I live two minutes away and this the closest DSG store to me. I have to agree with the previous Yelpers and their reviews that customer service here is not the greatest. I've been coming here since this location opened years & years ago and this past year or so... service has changed. The staff isn't as friendly, they seem annoyed when you ask for help and when you do need assistance, *most* of them are no where to be seen. The selection also has gone downhill since they're always out of stock in certain sizes and I wait a couple weeks and still, no new inventory. The value is quite pricey for most things. I don't but certain brands from here since I know I can get the same thing at the outlets. I use to shop here more often but not as much now... it's just so different. Purchased a thermos from the Carmel Mountain Ranch location yesterday and returned the next day after trying it once with water because the design didn't work well for us. We requested an exchange, not a full refund without reason. Manager Barbara refused the return and was very rigid about the policy, despite the item being purchased less than 24 hours earlier. I went here to check out their Hoka shoes and others similar to that brand. They had a good selection of sneakers from casual to running to hiking to golf to whatever you're looking for it seems. They also had a good selection of the Hoka brand. The staff there were very helpful and patient with me as I asked a lot of questions and tried on multiple shoes. The pricing I found there wasn't any higher or lower than what you would find online. It was nice to know also that I could fit into the kid sizes, which saved me $50 and gave me the basic color I was seeking in a shoe. Check out was very fast. Lots of parking in the lot. read more

Went into Dick's in Carmel Mountain with 10 minutes to spare before closing, knowing exactly what we needed. Every time we asked for help, staff would respond and remind us how many minutes were left until they closed--"We close in 9 minutes," "We close in 7," etc. We made our selection quickly and left before closing, but the constant countdown was unnecessary and unprofessional. I don't need a ticking clock while I shop. If I held stock in this company, I'd sell it immediately. Clearly a poor reflection of company culture. read more

Dick's is HUGE! They have a huge selection of sporting goods, from clothing to gear. Unfortunately, their prices are just as huge. This location is conveniently located in a large shopping plaza near the I-15 which sees steady traffic. Sadly, thieves appear to think this is a great store to shop(lift). As we entered during our recent visit, we saw someone bolt from the store into the parking lot, quickly followed by staff. Not sure if they caught the person, but I did overhear some customers talking about it once I was inside. Anywho, we found some new swim workout wear, but I can't help but feel some buyer's remorse, especially after looking up a few things up online. Convenience definitely has a price. read more

I was trying to return shoes I bought online. I bought two different sizes. I tried both on and then tried to return the one that did not fit and they would not take it back. I had a receipt and it was only a couple of weeks since I bought them. The operations manager, Eric, said there was a black mark on the shoes and it could not be cleaned. So he refused to take them back. While Eric refused to return the shoes he kept smiling - even though I was upset. Can you imagine telling someone no, but still smiling at them? What do you think that says about that person. He was rude and insulting. And he's supposed to be an operations manager? He needs to take classes on how to interact with customers. So after all of his lies about not being able to clean the shoe - I took them home, cleaned them and guess what they looked new. And there was never a black mark on them. He wasted my time and money of driving back and forth. The store manager, Barbara, did not care about the situation either. read more

Ordered a baseball bat for our son on 18th, in-store to be shipped as they did not have the one we wanted, in stock. Was supposed to be delivered by 25th. Nothing. Talked to the customer care, was cited "remorse period" of 30 minutes after ordering, the order can neither be cancelled nor be refunded.... WHAT? So basically, Dicks will neither deliver the product nor will refund the money. It's an expensive bat. Wants to keep the free money? No comunication about it too. Simple rule, either deliver the product per the agreed upon timeframe or refund the money. There aren't 2 ways about it. To top it all, my son had an important game on 26th, now he is bummed too, as it was his birthday present. read more

