THE ABSOLUTE WORST GUN STORE IN SAN DIEGO. I cant even explain how horrible this place is about customer service. Employees will walk right past you and when you ask for help they tell you to check in. There is no service to check in, the wait time is always 50-60 minutes to see something out of the case. Buying ammo is a hassle with them since you can wait hours. On our last visit we checked in and told employees that we were just asking about a pistol in the case. 2 employees working with one customer. After 20mins we left and went to Fine Firearms to make our purchases there. Come to find out they MUST UP MY FSC CARD and it's a hassle now to purchase. We are officially boycotting and will never be back. We were already home when 3 HOURS LATER, we get a txt that we are next in the line. Many shops in San Diego are more friendly, knowledgeable and better equipped then this place. read more

I am a first time gun buyer so when I went there, I got this older woman to help me out. I mean by her demeanor felt like I was not welcome no smile nothing I felt uneasy with her helping me, but I forgot a document and had to drive home to go get it when I return. I decided to go to Sportsman's Warehouse because of their online ads. The ammo was priced so cheap I had to check it out. I have to admit after reading reviews about customer service and the long waits, I was leery. I decided to go right at opening. Hoping not to wait long, if at all. I walked in and was greeted with Welcome in and how are you. Hmmm so far, so good. I went to the counter and there were a few people already there. The wait wasn't too bad. Anyone who has visited the gun counter anywhere should expect some type of wait. Anyhow, once I did get help, it was with Isaac and a trainee Garrett. Isaac was super personable and helpful. I didn't feel rushed and felt he was giving great customer service helping me find the ammo I needed and Garrett would surely benefit by shadowing Isaac. Anyhow, as I was leaving, a different staff member was walking by and told me to, "Have a great day." 4 positive interactions in one store is a rarity in of itself. So I guess you will have to just go in and give them a chance. Prices for some things are worth checking them out. If you are buying a gun make sure to check in by scanning the QRC they have posted, I saw at least two places to check in. I didn't check in for my ammo purchase. And it's almost like they give short answers on purpose to be petty. I work in customer service industry and know how to talk to human beings in general, and this place is not it. Sportsman's Warehouse is fairly new to Santee. Located next to Michael's on Town Center Parkway just east of Walmart and across from Home Depot/Costco. Parking is plentiful. Becky and I stopped in to check it out. We're not actively in the market for outdoorsy stuff, but we were in the area. We walked in and were impressed with the inventory and the layout. Camping, fishing, hunting, outerwear, shoes, everything for your outdoor needs. Prices seemed a bit steep, but I guess that is to be expected at a specialty store. They do claim to have a price match guarantee, although some of the scathing reviews seem to indicate that might be a problem. Personally, I'm not really impressed with price matching. If you beat the price, now you've got my attention. I'm sure that when we are ready to pull the trigger on that Traeger we'll compare Sportsman's Warehouse pricing to that of the competition. In the meantime, I was very impressed with the variety of wood for my smoker. I'll definitely go to Sportsman's Warehouse for that. read more

I was really excited about this place. They have a good variety of products and large inventory of products you cant find elsewhere in San Diego area. However, last time I shopped there I had a really negative experience. The customer service was very poor, almost insulting. The guy behind the counter apparently was hungover and kept needing to take breaks. The other clerk came over to fill-in for him while the hungover guy nursed his "spins" and was very short and rude with me like he was annoyed that he had to help his buddy out. I just told them thanks but no thanks and left. The low reviews on here for such a new big box store are really ominous for this location. Maybe in other markets you can mail it in. Bought a shotgun online at a decent price. Scheduled my appt to pick it up. Website, paperwork, and everything else Sportmans Warehouse showed clearly stated bring in ID and credit card used to purchase. I did this and after driving 20miles I was told I needed the firearm safety certificate also. I had a digital version which was used previous times by other companies but didn't have the card on me so I wasted my time and fuel. Absolute worst customer service I have ever seen! I would give them zero star if I could. I normally don't write reviews but this business have such horrible customer service that I have to warn others. I went In the other day to order a fish finder and waited 15 minutes before they acknowledge I was there. 3 people working at counter. One was helping a customer and the other 2 were busy chatting. One was the manager who should know better. So I thought ok maybe they had something important to discuss but today I went again and same thing happened. Waited at counter for at least 10 minute while they chatted with each other and acted like I wasn't even there. They need to get training in customer service. Not only that, their employees doesn't know their products. I asked them about the fish finder and was looking to buy a gun, they couldn't give me much info in either because they don't know. For such a big company it's very disappointing that they have such bad customer service and they don't train their employees. I will never go there again. Very unimpressed with staff in the archery department (Chuck) and the manager (Stewart?) is the only reason this isn't a 1-star review. A bow was sold to us by the desk staff and we were encouraged to come back when Chuck didn't call out of work so it could be set up... not ideal but with limited inventory, we made the purchase. We set up the bow at home (not our first rodeo for reference!) and a piece snapped off within a few shots. We packed it up and took it back on a day Chuck was working to see if this was standard product failure and get a replacement. He insisted that it was due to dry fire which is FOOLISH on a bow. Absolute rookie mistake that we would never do. He insisted and said it would be well over an hour until he could "deal with us" and turned and walked away. Luckily Stewart was able to refund us for the product failure and tried to apologize/write off the and attitude in the back of the store. Another cashier (missed her name but she had lovely acrylics!) was able to assist us as well because it was a busy day. read more

