store was going to close about 20 years ago when I stepped in for the first time because baseball was dying. I got my first Rawlings glove here and still have it to this day. I'm glad Charlie Rose is still open and I hope business continues!