Well it was a very hot day here in Southern California and I had to do a lot of little errands at different stores. My last stop was Dick's because home Depot didn't have vinyl air mattress patches. As I look to the right I did not get the usual response of "Hello"even though there was a lone young man at the cash register. It was a very empty store but the air conditioned was very much needed. I aimlessly walked around looking for the patches for my air mattress. I gave up and asked a young man to help me. His name was Ethan. Ethan gets 5 Stars . He was so eager and spirited to help me find the product that I was looking for. He led me right to the last box on the shelf. As I continued to a mosey around I thought it might be a good time to get my son some more Adidas athletic wear since he was rapidly growing out of the ones he had. To my dismay there was very little selection of Adidas. I was shocked. As I meandered up to the cashier I saw the young man that was supposed to say hello to me as I entered the sliding glass door entrance. As I am a very chipper person I asked Jaysean how he was doing and why there was so little selection of Adidas. He shrugged his shoulders as I waited for some eye contact which never came. Then I asked him which athletic brand did he like? He gave me a simple answer of "Nike or Adidas they pretty much are the same it doesn't matter", he said. I still tried to get eye contact while he was giving me my change but he quickly wanted to move on. Then I said, "No eye contact?" which he finally looked up at me and I said, " There it is. Have a nice day" and I sincerely meant that. I miss Southern hospitality so much. Maybe that's the reason I'm looking forward to moving to Georgia soon. The world is becoming so detached. Sorry, but this place sucks. Was looking for Tee Ball gear for my son. Dick's had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Literally.... ZERO sizes of ANY youth cleats. How is that possible to not have a single youth cleat?!? ONE left handed toddler glove that wasnt crappy plastic, which was $65 ONE baseball backpack/bag, and it was a pink one which was not helpful because my son isnt in to pink... imagine that. THREE helmets total (one already banged up and the other two red ) I left and went to Big 5 and they had everything I needed with tons of inventory of quality products. I understand it's softball/baseball season so a lot of people are looking for gear, but to have NOTHING in stock DURING the beginning of the season is unacceptable. The guy in the shoe department even made a comment to me when I seemed shocked he had zero cleats. He said "I can't wait until the weekend when more people like you come in asking for cleats and I can tell them we have nothing". Super good customer service if you ask me LOL what a joke The guy in the baseball section was clueless as well. I asked for adult Nike baseball sliding shorts and he said he didn't have any clue what those were. I mean really? Come to find out they had ZERO of those too. And don't get me started on their rewards program. You get rewards money the more you spend, but wait until you try to use that "free money". Almost everything in the store is on the "exclusions may apply" list. Can't be used on brands such as Nike, Under Armour, Taylor Made, etc and can't use used on items such as baseball bats, golf clubs, jerseys, MLB licensed products etc. I asked the person at the register if he could name one thing in the store that I could buy that wasn't on the exclusion list. He literally laughed and said "basically anything at the register area" and pointed to the "Big League Chew" gum and chapstick. He went on to say there's really nothing useful you can use it on because there's too many exclusions. Yesterday I purchased a $25 thumb guard for my daughter, first time ever trying this so first thing she does when we get in the car was open it and see how it worked without reading the instructions... come to find out it hardens after minutes to mold onto the size of your hand. So we made an honest mistake. We went back today to exchange for a new one and a bigger size. So Nicky had to get an approval by guy #1 which he said no because we opened it and can't resell it no more since it's solid. The employee Nicky said he was sorry and if I still wanted it and I said yes we actually need it- so I was going to pay another $25. I guess it didn't sit well with him because he asked guy #2 (I wish I got his name) to come over and I explained the situation with this item. He easily gave the go ahead to proceed with the exchange. Nicky was kind to mention he didn't want Dicks as a company to want be like that for something that cost almost $30. First time visit to this store location and has ample parking. The store is clean and organized. Come in knowing what you want or you can get lost. There is so much eye candy. I was looking for access to ordering items online because you couldn't order items and apply the coupon which is inconvenient, one must go to the store physically to order items. So that's what I did. One thing about this process is knowing where to order. There is no indication of instructions areas. So I walked around and found a women behind a computer. She was thoughtful and didn't want me to wait and sent me to another computer area where I'd be greeted by another staff member. I had to look for someone which was not an issue. Service with Johnnie was great. Experience with the staff at this location was friendly and professional. Ordering online was a piece of cake. I didn't stay shopping because there was so many nice sporty clothing and I didn't want to browse. A lot is inventory at this location with many varieties of brands. Enjoy! read more