Do not waste your time if you're expecting them to price match as they do proudly state. Let me explain.... Came out to support a new local business with the intent to purchase ammo & steel targets. I asked a few sales associate if they price match )because I noticed some items with steep price tags) they all told me they price match with online vendors AS LONG ITS NOT A MOM AND POP SHOP and they have it in stock as well as the online vendor. Perfect! Pulled up some ammo that was on sale online 556 at 40¢ a round. I showed the sales associate the price and they asked to see my phone with the details of the online list price. After a quick check the salesman told me "sorry, we cannot price match because the sku number does not match. Ok, no big deal, makes sense. I took to the internet again and found another deal with the matching sku number as requested! Showed the sale man again he told me it was good and had to get a manager to approve it. Shortly after, the manager shows up to verify the online price where I was told they cannot match because it's an online vendor and THEY ONLY PRICE MATCH WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES. I told the manager that that's not what I was told by his employees and that I went out of my way to have everything that they needed to price match, match. He reminded me that he was the manager and he was the one that approves prices. A little frustrated, shook it off and with the information I was given BY THE MANAGER about pricing matching local Business I asked about a steel target that Discount Gun Mart had on sale for $24. The manager asked if it was the same target and matched the sku # he checked it out and had me walk to the register where he checked the price and told me "SORRY I CANNOT PRICE MATCH." The excuse now I was given was that the price discount gun mart had it listed at was was cheaper than what they buy the product at, and that they are not going to lose money on an item. THEN WHY THE FUCK DID YOU GUYS HAVE ME JUMP THOUGHT HOOPS? MEET ALL YOUR REQUEST, SO AT THE END YOU CAN TELL ME YOU DO NOT PRICE MATCH?!?!? Sportsman's Warehouse finally close to San Diego and great location! Used to drive to Temecula for the closet location. This location has plenty of parking and easy to get to. I came here with a list of fishing gear I needed and I found everything here well stocked. I will be back when I have more time! I visited this store today to inquire about a product. When I got to the counter, 3 guys who work there are all together, and one of them was talking to a customer. They can see us but no one came to help. We waited, and a customer came, and immediately one of the 3 guys came to his assistance and even glanced at me. I was hoping one of the 3 guys will help but didn't. I was standing there being ignored. Another customer came and that guy was asked if he needed help right away. Wow....just wow. Eyrc, the supervisor for the gun dept was condescending and rude. My first time buying a gun and I am met with attitude and belittling spat (I am a 44 year old woman btw and have never bought a firearm....although I have used MANY). Eric spoke to me like I was an uneducated child. I can't believe this douche bag is the "supervisor" of his department. My 14 year old kid was with me! I had to tell him to go look around because of how I was spoken to. Everyone else was wonderful. They were polite, they walked me through the process. Although, it was obvious they felt uncomfortable with the way their supervisor was acting. I called and complained when I got home and was told there have been NUMEROUS complaints about this guy. I hope they take action because I won't go back if he is working. I actually hope he's there when I pick up my order because I will tell him to "f@@@ himself " and have a merry Christmas. read more

My family has visited this store on multiple occasions and every time we have been treated terribly by the employees. As a black family we have repeatedly been discriminated against by the employees on at least 3 separate occasions. My dad went in to look at a specific gun and waited to be helped for more than 15 min without anyone else in the store. Once the employee looked at him he pretended he had other work to do (a caucasian employee). Once that "work" was done he asked what number was next, looking around for other people and my dad let him know he was the only one there and had a number. He proceed to ignore what my dad was asking about and never gave him a straight answer, constantly avoiding doing anything to help him. The interaction was so bad another employee noticed (a minority) and switched with him. Every time we go to this store it's the same thing. I can't believe people are continue to treat others this way. Fix it! read more