Went to Chick Fil A for breakfast. Saw Dick's, decided to go see if they had some cheap Nike tees on sale. I go in and I don't see anyone available to help. I go to counter. Two employees, one older man cashier and a young college aged employee who was buying some snacks/drinks for his break. The young guy on his break acknowledged me and I said I have a question whenever you're free. Where old guy doesn't even turn around to acknowledge. After checking out his co worker the young guy for his snacks, he says next customer in line for purchase totally ignoring me. I walk away and the young employee saw me gets ignored. ON HIS OWN BREAK, took his time to answer my question, show me what I didn't know I needed, and proposed a solution very quick and professionally. This is the type of customer service and manners that isn't common nowadays and I really appreciate that young man for making my day feel better and pleasant with his interaction. Later, After looking at his Nike clothes I accidentally walked backwards into the walkway and another older gentleman that works there scoffed or got annoyed at me and said excuse me in a rude aggressive way. Idk if it was the same guy but my god what is up with that. I wish I saw their names. The young guys had longer hair. I was wearing green and had a crossbody bag on, go check the cameras for today and see what a poor example the two older dudes did. I'd recommend going to Big 5 after that, plus big 5 gives coupons. COVID-19 review: 7/14/2020 I stopped her because I have a gift crowd gift for $40. Only able to use $25 of it because DIVK's only has increments of $25, $50 and one other amount maybe $100? Kinda sad they didn't allow a range. I would've spent more here if I would have been able to use the full. $40, so I docked a star for that. Service was friendly and they're abiding by the recommendations for COVID-19. They have plexi glass installed at cash registers, social distancing circles, masks....so that's great! As I was browsing I was asked if I needed assistance and I actually did. So that was nice! The girl was very helpful in telling me about the sizes for toddlers since I was looking for my son. Turns out, Nike doesn't have much at Dick's for toddlers! Check out was fast and friendly and the cashier sanitized in between customers. Overall, this store was really clean, well stocked and the register staff was great. This Dicks sporting goods store is better than most stores. I'm giving it 2 stars because the employees were super nice and approachable. Then you have their older Filipino or Asian Team Leader who has no good customer service. She is extremely rude and condescending. I came here to get the Stanley cups for my son's teachers for his last day of school. One of the employees said that they price match since Stanley website has 30% off for their summer sale. This old Asian Team Leader (obviously I didn't get her name since I don't give a flying eff about her) was extremely rude and telling me, "okay, that's it you can't get anymore". I was like if you don't want my business I can go somewhere else. I wanted to buy 7 cups but I can only get 5 because she's telling me not to get more. In the end, I bought 5 cups so only 5 teachers got the cup and 2 of them I had to end up giving Starbucks gift card since they're not letting me get 2 more. This place need to shut down. Period. The salesman will tell you the only thing you need to do is to pay for the warranty. However, it will be absolutely not. This insurance company ASURION will try their best to intimidate your claim. For example, they denied my claim for broken golf glove with the reason that they only accept "breakdown or failure". Or, they repeatedly ask for your personal information to frustrate you to go on. During my recent claim, I was asked to provide 4 times of personal info. What's more, their staff will hang up your phone or disconnect online chatting without any reason. It happens many times almost every claim I made. This warranty program is totally a scam. If anyone experienced the same as me. I've always had a love/hate relationship with Dicks' sporting goods. Not because they're bad but because they're always so far and the ones that ARE close dont' have what I need. This location is close but doesn't have what I need. That being said, they're still pretty amazing. The staff is super friendly, everything is in order (It better be since it's grand opening) and it follows the same general layout of all other Dick's sporting goods places. Big huge parking lot that has ample parking and next door to a Sprouts Farmer's market so I can go sneak in here with the kiddo while mom goes grocery shopping! One of the worst experiences I've ever had in a retail environment. The "manager" on duty named Eric has a serious customer service problem and arrogance really spews out of his mouth. One thing as a manger you should never do is a make a customer feel uncomfortable. Simply wanted to purchase multiple items and get a discounted price as displayed and was made out to be a liar in front of everyone. I was on a mission to find a Sunday afternoon adventure hat for a hiking trip ! I wanted something that specifically provided the most sun protection since I suffer from eczema and bad hives ! Dick's Sporting Goods saved the day !! This place is fairly new so everything is properly organized and clean. There's plenty of parking and next to Sprouts. Perfect for a one stop shop ! I was able to find an adventure hat here and didn't have to travel too far. They had a few different styles and a variety of colors to choose from. I burn terribly and easily, and my neck usually gets it first. This hat is lightweight, fits nicely without binding, and breathes, which is a big deal for me. I find this works the best for sun protection and it's comfortable. Oh and can I say cute too ? Cost was $40 which was pretty pricey for a hat, but hey I figured I'd utilize this all the time when I go on my outdoor adventures. They also had some good hiking socks for $20 that I purchased. They have a good selection of sporting goods, but I don't think I'd be a regular here due to the steep prices. Although, based on these reviews, it looks like they price match. Ok..I'm no cheapskate, but I'm a bargain shopper. haha Customer service was standard. I did get a couple employees asking me for assistance and the cashier was friendly.
